The truth hurts. But the lies are fatal. An undercover agent embedded with the extreme far right has gone missing. Tom Blake, his handler, is the only man who can find him. But when the agent resurfaces as the ringleader of a terrifying bomb plot, Blake - a special forces veteran now working for the security service, MI5 - has to call on all his years of experience to avert a tragedy. And with the hours and minutes ticking down, Blake is thrown into a desperate race to save hundreds of innocent lives - and his own reputation. Deep Sleepers is a frighteningly plausible and topical, lightning-paced read. If you're a fan of compulsive, gripping thrillers full of high-energy twists and turns, you'll love the Tom Blake thriller series.
Adrianhas been a journalist for 20 years but writing has been in his blood from since he was old enough to put pencil to paper. He tried to satisfy the need to write by working on a host of weekly and daily regional newspapers. He currently works in regional television news, and is married to fellow author, Amanda Wills. They live in Kent with their two children, Oliver and Thomas, and their two cats.
I liked it, but did not love it. As others have pointed out, we just seemed to jump in on the Sleeper program, no background. Is this ethical? The poor sleeper did things (some bad) that he cannot remember and yet, is he responsible for his actions or is his handler? Basically he gave up his free will, and was just under Blake's control. I used my April KOLL, and maybe will try again in several months.
An interesting if implausible way of managing a storyline and complicated plot. You’ll have to read it to see what I mean by that.
Characters were interesting, well developed and for the most part believable.
Although what always gets me in these action novels is that stuff that hurts (a lot often) seems to be brushed off rather too easily by characters in the story.
Tom Blake is a complex character who we were introduced to in As Good as Dead, a prequel novella. I do recommend you read that first as it helps explain who Tom Blake is and what he does. Deep Sleepers is disturbing because it reflects the terrorism the world is facing today. It is unsettling because events in this book could actually happen. Having said that, it is a good thriller and rather different from the normal terrorist plot as it is based in the UK. Definitely worth reading. I look forward to the next Tom Blake book.
Good book that follows Tom Blake a former solider psychologist, who now works for MI5. He now monitors undercover agents, Ben Proctor is a deep undercover and holds the key to stopping a terrorist attack. Not your typical action thriller, but the story moves at a nice place and the series has potential.
This is the first book by this author that features Tom Blake a MI5 spy who plants one of his recruits deep inside an organization like the BNP whose task is to infiltrate and gain the trust of the top men. The story twists and turns and make this book a good read I will be putting his second book on my reading list
From the hatred of bigotry to the love of family Adrian Wills creates an intriguing story that is too short on detail to make it believable. Whilst fast paced there are too many loose ends left at what is a simmering conclusion given the tense nature of the rest of the book
This book was better than I expected. It was interesting enough to hold my attention, that I read it in practically one sitting. Had just enough intrigue to keep me wondering. This Blake character seems to be sort of a one man army. He is an impressive character. I liked the story. I think I will be reading more from this author in the future.
A Novel of Sponsored Spurs Performing a Mission for MI6 Similar to Guantomno Bay
WE had penned a modern updated version of James Bond. However, this character in not a number spy he is a Psychological Expert who uses Hypnotism as a tool to gain underground viewed and scheduled Terrorist attacks in the realm of Great Britian. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER
The main character turns up still alive, still able to retain his identity. And then his life changes radically--again. A nice, gentle page-turner, filled with lots of twisting sub-plots. Nicely developed from beginning to end, each turn leading the reader further into the depths of the plot, with a surprise ending. Or maybe new beginning.
This book was a great read. Mysterious from the start, emotional throughout and the twists and turns in the story were great. You would not guess the outcome right up to the last page. A must read story.
Blake is investigating the BPA a previously racist political party that have somehow.magically become wealthy and growing on popularity. Working for MI5 Blake is tracking a deep sleeper he has put into the group.

What a wonderful fantastic book. It’s been a great read from start to finish. Loved every minute of it together with the twist. Thoroughly recommend it.
