It was New Year’s Eve, and I should’ve been ringing in the night with cheap champagne and bad decisions at home in New York. Instead I found myself holed up in some hotel room in southern California.
But I wasn’t alone.
I was in the company of a fellow stranded traveler by the name of Cristiano. We spent one night together – forced into the same hotel room by the snowstorm that cancelled our flights and changed our lives.
His dimpled smile, panty-melting kisses, and charming wit were a temporary distraction from the chaos of the day... and the past year. But as soon as morning broke, I set my sights on getting home. I rented a car, mapped out my 2,749 mile journey, and packed my bags.
Only Cristiano insisted on joining me. He needed to get home, too. His best friend was getting married on Saturday. And he refused to let me go it alone. It wasn’t safe, he said.
Trekking across the country with an alluring stranger was certainly one of the more adventurous moments of my life. Falling for him was certainly one of the most daring. But uncovering his secrets? That was the most challenging. And the truth I learned... would shatter us both.
3.5 stars Least favourite of the Amato Brothers series. Not because of Christiano. Hell, no. That guy is a bombshell, a sex god, a ready to be domesticated sex god. But Daphne annoyed the shit out of me and I wanted to bitchslap her sister for her pseudo logic! Woman! Grow. Fucking. Up. And stop. Reading. Other. People's. Personal. Journals. And. Stop. Drawing. Your. Own. Conclusions!!!!! What is wrong with this Amato brothers?! I mean come on! We know Matteo probably is a manwhore! (BTW Winter can I please have a Matteo book?) but the rest of them had always been in committed relationship at least once in there life. Even though they say they don't do commitment (ok only Christiano says it) all I am hearing is "when can we start playing house?" And they are not afraid to run after their woman even when they appear to be a little ummm unhinged! They are not pushy though. Not caveman, He not OTT intimidating alpha, but more persistent reliable rock of a male. The one that won't just pack up and leave you just because things get ugly and tough. But back to Daphne, yeah, if you read someone's personal journal you're not to be trusted with chocolate and tequila stashes and you're not to be trusted with birthday surprises EVER! Now these things are important in relationship! But she reads journal, listens to half baked conversation, misinterprets body language and because she WANTS to run, grabs the excuse, totally draws the wrong conclusion and runs! And her "smart" sister tells her not to answer his insistent calls or texts because she doesn't "owe him an explanation" as this wasn't even a relationship, so she didn't break up with him, it was a fling or something and she ended and left. Ummm....no you selfish bitch. She didn't end a fling and left, she ran. If she ended it and left then she'd be able to answer the call and give the poor guy a closure a peace of mind and let him know what he was being punished for! She was punishing him for someone else's sin, and you're encouraging her! Daphne was really immature, which I didn't expect from an academic. She should have picked up the call let him know how she feels if she truly wanted to move on, except she acted like a spoilt brat and her sister fuelled that behaviour. I usually never find any flaws in female character, so this is extremely hard for me to acknowledge. But overall, as I said, 3.5 stars, with a cute epilogue, which kinda didn't give me much hope for a 4th book!
2 stars. This book was fairly decent at the beginning, but the author really bombed it by the end. The second half turned the heroine into an awful bitch, and several unnecessary things happened just for added drama. I hate hate hate how this story went down hill so fast from about the 60% mark.
So let me start at the beginning... this book begins with the heroine trying to get back home to NY because her twin sister is due to deliver her first baby, and the heroine promised she would be there. The hero is also traveling to nearly the same location, but for his best friend's wedding. They have a few run ins at the airport before realizing they are on the same flight, and then their flight gets cancelled because of bad weather on the east coast. They end up at the same hotel, where there's only one room left, so they decide to share. Realizing there won't be any flights out for days, and refusing to miss their events, they rent a car the following day, and begin the loooong drive from California to New York. They get to know each other during the trip, and develop feelings for each other, but the minute that the trip ends the heroine becomes a giant spaz. She then continued to be a giant spaz for the remainder of the book. TBH, I have no clue what the hero saw in her. But since this is a romance, there is a HEA ending with a good epilogue. Unfortunately, I just didn't care at that point.
There were a few things that really irritated me about this book... and ya'll know I like lists...
