*Once upon a time, this tale was titled "Until You Made me a Bitch". Now retitled, repackaged, and revamped at the end; the former part 1 & 2 are now combined as THIS STANDALONE.*
Jakia thought her young girl love and innocence could turn set-up thug Spencer ‘Spade’ Johnson into the man of her dreams. But the fairytale she lived in her mind was soon knocked straight once he introduced her to the power of his fist. He abuses her, disrespects her, and manipulates her into believing she's not worth anything more than the hell he's created for her within their home.
When him and his comrade cousin Rocko uses Jakia in a dangerous mission leaving one man dead and the Detroit police searching for clues; how will her love play out with a tainted and ice cold heart?! Jakia goes on a rollercoaster ride of emotions in this drama filled tale of undeserved love and loyalty…that sends a strong message that no abused woman should be DOWN FOR TOO LONG.
The drama pulled me in and kept me on the edge of my seat. The abuse that Nakia suffered as a child and into adult hood had me all in my feelings and wanting to lay hands on someone, especially Spade. I'm so glad that he got what he deserved. I actually shed a few tears at all the abuse. I had to remind myself that this was only a book and not real. I really enjoy reading storylines such as this one that pulls me in as part of the book. I guess that I could really relate because I too am a survivor of physical abuse. Kudos to the author for touching on a subject that is not often talked about, but real.
I'm glad Spade got his karma becuz he was abusing Jakia & treating her like a how instead of someone he's supposed to love but over all it was a very good book even though I would've like to know how everything turned out becuz the ending left a lot of unanswered questions
Jakia was definitely down for too long. A moment of weakness gave her a lifetime of regret. Spade should have been dealt with long before it happened. Rocko at least had sense to treat her like family. Xavier was a Godsend too little too late.
In a nutshell, this story was good. Jakia was dealt a dirty hand by not having her mother's guidance and hooking up with a ruthless maniac. In the end, you could see a glimmer of hope for her. The editing was awful!! I expected better because I love this author
I thought, that Kia was going to find out later that the test results were wrong but either way it turned out good for her. Her mom, finally made a change. Sometimes you have to go through a bad relationship to appreciate a good relationship. 😁
Spade was dirty. Kia could have walk away if she really want to. I need Xavier in my life. I wonder what happen to Kia in the end. Spade was wrong on how he did Kia
I read a couple of chapters before I realized that I read this story a few years back. The story was so good that I happily read it again. It was well written with a lot of drama and action. I'm a true fan of T.C. Littles, and this book explains why!!
