How could a handsome and intelligent rancher ever notice a poor seamstress who thinks she has nothing to offer? Ginny has loved Chad from afar for as long as she can remember. It isn’t until she befriends Chad’s sister, the newly wed Lindsay that she finally meets face to face with Chad. With Lindsay’s encouragement, Ginny throws caution to the wind and breaks the shell she has cocooned herself in. What she doesn’t know is that the man who is finally noticing her is engaged to another and that simple yet meaningful kiss under the mistletoe will become one of the most painful and humiliating events of her life. Even if Chad were to be free, could she believe in his fidelity or will she see him as a dandy who takes what he wants without conscience. How could she be so wrong about someone she has held in high esteem for so many years?
We think of the days of yesteryear as simpler times, but were they? Enter Hebby Roman’s tale of A MISTLETOE CHRISTMAS and feel the frustrations of the times, the hard work each day brought and the effort it took just to survive, particularly as a woman under the fear of constant scrutiny. You will love Ginny, that woman has a hidden tiger just waiting to be cut loose! She is insecure, lonely, but once kindled her character is a brilliant statement to the strength of women “back in the day.” Chad, okay, he did have a rather big secret, no two ways about it, but was his intent to fool everyone? Can he help that the hidden beauty of mind, body and spirit that lived within Ginny drew him like a moth to the flame? Great story telling, sweet romance, tarnished souls, could there be redemption during the season of miracles? Hebby Roman scores again with atmosphere, characters and, geez, those darn sheep. ;)

Ginny Brown has loved Chad Mackillian for as long as she can remember but not even the help of your best friend Chad's sister is enough to sway Chad of breaking off an engagement that even he doesn't truly want but feels honor bound to keep. Sometimes all it takes is some Mistletoe to totally change things around. A great book with an explosive ending that is only fitting for this the last in Hebby Roman most wonderful A West Texas Christmas trilogy loved loved all these books
A Mistletoe Christmas brought Ginny her true love, Chad into her arms. She’s loved Chad forever, but his plans to marry the neighbors daughter in order to increase his ranches spread has clouded his mind. But with a little help from some mistletoe and Chad and Bart’s enemies coming back around, the cloud has been lifted and Chad has finally realized who his heart belongs too. A very beautiful and inspiring Christmas book that truly warms the heart and satisfies your soul.
I rated this 4.5. This had the perfect amount of angst and sweet romance. This is the kind of book you want to read all the way through in one sitting. I would highly recommend.
A mixture of the rough old Western with equal parts romance
If you read the previous book in this series you will recognize sections of this book but overall it is told from an alternate viewpoint. This is Ginny's story. She has loved Chad since she wore long skirts but never felt worthy of him, or even noticed. When Chad's sister Lindsay returns to the ranch, Ginny finds her first woman friend and opportunities to get closer to Chad.
This book is more a mixture of the rough old Western with equal parts romance. It is a well written adventure with feminine wiles. Tumultuous emotions as honor is tested and perceived wrongs are avenged. Gunplay and dance are both welded as weapons.
Exciting and interesting. Fun to see same events, if you have read the previous book, from a different perspective. As with the previous book, the tension rises as we need the end, surpassing the second book of the series. These are character driven novels.
I voluntarily reviewed this book I received through Readingalley.
A Mistletoe Christmas, despite the title, is a great book to read in any season. I certainly didn't read it during Christmas, but found it very enjoyable and satisfying. I think mainly due in part to the amazing characters that Hebby Roman had created. Though this is a romance, other themes such as friendship was explored, especially between Ginny and Lindsay (the hero's sister), and I don't usually see this in the books I read, as the female friendships there are usually already established.
I haven't read the previous book, but it didn't mar my enjoyment, so I can definitely say that this is a standalone. I'm looking forward to read the author's other books.
Loved the triology. Everything fit together nicely. Just enough suspence. Romance. Mystery. Camaraderie. Recommend adding this author to your historical romance list if she is not already there

This was a lovely romance about two couples, one who entered into a marriage of convenience, and the other that developed until the heroine learned the man she loved had betrothed himself to another to join ranch properties. The author created likable characters with strengths and weaknesses, and a good plot. A fun Christmas read in this series.
Every woman deserves to be treated honorably; even when passions run hot and high. Outlaws abound in the West and often are cowards who blame others when justice is served, they harbor false grudges and ill will against innocents. In this case heroes step forward and save their loved ones.