1. The hero is a playboy/manwhore, he is also a male model. He has women falling at his feet everywhere he goes. Everyone is constantly checking him out, drooling all over him, etc. The level that his sex appeal was exaggerated was just unbelievable and stupid.
2. The hero's best friend (a female) got married, and then less than a month later approached the hero and declared her feelings for him. It was SO UNNECESSARY. I was disgusted that the author needed to add this - couldn't there be at LEAST one woman who could resist the hero and his good looks? She even reassured the hero at her wedding that she was making the right decision and that she loved her fiancé... and then she just did a complete 180!!!
3. Some stupid drama at the end where the heroine, instead of talking with the hero for 5 minutes to clarify her beliefs... just ran away, then ran away again, and then kept running away. He tried to talk to her several times, and she LITERALLY RAN from him. WHAT AN IDIOT.
4. There's also a ridiculous conflict with some lecherous art teacher who was hitting on the heroine...this part of the plot just seemed so very misplaced because after she told him off, nothing happened. Why did this even need to be included in the plot?
5. In the audiobook version, which is different from the Kindle Unlimited version (I just checked), the heroine tells the hero that she loves him, and then a few pages later says "I like him, I really really like him. And I'm not one to throw around the L word so easily, but I think I could see myself falling in love with him, if it ever came to that. I don't want to rush this, I want to savor it..." I see that ALL of that was changed to "I love this man" in the KU version. But seriously, HOW THE FUCK IS SOMETHING LIKE THIS MISSED? It makes me think that the author was just so done with this book that she didn't even pay attention to what she herself was writing.
6. The big secret of the hero's comes out right before the end. It turns out that his girlfriend passed a few years earlier, and he was heartbroken and mourning her for the past several years. It felt like such a random afterthought to me. There were only tiny hints throughout the story that he had endured something so major. And those hints were just about how he had been heartbroken once before. We had his POV several times... can we say unreliable narrator?? How is he supposedly thinking of this woman enough to write journal entries about her, but not enough to think of her? I hated that the reveal came seemingly out of nowhere and was barely a blip in the overall story. Why put something SO HUGE into the very end of the story and then just move on to the ILY's like it wasn't a big deal?
7. Basically, the storyline of this book was just a complete clusterfuck by the end. The hero even comes in to model nude for the heroine's art class...because that's the only way to supposedly get her attention. Was that supposed to be a romantic gesture on his part? I honestly don't know what the purpose of this was. It's soooo hot when your boyfriend shows his twig and berries to a whole bunch of undergrad girls, right ladies?
Anyways, I ended this book disappointed. I DO NOT recommend this book.
Safe; no virgins, both were experienced but the hero was a manwhore prior to meeting the heroine, some OW drama from the hero's best (female) friend, some OM drama from heroine's ex boyfriend, hero was in love in the past and his g/f passed, no scenes with OM/OW, no cheating, both celibate during separation.

The long awaited Rixton Falls/ Amato Brothers cross-over is here and it did not disappoint! Cristiano Amato needs to get home in time for his best friend’s wedding. Daphne Rosewood promised her pregnant twin sister she’ll make it home in time for the delivery. These two unlikely travel companions find themselves thrown together when their flights are suddenly cancelled after a massive snowstorm hits the East coast. Not only are they stranded on the West coast, but all the local hotels are booked since it also happens to be New Year’s Eve.
What I liked: the hero, Cristiano Amato. He’s dark, dimpled, broody, and sexy. He’s described as looking like a “Greek Adonis”. Loved him! I also liked Daphne, but Cristiano was definitely the star of this one for me. The writing is great. It’s engaging, funny, and entertaining. There’s a super sweet epilogue at the end. It wasn’t what I expected, but I still enjoyed it.
What didn’t work for me: As much as I like Daphne, she was a bit inconsistent. She makes a resolution to have more ‘Priceless’ moments, but pushes Cristiano away too much for my tastes. I wanted her to be more true to character and go with the flow. I really enjoyed this book, but some of the scenarios presented were highly improbable and unlikely. It wasn’t a huge detractor for me, but may be for other readers.
