Parts were good, but this was a supplemental set and really wasn't given the attention it deserved. Kaya seemed really out of character at points, and the story didn't have a proper conclusion. There are some very good short stories in here, but they don't fit together as well as the rest of these collections have in the past.
The individual stories were ok, but they didn’t flow together to make a good story together. Things were quite disjointed, and I didn’t get nearly as much time with the characters I liked... and too much with those I didn’t.
Overall, it was.... ok. If you care about MTG lore, it’s worth reading for the origin of Queen Marchessa... but if you are just looking for a good fantasy to read, this is not it.
