I have have found that I'm digging the romantic suspense books. I had a hard time rating this story, because I struggled getting into it at first.

The romance aspect finally picked up about midway through the story. There were some steamy sex scenes as well as sweet moments between Luke and Hayley. Once Hayley came back to town, there was noone else for either of them.

The suspense kept me reading to find out who the murderer was, even though I had a pretty good idea of their identity.

This was a second chance story. There was an attraction for quite some time. Luke was immature and had been around the block. They had sex three years prior, the night before Hayley left for culinary school. During their three year seperation, she had a boyfriend of a year but I don't recall mention of Luke's love life during that time. I don't believe there was much especially since . She had never forgotten Luke and hoped to someday be with him again.

--damaged alpha male
--strong loving heroine
--no cheating - devoted once they see each other again
--no ow/om drama - it was kinda icky that Luke's brother Chris had crushed on Hayley but it wasn't a major issue
--no pushing away
--there was an epilogue a year later but it left me wanting more. I would have loved to have known what Chris got up to during his time away.

All in all, it was just ok for me.

Hayley grew up with the Barton boys and watched her easy friendship with them turn into a crush on one, Luke. A final night in her hometown of Willow Creek at a Halloween party finds her getting the one thing she always wanted, Luke looking at her like a woman and not just a buddy. One night of passion between her and Luke before she heads off to New York City and he goes back to college. Three years have passed and Hayley finds herself back in Willow Creek and crossing paths with Luke again, but so much has changed in that time. Luke always knew Hayley was the one girl for him, but life has had different plans for him and after 2 years in prison for a crime, though he thought about doing, he didn't do. When another murder hits their town Luke and Hayley work together to get to the bottom of it and rekindle the romance they could have had 3 years ago if they had stayed in town or stayed in contact. Although Luke sees himself as the Big Bad Wolf, Hayley knows he isn't. When Hayley's life is in danger from the killer who is out to stop them digging into the murders he will do anything to save her. I was on the edge of my seat with this story! I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hayley has been away from Willow Creek for three years, she's been in New York at culinary school. She had a good life there, but Willow Creek is calling her home. Her grandmother left her a house and some money. Being home stirs up the past, mostly feelings for Luke. Hayley and Luke were childhood friends along with his brother Chris. Luke's father was the sheriff. One steamy night was all Luke and Hayley shared, then she left and he went on with his life.....without her. They share a history, one of firsts and happier, carefree times. Lately Luke's life has been full of tragedy, but he's trying to move on. Years ago, Luke was all in when it came to Hayley, but she had plans for her future. Could they possibly have a future now? Would she still see Luke as the carefree boy he once was or as the man he's become?....broken. As they become reacquainted, Hayley notices this Luke is not the same man she remembers. Jealousy and regret have found a home in Luke. Jealous of his brother's life and regret for his choices and missed opportunities. Hayley settles into life in Willow Creek. Life is good, until it isn't. Life for Hayley was going pretty much as she planned. Luke's, not so much. He's been in a pretty dark place, but he sees hope when he looks at Hayley. Too bad someone has their eye on her as well.
Luke and Hayley take it slow, learning each other all over again. The teenage attraction they once shared is gone as well as the innocence. If they want forever, they are going to have to fight for it.
THIS BOOK WAS AWESOME !   WHODUNNIT ?   THE SUSPENSE WAS GREAT !  The whole time I was reading it, I was going through different scenarios about who the killer might be. It kept me guessing until the end.
LOTS OF HOT, SLAM YOU UP AGAINST THE WALL OR UP AGAINST JUST ABOUT ANYTHING SEX !
HOT ALPHA pining for his first real love. SWEET, SEXY BAKER that never forgot her first love ! SO GOOD !
EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT, WAS IN THIS BOOK !  A DEFINITE ONE-CLICK ! ! !

