Ami az előnye, egyben az a hátránya is ennek a könyvnek: sok illusztráció és tematikus feldolgozás. Mármint képzőművészeti/kézműves áganként mutatja be a kort. Sok érdekes összefüggésre világít rá, de így a nemzeti/területi összefoglalásra már nincs helye és ideje. Az album-formátum viszont elégséges arra, hogy sok gyönyörűséges alkotást részletesen meg lehessen ismerni.
