Even the hottest love can turn a girl cold-blooded…

Life's tough for a vampire thief on the run—just ask Pandora Scott, she knows. Four years ago she ran away from home after everyone she loved betrayed her. But now her annoyingly grown up (and handsome) ex boyfriend is stalking her, begging her to return. A mysterious vamp with a particularly dangerous (and sexy) stare keeps popping unexpectedly into her life. The extremely powerful head vampire of New York is hunting her down because she may or may not have broken into his highly-secure, highly-secretive personal vault. And the fate she's been trying to outrun? Well, it's about to catch up. Because even a super-speedy vamp with the ability to disappear can't escape her own destiny.

A brand new spinoff to the Midnight Fire series! Fans will enjoy special appearances from Kira, Luke and Tristan while falling in love with the new characters and new adventure of Midnight Ice.

*Please note, you do not need to read the books of Midnight Fire to enjoy Frost (Midnight Ice Book 1). They are two standalone series with character crossover.

I used to read lots of paranormal romance, maybe that is the reason why I felt the plot was something I already had seen, as most of these kind of books fall on the same categories of hot girl/hot guy fell in love but for some thing or a other fell off but after some time they encounter each other again and sparks fly but there is also a third figure on the game. And the plot, there is also a plot. In this case, the fact that the girl is a vampire who can manipulate shadows to disappear and has been stealing artifacts from other vampires who want vengeance, and also a vampire who has been killed. And also the fact that the titans, the "group" she belonged to wants her back. And enter the ex who is the one sent to retrieve her. And Sam, the sexy vampire who plays the third one on the love triangle of sorts.

The book is some sort of spin off of a series, but you can read it without having read the series. For me it was another paranormal romance book, nothing new under the sun, and didn't make me care about the characters or the story.

Aaaand just at the very begining she says that vampires are like the Titans. And then she goes on rambling and messes up grandly by confussing the Titans with the Gods. Zeus was a God, not a Titan. Cronos was a Titan. Zeus was his son, the first of the Gods of Mount Olympus. And this is on page 3.
Sorry, but I love Mythology. If you have a grandilocuent vamp who likes to babble, at least... make her informed so she doesn't sound like a petulant child who doesn't know sh*t.

Oh, that was quite a crazy ride. Loved the book, just loved it. Pandora the main character was on an emotional rollercoaster her whole life. The day she was born she lost her mother, and was left with a bastard of a father who didn't bother with her. Growing up she has 1 friend, the other adults just stare at her and don't let their kids near her. In school the other kids ignore her. Then one day her life falls apart and she runs away and keeps on running. Many things happen during the 4 years she's away from home, MANY THINGS. Then her life falls apart again, (you can't even imagine) I cried with her omg this book was really something. Strong characters, ones you love and ones you love too hate. The story moves right along at a fast pace, but I'll tell you it grabs you by the shirt collar and pulls you into the story, pronto. And don't think it let's go once you're done reading it, nope it's still got you, it's in your head, you NEED to find out what's next, what happens. Excellent everything, love, love loved this book. Recommend to everyone.

Frost is a Vampire book with a difference!
It was so nice to read a Vampire book with a unique twist.
I love Vampire books and this one in particular caught my eye. The cover is beautiful and extremely eye catching!

The 3 main Characters are Pandora who was once a Titan but now a Vampire Thief.
Jax who belongs to the Titans a group of trackers, hunters, bolters, and other groups tasked with capturing any misbehaving supernaturals. They are responsible for making sure the supernatural world remained totally secret and separate from the human realm.
Then Sam, who is a mysterious unknown force.

The story begins with Pandora and her journey as a Vampire Thief.
She is on the run from the Titans and many Powerful Vampires who she has stolen from for earnings.

Pandora is approached by another vamp and asked to steal a sword from a very powerful Vampire. She accepts!
Unbeknown to her it is a set up and things start to become a little sticky when she is captured.

It is here we get to meet Sam again.
Sam tries to help Pandora to become one with her unique powers.
We don't know who Sam is or why he stalks Pandora.
But we do know he is trying to help her escape.

Jax is Pandora's childhood best friend.
Before Jax became a Titan he made a promise to Pandora that he would refuse to become a Titan Tracker and run away with her.
However unfortunately this was not meant to be.

Four years later Jax has been tasked with finding Pandora and bringing her home to the Titans.

Jax rescues Pandora and so their eventful journey begins.

Pandora is so fierce and strong. She knew exactly what she wanted and even as a Vampire she tried to save others which isn't the "norm" for Vamps.

Jax and Pandora relationship is very temperamental. They know each other so well, a little too well at times!
There is a passionate chemistry brewing between the two of them and you can really feel the heat rise as the more time they spend together the more they sizzle. Which is becoming dangerous!

I loved Sam he was so mysterious and dark yet he had an undercurrent of power and masculinity and danger!
Even towards the end I still don't know who Sam is!
I wonder if he is Pandora's alter ego!
But I can't wait for the next instalment to find out.