What a gripping and extraordinary 2nd chance romance that has suspense and mystery intertwined into the storytelling. There is so many steamy scenes and erotic moments which I very much loved. The story is about Hayley and Luke, who are seeing each other again after being separated for 3 years and this is their 2nd chance at love. She has come back home after her grandmother died and she inherited her home. In order to move back home, she broke up with her boyfriend Nick and left behind life there to start fresh where she can taking her baking skills and build a bakery business. When she gets there, she runs into her old boyfriend Luke but he isn’t the same ole Luke. He’s hard, cold and that makes Hayley rethink getting to know him again. While seeing him, she strikes up her old friendships with old friends and settles into Willow Creek but it seeks someone has put a bull’s-eye on Hayley. Now there is all these horrible things happening. Will Luke and Hayley ever get that 2nd chance at love or will the evil in town get their chance and snuff out their love before they can begin again?
I loved the writing and the fast pace of this story. I enjoyed the mystery and suspense along with the sexy scenes between Luke and Halyey. I would love to see a story written about Chris, Luke’s brother. I would love to read his story someday.

My rating: 4.5 stars ****

(Explícito). Estuvo bien. Recomendable.

If u like suspense, hot sex and second chance love then this is the book for you. Growing up together Hayley and the Barton brothers were inseparable. But they grew apart a little and the last night before Hayley was leaving she got what she always wanted Luke Barton. With the loss of her grandmother, Hayley comes back to Willow Creek and runs into Luke. When Hayley was away tragedy struck Willow Creek and Hayley learns all about it and can't help to feel like she shouldn't have stayed away. Wanting to help she finds herself in danger but Luke will do anything to protect her. I couldn't stop reading this book, it was well written and I love Luke & Hay together.

I really wanted to love this book and it did have a lot of hope but there was just something missing for me. I'm not sure exactly what but i found myself putting this down a few times then going back to it which I rarely do. I wish i could put my finger on exactly what didn't do it for me but it was part of lack of chemistry between the two MC's, maybe too much mystery, like trying to be overly mysterious, I don't know but obviously i can't put it into words. That being said it wasn't written badly just didn't suck me in like i thought it would.

Hayley had been friends with the Barton boys all her life as a teen she fancied Luke & acted on it before leaving town. That was 3 years ago now her gran has died & left her some property she's back.
Unfortunately while she's been gone Julie Barton has been murdered & others have suffered.
Luke isn't the same man he looks dark & broody.
This book is a standalone and has an ending.

Frankie Love and Isabella Starling have combined romance and mystery to form a dark and entertaining second chance romantic thriller. Luke is a sexy Alpha who I could not get enough of. The tattoos and way he cares about those close to him only add to his attractiveness. When Big Bad Wolf ended, I was not ready to say goodbye to these characters. I'm still hoping we will get more of these characters in a second book.

I'm pretty sure I'd follow this Big Bad Wolf into a dark forest...just sayin' :)

I love these two authors individually, so to have them work on this project together was fabulous! Such a great book!

This book really had a bit of everything. Small town, second chance romance of childhood best friends Luke and Hayley, jealousy, betrayal and serial killer on the loose.

The killer is terrorizing the small town of Willow Creek and is starting to pick off loved ones of Luke and Hayley. Hayley decides to start digging into the crimes on her own and quickly makes herself a target.

Luke has already has been wrongly accused of one of the killer’s crimes and is just recently home from serving time. The town has labeled him a murderer and this is making it tough for him to have a fresh start. When Hayley inherits her Gram’s place though and moves back to Willow Creek as well, the two of them pick up where they left off as best friends, lovers and as each other’s forever family.

Luke and Hayley’s relationship is a slow burn throughout the book as they encounter one emotional road block after another, but the sexual tension and chemistry between these two jumps off the pages right from the start of the story!

The story is told from multiple points of view, mainly from Luke and Hayley’s point of views, but every few chapters we are treated to a chapter from the murderer’s point of view, which helps the reader start to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

This book does deal with some tough issues, including mental health disorders, grief, rape and murder, but it is all handled carefully within the context of the story.

Standalone, dark, friends to lovers romance/murder mystery with a HEA and a sweet conclusion to Luke and Hayley’s love story, but definitely not a HEA for all characters.

I volunteered to review an advanced copy of this book. Having said that – I definitely would have bought it anyways! I highly recommend it to lovers of dark romance!

