The latest book in the saga, The Captain’s Men, is also now available as are Martin’s other novels.

Great book and get series!
Originally selected Archer's Tale thinking I was going to reread Bernard Cornwell ' s archer books. I love all his books especially the archer and viking series. I was instantly hooked on this series as well. Goes back further in history to the beginning of the company of poor landless archers - their start in the crusades and their development as the most feared and respected power on the seas. Includes fascinating details of evolution of their training and fighting methods - many of which were based on Roman military tactics and procedures. Written in the language spoken at the time by those not of noble birth with the wit, humor and intelligence of common men who were smart enough to literally go from rags to riches. The company of archers become a well oiled fighting machine - but a compassionate one that frees serfs and slaves and never deserts one of their own . The Archer's saga also clearly shows how the English / Welsh longbow was truly history's first weapon of mass destrction. Also a rollicking good time!

Fairly Good Story
The problem with this story is the erratic pace and settings. It jumps from one scene or action to another too frequently and too often. It also had too many simple errors such as missing words. Otherwise it was okay.

This is complete series part two. A rollicking historical fiction stretching from England into Europe and across to the Middle East. Fast action and great characters. Rather than get eat individual book I read this collection on my kindle.
Easy to read and enjoyable. Fight in the shield wall, confront 20,000 for soldiers, attack castles, sail the seas and attack pirate ships. Steal gold and silver, save the lives of pilgrims and travel the known world. High on action and character, low on descriptions of violence and gore.
You will laugh, cry and cheer. I could not stop reading.