Overall, this is an entertaining read with one of the sweetest and sexiest heroes ever! I recommend it! I rate it: 4 Stars. Advance copy provided by the author. **This title is available via Kindle Unlimited.
I loved Heartless by Winter Renshaw. Wasn't as excited about Reckless, but it was alright. I hated Priceless. Daphne was too whiny and had way too many mood swings. If I ever see the word "chuff" again it will be too soon. I've read over 200 books in the last year. None of them used the word. Renshaw used it 10 times.
"Ein Mietwagen. Zwei Gestrandete. Dreitausend Meilen.
This review may contain SPOILERS! Unfortunately, this book was the weakest link in this series! I did not like the story as much as the first or second one, and that's partly because of the writing (or translation). I feel like it was packed with cliches which made me cringe/eye-roll quite a lot, and I just didn't get a connection to either Daphne, nor Cristiano. In comparison, I really liked Dante from the second book, and for that matter, Ace from the first one as well, but Cristiano was promoted as a carefree and playboy-vibey kind of guy and he was just too serious for me. Like, I get that his character grew with what he experienced but the story just dealt with it way too fast and it felt like "Oh yeah, yet another dude, that had experienced loss in life, moving on". The story was okay, but nothing too remarkable and I didn't get any soulmate-vibes from these too either (such as the fortune-teller said, "yeah, well you're wrong"). It was an okay book with an okay ending, moving on! 3/5 stars
Aghhh. I'm all about that slow-burn kind of love but there just wasn't enough sexual tension in this one to make it feel like a romance! The story starts off with Daphne having a sassy, banter-y, hot little run-in with Cristiano at the airport and whattaya know, they bump into each other again at the hotel because their flight was canceled and they need a place to crash. Circumstances force these two sexy strangers to share a room. P.S it's New Year's Eve so I'm just like ohhhh yess! This is what I'm here for and I'm so excited!
Well, we get into it and not as much steam as I anticipated. That's okay! I can wait a bit. That just makes it better. Some back-and-forth and Daphne's failed hook-up attempt with a dirtbag later and the steam is coming! I feel it! Here it is aaaanddd
We get a little bit and I was kind of underwhelmed. And that kind of sums up my feelings about this book. I was expecting lots of heat and angst and sexual tension considering the close quarters these two strangers were forced into and what I got was lots of getting-to-know-you conversation during car rides and fights that came up out of nowhere because Daphne feels Cris is such a know it all and ahh we need to get to our respective plans.
As if that weren't disappointing enough, my all time pet peeve happens because suddenly MISCOMMUNICATION. SILLY ASSUMPTIONS. NEEDLESS FIGHTS. Not just once but twice. And honestly, regardless of what Cristiano's history with was, can't you accept the fact that he is a grown-ass man and
All that said, I did read this really fast and I'm usually the slowest reader on Earth. I did skim the heck out of the final parts of the book but I will totally read Heartless because I've heard great things and maybe I set myself up for failure by not reading the other books in this series before starting. But I say if it's marked as a standalone, it should be able to be read as a standalone. Still, I will definitely be reading more of Winter Renshaw's books in the future. This one was just not for me.
Note: The word "chuff" was used 17 times in this book.
This book just got on my nerves. I hate writing negative reviews. But, IT WAS SO GOOD, and 3/4th of the way in, it just went downhill.
Oh boy, did it ever
It's ironic because there's even a quote in the book which is something along the lines of, it's not true love if they cannot weather storms together ( not a direct quote but it is in the same vein) AND that is exactly what she does at EVERY STORM. SHE RUNS.
Tl;dr- It was amazing and then it really wasn't *sigh*
I was excited that there was going to be a crossover book and I was not disappointed. I have found that with each book of Winter Renshaw's that I read, I enjoy more and more.
This is the book of Cristiano and Daphne and a "roadtrip". Both are trying to get home for major events, Daphne, the birth of her twin sister's child and Cristiano, the wedding of his friend.
Both are bound for the same flight and due to weather in the Northeast, their flight is cancelled. In a series of events, they find they are both running into each other at every turn.
When it becomes obvious that Daphne will not be able to fly out due to weather, she decides to rent a car and drive cross country. Crisitiano, is adamant that she should not drive alone and their journey toward home begins.
