“Please be mindful of the environment and use only natural materials,” like sequins, electric lights, and hot glue.
“And then the most magical thing happened. A butterfly alighted on the trunk just above the door as if to let us know that our fairy garden was fairy approved!” That’s a fake butterfly. It’s really obviously a fake butterfly, it’s in several different shots from several different angles and in none of those does it look at all like a real butterfly.
I normally think of all-natural materials when I think of fairy houses, but I fell in love with some of the tiny furniture and decorations this book gives its readers a DIY for. A tiny firefly cage? Adorable! Felt party bunting? Yes please! I might be getting my own copy just so I can make my own adorable miniatures!
Magical Miniature Gardens & Homes by Donni Weber is a book I purchased on my Kindle so I could put together a Fairy Garden. It is something I’ve wanted to do since I saw this little house on a book at the library. I found the fairy house on Amazon and I found the book through Pinterest. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures in the book. The first chapter was very informative and helpful. I read some useful tips and I put together this cute garden for the side of my house. Now I need to find the perfect fairy for the garden.
I really liked this "craft and garden" book the miniatures are easy to make and if one is inventive enough can use this book to get new ideas from. It even has a a couple of ideas for making it like a lot to give as a gift.
Projects range from single tiny accessories to full fairy homes. Many of the projects can be made with found or salvage parts with a bit of creativity from the crafter.
Fun book on many DIY Fairy Garden/House projects you can make from scraps. Very creative, worthwhile items with easy directions to make them. Gorgeous pictures of finished projects and just an overall fun book to have.
The idea of creating these little 'scapes fascinates me. However, finding places to showcase them and maintaining them from dust, etc. puts a sufficient damper on the notion to save me the trouble. So I satisfy myself by looking at what others have done.
