Cara Addison

Born and raised in Southern Ontario, Cara Addison has used drive, tenacity, ambition, and out-of-the-box thinking to ascend the Canadian corporate ladder to shatter the proverbial glass ceiling. As the CEO of a government firm, Cara prefers to be out in the trenches, working to provide solutions rather than sitting behind a desk. Over her fifteen-year career, Cara has given back to her community, supporting her philanthropic interests as she provides strategic governance on numerous boards of directors.

While Cara loves to succeed in her work, it was an impromptu challenge to herself that led her to sit down one day and write a piece of fiction that was worthy of publication. Being an avid daydreamer since childhood, she transferred her own wit and humor to the narrative and dialogue of the characters that resided in her imagination. Words poured onto the page and within weeks, she had a full-length novel with characters, events, and situations that were influenced by the people and places in her everyday life.

In typical fashion, Cara found herself submitting ‘Passion, Power, and Privilege‘ to a publisher just thirty days after Kate Callahan and Bradley Taylor materialized in her imagination. Having boldly submitted her first manuscript she began writing another while balancing the demands of work and a young family. Remarkably, Cara has managed to juggle her career, motherhood, and the creative process of writing. In the past twelve months, this literary newcomer has written and published a total five full-length novels. According to this prolific author, a sixth is in the works.

As the mother of two young daughters, Cara involves her girls as she indulges in outdoor adventures, shares her love of new travel destinations, tends to the backyard vegetable patch, and uses those fresh ingredients in her everyday cooking.

With a growing catalogue of novels, Cara uses her social media savvy to engage and interact with readers. Her playful, clever, and sometimes naughty banter resonates with male and female readers alike.

Cara’s novels include:
Passion, Power, and Privilege
Going The Distance
The Fortuitous Pen [Sequel to Going The Distance]
Every Second Weekend
Loans Lust and Lies

Genre: Erotic Romance
Author: Cara Addison
Book: Going the Distance
My Star Rating: 5
Will I read I read it again? Yes

Intro: When Austin Campbell travels from Toronto to sunny San Diego to showcase her newest novel at a convention, she’s hoping to squeeze in some sightseeing into her business trip. Her plans change when she meets Brett Tanner, an investment banker from New York. Their instant attraction to each other leads to a week of fun, frolicking sex.

They learn that it may be more difficult than they realized to end their weeklong escapade when they have to leave each other at the airport to return to their individual lives. As ambitious professionals, they work all week so that they can take turns travelling the 500 miles between New York and Toronto to find out if their budding relationship has what it takes to go the distance.

Grief, betrayal, and distance are no match for this sexy couple. As they grow closer, Brett quickly learns that Austin is an intensely sexual lover. It doesn’t matter if they are on Canadian or American soil; they indulge in one playful encounter after another.

Brett falls in love with Austin because she is an intensely sexual lover, but also because she is determined, fearless, poised, ambitious, and fiercely loyal. Austin not only shows her love for Brett between the sheets, but by providing her intelligent, accomplished, and handsome lover with the focused love and loyalty that he craves.
Man this book was hot, hot, and hot! I loved how Brett loved reading Austin’s books and then telling his guys friends to read a certain part of the books.
I liked all the characters in this book. There was a lot of hot sex and almost from the beginning and all the way through the book. Great read and I can’t wait to read more of these authors’ books!!
What I hated was the ending! Come on. It was a horrid ending. It felt like it was not finished and short. I really wish it was pulled out just a little bit longer so we can see them move past the move and all.

I received this book for an honest review.

Can a one night stand turn into a lifetime? Cara Addison explores this in her wonderful book Going the Distance. Brett is the hot hunky guy we all wish to meet and Austin is the strong independent woman we all hope to be. They meet by chance and it's instant attraction but how long will it last?

This book was amazing, I LOVED it. Cara's use of humorous dialog between the two main characters had me literally laughing out loud! There are struggles for these two but the drama is kept to a minimum but the sex scenes (fans self) oh my, the sex scenes are HOT! I highly recommend this book and give it 4.5 stars with 4 hands down the pants!