Kaitlyn's writing was so strong just what is needed when writing about vampires.
I loved all the little twists.
Pandora's unique abilities are so different they are exciting.
I loved all the fresh supernatural characters the Titans and the Conduits they gave a different edge on the typical Vampire Hunter.
The idea of a cure for Vampirism is exciting.

Every page I was hooked it was fast  paced, Exciting, Action packed, Fresh and current, Strong exciting Characters, all the little twists and turns.

I CAN'T wait for the next book.
It was left on a cliffhanger and I want more! I need answers!

Highly recommend this not just to fans of Vampire books but to anyone who likes fantasy and supernatural books.
A fantastic, Fresh read, something for everyone.

I would like to thank the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this great Book.

I received this book from the Publisher for a fair review via NetGalley.

I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC of this novel, the start to a new series and one that I found an enthralling read. The heroine is Pandora Scott. She finally ran away from her home four years ago, leaving behind the titans with whom she’d never really felt she fit in with. The only person she had really related to there was her ex-boyfriend, Jax, a tracker who has now found her again. She’s changed dramatically since she left, she’s now a vampire who has upset many very powerful vampires as she used her ability to disappear and become one with the shadows to enable her to steal some of their priceless artefacts before releasing their captives . . . . Now, fate is catching up with her. Can she keep herself safe? Why has Jax come for her now? Can she protect him from her vampire enemies? Then, there's the mysterious Sam - who is he and what are his plans?

This is a fast paced, action packed paranormal adventure featuring vampires, conduits and titans. Apparently it is a spin off from an earlier series but I can vouch that you don’t need to have read that series to enjoy this novel. Having said that, I may well look it up once I’ve lowered my tbr pile! If you enjoy reading about people with very different paranormal skills involved good v evil battles with hidden agendas, like me you'll also probably love this story, too!

This is a story of teenage love, betrayal, double crossing and danger. Sometimes it is so important to remember but so difficult to do so when the memories have been locked away. Unlocking them, however, can end up locking yourself away. The cliffhanger ending has left me eager to read more and I can't wait for the sequel!

Rating: 4.5/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: LOVE the snark; awesome world-building; great use of dramatic mystery; the memory-loss trope has never been so well-written; I am spell-bound; Pandora is an entertaining, strong-willed, complex character; I didn't see that ending coming

Huge thanks to Kaitlyn Davis and YA Bound Book Tours for sending me a free digital copy of this title in exchange for an honest review! This in no way altered my read of or opinions on this book.

The alarm on her nightstand started beeping.

"I'm up, I'm up," she grumbled, speaking to herself as she slapped her hand down on the plastic clock, annoyed to be pulled from such a glorious train of thought--on her birthday, no less! But in her haste, she smashed the thing completely to pieces.

Somehow, the broken bits kept beeping.

Okay, penguins--I'm HOOKED. And I don't mean just hooked in an, I want to know what happens next, sort of way. I mean I am drooling for the rest of this series...and to pick up the series that this is apparently a spin-off for. I need--NEED--to know these characters better. And not just one of two of them, but all of them. Which...is bad news for my wallet, because that's more money out of my pocket for more books. But I don't care, penguins--I must read them all (I mean, you know...when I get the chance to).

Let's talk nitty gritty, yes? Starting with characters. Pandora is, without a doubt, one of the BEST uses of the memory loss/amnesia trope I've stumbled across in my reading career. I particularly enjoyed, as well, how snarky and vibrantly written she is. There were so many moments I found myself giggling at her reactions and antics. For a character with a type of memory loss, she doesn't let it hold her back--instead, she embraces life head-on. And she's SO strong-willed... she really helped to make this read an entertaining and mysterious journey for me! Of course, the rest of the characters are no slouches--each one is just as complex, pertinent to the story-line, and humorous to read about.

Lifting a single brow, he shook his head and turned back to the glass, drawing her attention to his golden hair in the process. It was long, longer than boys usually wore it these days, meaning he was probably old--vampire old. Intriguingly old--as in, why does he care what happens to her, a newbie vamp and a thief at that, old. It looked so smooth, so soft, so utterly graspable, like sexy, midkiss, passionately in the moment graspable.

Why am I thinking about this?

I should not be thinking about this.

Escape. Escape first, swoon second.

No wait, swoon never.

Resist the swoon at all costs.

The plot is action-packed and FILLED with drama. There were a few inconsistencies in terms of age in regards to Pandora, which both confused and sort of bothered me, but they weren't glaring enough to put much dent in my reading. The world-building is also complex and vividly rendered. While I have some questions--mostly about how the "magic" of this world works--I feel I was given sufficient enough information to understand what was happening. I imagine that, were I to pick up the original series right now, the questions I do have might be quickly answered, so this doesn't bother me too much.

This was, in the end, a snarky, action-packed, and entertaining read! The characters are vibrant and complex, the word-building is vivid, and the plot was a race to the climax from start to finish. I cannot WAIT to pick up more books from Kaitlyn Davis in the future, and definitely recommend this read to lovers of urban fantasy, memory loss/amnesia tropes, and widely humorous reads. The frost bit me deep, penguins; take off your gloves and feel the chill!