As they spend hour after hour in the car, they learn more about one another. Yet, there are certain things that both of them leave unsaid.
When they truth behind the way they are who they are comes out, it is something they will have to work through in order to find their HEA.
I looked forward to this kind of story from Winter Renshaw. Something that is engaging right off the bat and a slow burn romance for about the first half of the story, I've come to enjoy her short and sweet reads. They're not deep, and the characterization isn't entirely there, but I enjoy them nonetheless. This one was a little angstier than the first two and I didn't like the H as much as his two brothers from #1 and #2 of this series. He was a bit of a tomcat, while the two older Amato brothers we've met have always been one woman guys. There aren't any intimate details of the H with ow in the past, and I'm grateful for that.
I didn't like the fact that the h was so honest and open about everything while the H kept everything important from her. It bothered me, but I suppose he did redeem himself in the end.
Cristiano is the Amato brother who is always on the road. Happy-go-lucky compared to his other brothers, he lives an adventurous life, flitting from place to place, across the globe, experiencing life to the fullest wherever he goes, with whomever he encounters. Love? Settling down? No, those don't factor into his thinking. Not until he has a chance meeting with a blonde beauty in a snowed-in airport. Their plane to the east coast is cancelled, and the last room in the last hotel around was snatched from under his nose by none other than the blonde - Daphne, twin of Delilah, who we met in Filthy (Rixton Falls #3 -another fantastic Winter Renshaw story). The two are well matched in terms of wanting to travel and have great adventures, but they both have secrets and reservations about falling in love - again - since both have suffered from broken hearts. A beautiful story - I did not want it to end!

Mein Fazit
I love this author! I am glad to have audible-escape to listen to this one. Aiden Snow is a complete favorite of mine... i have a HUGE CRUSH on him. I love this series... the Amato brothers are fantastic.
WOW!!! This was one crossover that was totally crazygood and Im so glad it happened. I wasn’t sure it was going to be a good thing but when the book started, I was immediately hooked and hooked big time. Daphne and Cristiano are both trying to get to the east coast for their important events in each other’s lives-they are not wanting to get stuck together but that is the case since where there at , there is heavy snow and they both need to get out and get going. They get stuck together and decided to road trip it to their destinations. We get to really see who each one is during this car trip. Neither is looking for a relationship but they are having a really hard time resisting the chemistry, the pull toward one another. I was on pins and needles, because I was being pulled along on this ride and I was so rooting for both of them to find their way to each other. I felt so bad for Daphne because of her past relationships and how she was treated. She really deserves love and in Cris, she now has that chance IF he will open up and let her in. Cris is definitely an alpha male who sees Daphne and wants her. He is resisting to the pain and angst in his past yet the longer they are together, the harder he is having staying away from her. All I can say is, when these two release those barriers and let go of the past and of the secrets, then any chance they have , their relationship will blossom. Will Cris want to settle down, or will his wanderlust keep him on the go ? And will the secrets that are reveled end any chance of a relationship between these two?
I have to say, I fell totally for Cris and Daphne. These are two people who have suffered and are in someway broken inside. Their journey to where they need to go home is really a journey toward finding true love and neither party realizes it until it matters. That is what I love about Winter, she writes her stories in such a way that her stories draw you in and BAM, you are hooked and never want to go back, you just want more. This was a beautiful and emotional story with a lovely ending.
My rating: 4.5 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
It's my first encounter with the Amato brothers and all I have to say is wow, I can't imagine there's more of this amazing and sexy guys hiding somewhere in other stories.
These two characters find themselves in a tricky situation and decide to team up to get home. Since the moment they met there are sparkles going off every time they interact and even though at first it seems as if they are totally different and could never get along, they find a rhythm that works and I couldn't get enough of them.
The way in which Daphne gets him to open up was impressive, she is the kind woman that he can't seem to say no to, she is real and says what she thinks, she is herself all of the time and Cristiano finds that irresistible, since he hasn't met anyone like her before.
When they decide to go on this crazy road trip, they get this incredible chance to really get to know each other with no pressure.
Both of them have been running away from their pasts, and since they both have been hurt, they split whenever things get tough. But there's no running now, they are stuck together and that might just be the best thing that could happen to both of them.
