Josef owns and manages a caravan park in NSW, Australia with his wife, Sandy. Born in Germany, he emigrated to Australia in 1964 with his parents and two brothers. He began writing at an early age, but only became serious about producing a self-published work recently. He writes for the pure enjoyment of it and will not be quitting his day job any time soon. He has written in many genres, producing a biographical account and a fiction novel, but is passionate about science-fiction.
Other worlds and particularly, other sentient species, holds a profound interest for the author; a subject he hopes to include in upcoming novels.

Forgive and forget?

I could not put this book down. The fight for survival after a plane crash takes many twists and turns. Well written and unpredictable.

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway signed by the author and I thank him for this.
This book was well written with an overall storyline that was very interesting and led to quite of few twists. It is difficult to review this novel without giving away the entire plot. I enjoyed reading about the descriptions of the main setting and the survival techniques which were implemented. I did struggle however, with the characters in this story. I found them to be rather unlikeable, though they did continue to hold my curiosity and attention.

I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway. It was light reading but definitely kept my interest. A rather convoluted tale of hate, revenge and finally redemption with a completely unexpected ending. Mark's ingenuity and rage kept him alive but saving Louise's baby eventually (and it took years) lead him to find peace and let go of the rage within.

Minutes after Mark's girlfriend confesses she's pregnant by another man, the plane they are travelling on crashes. So begins an exciting psychological thriller that takes the reader on a journey full of dramatic twists, right through to its surprise ending. On the way, Mark learns a lot about himself - and others...

"I received this book via Goodreads giveaway in return for the following honest review and I thank Josef for this.

Honesty is always the best policy although sometimes it makes things difficult. I did not really enjoy this book, I read the whole thing because of the above mentioned giveaway.

The biggest issue I had technically was with the structure. The protagonist's name is Mark and it would seem that ninety percent of all paragraphs started with his name - it became very much like reading a fact file rather than a story. Secondly, there was far too much Australian slang and colloquialisms in the text that leant an immaturity to the writing.

Stor
y wise I found that the desserted island plot gleaned a lot from the movie Castaway featuring Tom Hanks and the television show Lost to the point that Wilson, the volleyball from Castaway, is actually discussed a few times.

It would be easy for me to say that I raised the rating to a two star because I am too soft to give a one star rating to a fledgling author, but that is not the case. Dumped earned the two star based on the opening chapter. I read the first chapter and I was drawn in, the book could have gone anywhere and I genuinely wanted to find out where. The ending had its own surprises too but unfortunately they were easily predicted as the book drew to a close."
