Reapers was a pretty okay book - I just feel like it was missing something. It started off great but then kind of got boring and made me want to skim through it until I hit a really good part or two.

Now even though the beginning was great and amazing, I was definitely left confused. Mostly because the book before had her interviewing for a gaming company but now she's in the book store?? Did she not get the job based off the interview? Did the interview even happen? AM I LOSING MY MIND?

Another confusion of mine was Ariel. No, not the mermaid because she would've been an improvement to this book. NO, Ariel was completely useless the ENTIRE book. Well, until the end when she fucking snapped out of it and was useful again. Like what the hell? How am I going to accept that?! Answer is: I wouldn't. Ariel was a frustrating character in my opinion. But with the day that I've had today and the day I had yesterday I quickly got over it and moved on from my confusion.

Besides that there was still Kara and David. They were okay and didn't totally annoy me which I'll take that as a good sign right now. Overall, it was an okay book. Since there's one more book I pray that it is freaking amazing. I would love for this series to go out with a bang!

Better!
I'll admit, after the last book I was hesitant to continue, but this one started out much better! It hit some snags, but I feel it was almost the best of the series so far.

Right off the bat, I was annoyed that Kara was back in the bookstore, especially since at the end of the last book she had an interview with a gaming company. What happened there? It makes you feel like the character is stuck in a loop, never able to progress and never able to move on. What a rotten deal.

I did, however, enjoy the reaper spin and the way the storyline was portrayed compared to the plot of the earlier books. It was nice to have something new. And though I still feel like the characters are being childish, I am glad to see some change and progress between Kara and Ashley. Granted, it is a little too convenient, and there wasn't much build up, but it is progress.
And the writing and grammar seemed to improve on this one...or maybe the storyline was just so much better I didn't notice.

I do still have some hang-ups, though. It really bothers me that the clothes and material goods transfer back and forth so easily between Horizon and mortality. I would think they couldn't pass between the theoretical veil. And I can't get past this immaturity of the GAs. I guess I have this idea that angels are supposed to act a little more...angelic. But torturing, killing, making deals, and lying seem to follow more of a demonic theme to me. I suppose it is meant to be different, that's part of the catch, but it does bother me.
And then there is David. He talks about pay raises all through the book, which, really, angels getting paid? I'm hoping he is supposed to be joking, but...*shrug*...that may not be the case.

Anyway, in general, I liked it. Didn't love it, but I liked it. Hated the cliffhangar ending, however.

For my clean readers:
Includes murder, descriptive gore, violence, and mild language.

After they battled warlock in the previous book and Kara met the chief for the second time, I honestly have no idea on what would happen next in her life. Kara no longer has her elemental power, but Kim always finds something interesting to messed up Kara’s life.

In this book, I was cheering when some mysterious entity injected her with an unknown substance. The story was interesting with surprise elements; some question was not answered yet by the end of this book. I’m curious about what Kara’s deal with Metatron and can’t wait to read the final book for the wrap up to the series.

Ampliamente recomendada. Le doy 5/5 estrellas o un 9.8./10

The reason I'm giving this a 4 compared to my 2 from the last book is because this series changed once again, but for the better. (The 2 I gave the last book mostly came from me being tired of the same problems and annoyances coming up over and over again.) I still have some problems with some characters and their part in the book. Like Ariel, I didn't like how she was so helpless during the whole book and then all of a sudden she was commanding things in the end like she knew what she was doing. There needs to be some consistency with characters.

I love Kara and Mr. Patterson though, and I like their relationship with one another. He's kind of like a godfather to her.

So I feel like this book and Kara's adventures were better put together and better thought out.

The song remains the same. Everything that has always been bothering me about this series continues to annoy me. The only good thing are the villains but I really wish they would have been the big bad all along and not just a big bad in a row of big bads.

I was completely glued to this book. so upset at myself for not already having the next book so I could dive right in. Kara's elemental powers were one thing but wings? Very nice twist.