They changed everything for each other without realizing the exact moment that happened, but it has, and now they need to find a way to be each others happily ever after.
Things get complicated before they can get better, their fears play a really important part, can they let them go and find happiness? Or will they quit and leave before they can get hurt?
A really fun and beautiful story, about opening your heart again and letting go of your fears caused by past heartache.
Move Ace and Dante because there is a new Amato brother that has stolen my heart. Daphne and Cristiano are both trying to get to the east coast for an important event. They get stuck together and decided to road trip it to their destinations. Neither is looking for a relationship but can they stop the pull they feel towards each other?
I really loved this story. Daphne and Cristiano are so perfect for each other. I really wondered how this story would go since they would only be together for a few days and would those moments together be enough for them to settle down. I really loved Daphne. She loves with her whole heart and that sometimes means she falls too fast for a guy. In Filthy I was really rooting for her and Weston so Cristiano had to really win me over. I loved him. He has a bad case of wanderlust and I really wondered what had him unable to settle down. He had his secrets to be revealed. One was shocking and the other was cute. I just cant say enough how much I love this book. I like the Amato brothers/Rixton Falls cross over too. Definitely recommend this book.
It’s like this was written by someone else entirely.
I’ve read all the books leading up to this one and I loved them all. I thought I was going to love this one too but I was very wrong. The previous books all had smart, strong, independent women and then came Daphne who has none of the above. She could’ve passed for a 16 year old mentally. She threw temper tantrums constantly and actually yelled at people for trying to her help her. She jumped to conclusions so many times and instead of asking about these things she just ghosted or walked away. How many times does this guy have to tell you he doesn’t love another girl before you believe him? Let not even get into the fact that she acted like a child yet he chased after her anyways. She invades his privacy and eavesdrops on his conversations learning only the bare minimum, runs away and he chases her down like he did something wrong. I hated this book and it was all because of Daphne.
Wow, this is one crossover novel which I have been waiting for, and Winter certainly did not disappoint. When Cristiano and Daphne are stuck at the airport when their flight is cancelled, they end up staying in a hotel room together. The next day they begin their road trip to get home. Daphne need to get home urgently as her twin sister is about to give birth, and Cristiano for his best friend’s wedding. These two are so at ease and perfect for each other, that the road trip is full of fun. Will they make it in time?? You really need to read this one for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Winter is such a unique and talented author, that each and every one of her stories captivates me, and has me intrigued throughout. I cannot wait to read what she brings to us next. I recommend this authors work for all! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book!
The Best Things in Life are Priceless! The crossover book that had me crazy with anticipation! Per Winter Renshaw usual, it DID NOT disappoint! Everything about Cristiano is sexy, dreamy and makes you want to know everything inside his heart he's hiding. And Daphne, everything about her character was SO relatable. I was able to truly connect with her character on a deeper level. Priceless is a story that makes you really think about life, living for the moment, and just really gets you into your feelings. At the same time, you have the pleasure of taking a journey through one heck of a love story that is Cristiano and Daphne. Along with one horrible book hangover when you finish. I received a copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Priceless is a fantastic book that will take you on a wonderful journey and keep you turning those kindle pages right up to the last page. This book is a Rixton falls /Amato brothers crossover and I for one couldn't wait to read it when Winter announced it. She definitely didn't disappoint with this book as it was brilliant and definitely worth the 5 star rating. This book is about Daphne Rosewood and Cristiano Amato who are thrown together and made to spend a few days in close proximity what then unfolds is a magical journey that mends broken souls. This book had me shedding a couple of tears in the epilogue. It was a beautiful ending. You have fools love and then you have their love ❤
DNF 25%. I could not get into this one. It's slow. Started off kind of ridiculous with flights cancelled and rather than wait a day for anew flight, the idea to drive across country in January sounded like a better idea. Apparently they are both adventurous and can jet set anywhere without thinking of money. I was told all if this rather than "experienced" it. They are both supposed to be "complex". I gave up when at 25% I figured out they were going to spend the next 50% making assumptions about each other rather than talk like adults and probably both screw other people during this time apart yet think of each other the whole time.
