I much preferred this text over the others I have read for school so far, because it offered a variety of perspectives and insight from dramaturgs and theatre artists all over the world. I learned a lot!

A comprehensive analysis of dramaturgy and the work of a theatre dramaturg. The book usefully examines the development of ideas about dramaturgical forms and processes, from 18th-century Germany and Brecht through to modern, postdramatic theatre. It also unpicks the remit of people working as dramaturgs in the UK and the US within the context of how the role has developed in Germany and other continental European countries.

One thing i remember from this book is about the dramaturgy of stage lighting, one particular exapmle of using strobe lights to give an impression of slow motion in real life.
