Just finished this booklet. This is a joke. Two quotes from the book sum it up quite well: 1. "Yes, this book covers everything you need to know about the blockchain!" - The book has < 70 pages, font size is quite big. Does it cover everything? Of course not. And if the author thought it did, maybe they just didn't know enough about the blockchain to write a "book" about it. This was an online purchase, otherwise I wouldn't have bought a book that has that sentence on its cover.
2. "If you feel like smart contracts are for you, and you don't have a clue as to where to start programming one, my advice would be either to hire somebody or watch some tutorial on YouTube." - I don't even want to comment on this.
Also: DID YOU REALLY THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO PRINT CODE IN JUSTIFIED TEXT? And btw, the code isn't even good.
There's one good thing about the book, though: if you have never ever heard about blockchain or bitcoin, the author throughs in some terms here and there that you can look up later (that is, if you care for an actual explanation).
Some good info, including a description for the non-technical. Would seriously benefit from a proofreader... Lots of grammatical errors. Lacks the deep technical info on blockchain I was seeking, but did have interesting detail on smart contracts.
This author desperately needs an editor. This book deals with important info about a technology with tremendous possibilities. But the writing is so poor -- fractured syntax, pointless punctuation, sentence fragments -- you name it. This manuscript could be an exemplar of how not to write.
Please issue a second edition after you find a good editor, Mr. Adams. This topic is important, but this book trivializes it. The true understanding the author posses is obscured by the atrocious writing.
Nice introduction with code examples, needs some proof reading
This is a nice summary of blockchain with sample code providing tangible examples for programmers. I gave it three stars because of the extreme number of grammatical errors in the text. There are so many errors it is hard to read at times, and could be greatly improved with a good proof reading.
Waste of time - mechanics and history are beginner level, the promised used cases are limited and very superficially introduced, technical implementation is some coding to create simple smart contracts. "Bonus" : lot of grammar / spelling errors.