Austin Campbell works in marketing by day and is an author by night. She is in San Diego for a book signing convention. Brett Tanner is a banker at a prestigious New York company. He is in San Diego for vacation. Sitting by the pool, they meet. Brett starts the conversation with the wonderful line “You have beautiful breasts” to which she responds “I know” Before long Austin asks, “Are you hard?’. The words were out of her mouth before she realized she was speaking out loud.
‘Pardon?’ he asked, following her gaze to the ample package between his legs. ‘No. Should I be?” This of course leads to Austin sharing her newest release with Brett; did I mention it’s erotic? These two don’t play around; they head straight to the hotel room. The rest I will leave in the book.

This is a wonderful story of the immediate connection made between two people. Both individual are strong, independent, driven and successful. Their commonalities provide a basis for their relationship but can also cause problems. The easiness of their time together is sweet and the banter between the two is hysterical at times. Let’s not forget the sex, OMG the sex is HOT!! Austin is a tigress between the sheets leading Brett to dub her “kitten”. Cara Addison does a wonderful job of bringing these two characters to life. I absolutely fell in love with Brett and Austin is someone I would want as a friend. Not everything is perfect with these two, as in life they both carry baggage from their past. You will need to read this book to find out if that baggage gets in the way. I really enjoyed this book and give it 4.5 stars and 4 hands down the pants.

I don't normally have the patience to read through erotic novels/novella's as I am very much a fan of shorter, snappier stories, but when I got hold of 'Going the Distance' by Cara Addison, my boat was certainly floated. Cara has created two amazing characters in Brett and Austin, both very attractive, successful in their chosen careers and in need of some serious TLC (and more). From the moment they first hook up, their many, varied and exciting encounters are captured with real passion. I have a feeling that the author must have enjoyed writing every single chapter. I would definitely recommend!

Hot sex and lots of it, between two very attractive people. An afternoon fling starts beside the hotel pool, quickly moves upstairs, lasts until morning and then becomes a week-long affair. They enjoy each other in every position and place imaginable. When it's time for them to leave they don't want to part.

They continue the affair alternating between her home in Toronto and his in New York. The sex is, if anything, even hotter as their time is shorter and the relationship... (Oops. Don't want to spoil the plot.)

Rating: 4.6 of 5. Minus one because these lovers are too perfect. (He's handsome, successful, self-confident; she's lean, curvy, just as confident and succeeding at two careers simultaneously. They fit their designer clothes perfectly.) Plus one half because they grow into real people, with real issues, as the relationship gets more serious. And plus a tenth in case we need to round to the nearest whole number.

From the first chapter, this book is SIZZLING! Brett and Austin meet in a surprising way, but they sizzle between the sheets, on the couch, at the night club, etc. I love how she inspires through her sex life with Brett through her writing and that Brett and her inspire her writing. The passion they have for each other inspires my husband and I as well.
I love Austin's boldness and how she is so comforatable with her own sexuality. This story has some very adventurous sex scenes and two very passionate people, who want it often and anywhere they happen to be. It is a read that should require a warning that it may be too hot to read in public or you may be squirming in your seat.

This was a really interesting read; not my normal genre but I won it and the author was so nice! I just had to check it out. It starts out really hot and stays that way. At first I thought it would be plotless and just filled with steamy scenes but that isn't the case here. She manages to utilize these well developed characters in a romance plot that works well alongside the all the steamy scenes. I find myself enjoying Brett and Austin both and wanting to know more about them.

This novel is also very well written and well edited. It seems Addison has stumbled onto quite a talent.

Austin is in marketing, but off hours, she writes erotica. Brett is in investment banking. They meet while on vacation. Within minutes, the are in bed together. When the vacation ends, they must decide if the distance between Toronto and New York is too much.

This is a solid book with wonderful characters and a well-developed plot. However, it is the sex that makes this book! It is packed full of sex scenes, and they are HOT! I admit to rereading several of them.

Cara Addison's "Going The Distance" is a sexy read. The sex scenes are plentiful and hot. I love the chemistry between Austin and Brett. There's hardly a page in there that doesn't have hot sex on it. There is a lot of variety and the nookie scenes never feel repetitive. I am definitely going to see what else Cara Addison has out there to read!