This is my Second book from Isabella and my first from Frankie and I couldn't be happier, it was better than good, it was perfection.

The story had some pretty spectacular characters that weren't only hot, but smart and sweet, and deeply disturbed, just the way we love them !

Sweet girl next door Hayley is back in her hometown, and things have changed so much, she is scared it wont feel like home, until she sees Luke.

He was just... WOW, the big bad wolf suited him perfectly. I'm happy to announce that I have found yet again a new book boyfriend, he was perfection wrap up in a bad boy exquisite exterior.

The fact that they have known each other for their wholes lives was really romantic and created a deeply rooted connection between the characters that couldn't be faked.

The time apart has changed them, but when you truly love someone, you always find a way back to them.

The plot was captivating, not only because of their funny and steamy interactions, but because of the mysterious crimes happening and the fact that we get some chapters narrated by the killer. Being inside the monster head was a new experience for me and I enjoyed it a lot.

An amazing read ! I recommend !

Hayley Adams moves back to Willow Creek after three years away and after inheriting her grandmother's house. She has decided to move home and build a bakery business. Harley also hopes to reconnect with old friends like the Barton brothers Luke and Chris.
Luke has recently returned as well but his return isn't as welcoming by the town. Even though he was proven innocent and released from jail people still call him a murderer. The Barton family was destroyed when young Julie Barton was murdered and then Luke was jailed for killing her murderer. Soon the murders hit close to the Bartons again when Stacy, Chris Bartons girlfriend, ends up dead. Can Hayley and Luke overcome these odds and reconnect? Will they figure out who is killing people who commit crimes and now innocent civilians? This was a dark and deeply involved story. I loved how we get glimpses into the murderers mind with his/her chapters. I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I absolutely loved this book, it’s a brilliant read.

Haley is returning to her home town after the death of her Gran. She left town three years go to fulfil her dream of going to culinary school after spending the night with her teenage crush Luke Barton. She grew up with the Barton Boys Luke and Chris but her heart belonged to Luke. Now she is home and things have changed over the past three years, Luke isn’t the same person she left behind. After the murder of his sister he spent some time in prison and he has gone from the happy go lucky guy she knew to dark and broody. Settling back into old friendships and her life in Willow Creek brings disruption, sadness and murder into the lives of Haley and her loved ones.

Luke and Haley deserve their second chance at love and the suspense will keep you gripped from the beginning to end. Loved how it was told from dual POV and you got to see how each of the main characters were dealing with everything happening to them. And the eerie feeling from the murderers POV was unexpected, as they will not stop until they feel that justice has been served and all have suffered who deserve too.

Gripping story from start to finish and would love to read Chris Barton’s story at some point in the future.

I don't know why I waited so long to read this novella. It was fantastic! I love a plot that has mystery, action, and romance. I love that I was guessing throughout. I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time.

I loved Luke! Strong and loyal plus a family man too. Hayley was awesome as well. Hayley always the loving one. Kind of the "mom" of everyone.

Wonderful book. I have enjoyed many books by Frankie Love. This is the first that I have read by Isabella Starling so I will have to leave my review based on the books that I have read by Frankie Love in the past. This book is very different than what Frankie has written. This is a great story between Luke and Hayley. Just like any of Frankie's books it is love at first sight for Luke many years ago. With some time between them Luke and Hayley find themselves back together ago. Tragedy hits both of them hard. They have to find a way through it and keep themselves alive. Hope that those to writers pair up again and give us Chris's story.

I love this book. It was suspenseful which I really love in a book. Haley had one night with Luke. She leaves to fulfill her dream of becoming a pastry chef. It's not all its cracked up to be so she decides to move back to Willow Creek. Only to find out things are not the way she left them. Steam factor 5. Big Bad Wolf is a second chance romance between childhood friends, Luke and Hayley.
It was an enjoyable read that has a mystery/suspense storyline interlaced with the romance. There is a lot that happens so you aren't bored. I also enjoyed the main characters as well as the side characters. A good collaboration between the two authors.

Quien se quiere comer al lobo feroz? Al lobo, al lobo?
pues yo !