( I received and ARC copy form the author in exchange for my honest review )

When I finished reading this book, I dropped my kindle (may have slightly tossed) and said to my roommate.. "It's over... it end on a cliff hander, what the hell.!" My heart might be slightly damaged. I was not expecting that plot twist.

I am in love with Pandora, she is badass! I love how for the most part she repeatedly kicked Jax's ass. He deserved it, at first I felt sorry for him, but after the nuclear explosion that was the ending, I hope she rips his nuts off. And believe me, I was on his said for a bit, I totally bought into why he though she turned, but damn it, holy hell, Pandora had a right to run, to get away. Jax, I hope he meets a very bloody end.

Apart from me picking up what's left of my heart, this is an astounding work of fiction. I was drawn in form the start, I took my time reading because this is a short read; that and, this being an ARC I'm going to have agonize over having to wait that much longer for the next instillment. I need to know what happens!!! Aside from that pain in the ass, the plot is solid, the tone is light but dark at the same time. We're give action, blood, and theft; mix with a some witty banter and of course Pandora's vexing why of dealing with her emotions. (I'm not a fan of the running, though I do get why).

The pacing is fast, with just enough of a lull to get some background and some gushy romance. The battle scene's... Ah... be still my beating heart!

There is so much I can say about this book, so much I can try to explain as to why I believe you should read this book. So I'm not going to keep this long, so take my word for it. Read this book, it is something special, something much more then your typical vampire romance.

I highly recommend this book. Pandora is the MC you've been waiting to read about, she has broken down walls I didn't even know I had up regarding urban fantasy. I have a new love for it, and I believe you will to.

Happy Reading

Title: Frost
Author: Kaitlyn Davis
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy
Format: Ebook
Pages: 219
Rating: 5
Heat: 2

Thoughts: Wow, this was so hard to put down and it took off right from page one. Pandora is running but she's not sure from what or why. All she knows is that she can't be caught. I love the fact that we know just as much as she does, so each new piece of information creates just as many questions to the reader as it does to the character. I love when authors do that! The reader doesn't see the whole picture until the character does, and that's if the character ever does. It keeps me glued to the page, wanting those little nuggets of information. Of course the cliffhanger ending just makes you scream, but I have to say that I love cliffhangers and I also loath them (unless I have the next book and can start reading it immediately). And I can't wait to get the next one!!

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.

I downloaded this book after reading the synopsis, which piqued my interest at the time. In hindsight, I realized the description was misleading and was probably the reason for my disappointment.

The first half of the story was enjoyable until the MC started making stupid decisions, and then one stupid decision led to another, then another. And the the story just fizzled out for me.

The reason she gets caught; stupid decision.

She trusts Jax knowing he betrayed her once; stupid decision.

Goes to get the cure knowing she's endangering herself; stupid decision.

And doing all of this when you have self afflicted amnesia bought on by trauma by said ex; stupid decision.

The vampire/titan thing could have been played upon more, imho. But the special butterfly titan-turned-vampire ended up just being a vampire with a talent (which most of the vampires have anyway), so not very special after all.

I'm giving it three stars just for the first half of the book.

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**Frost is the first book in the young adult paranormal series, Midnight Ice series by author Kaitlyn Davis. The Midnight Ice series is a spin off series from her very popular, Midnight Fire series. I never read Midnight fire, but it has gotten tons and tons of rave reviews over the past few years. The series can each be read separately, but the books in each of the series do need to be read in order. They are all set in the same world and they do have some character crossover.

Frost is a story about Pandora, who is a titan turned vampire. But not a titan like you are probably thinking. What intrigued me most about Frost was how mysterious the whole set up of the story was. It has been ages since I have read a vampire story, but this one felt different right from the start. There are all sorts of protectors- people who protect humans from vampires. But they are not the tradiaonal hunters. There are conduits and trackers, and it was all very unique. It took me some time to be able to sort everything out. I'm not sure if more of the backstory is described in the other series or not, but there were a lot of new characters and types of creatures in this book that I had to make sense of. For instance, I wasn't quite sure what the titans were. I know they were also a form of protector, but they were different somehow too. It was all really cool. Mysterious but cool.

And then there was the romance. Jax is Pandora's old love interest, but like everyone else in her past she is deeply hurt and betrayed by them. Another big mystery of the story. I was dying to know what caused Pandora to run away and become a vampire in the first place. Not to mention she is pretty cool, herself. She can become in visible and she is a bada** vampire thief. Heck yea! I don't want to give away too much more of the story because part of the fun of this book was unpacking the mysteries. I still have plenty of questions that need to be answered in the next book, but let's suffice it to say I am intrigued. Frost started out a bit confusing, but stick with it because it gets a lot better once the story gains momentum. Frost was a good start to what looks to be an interesting series.

Thanks to Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for giving me this book to review.

Frost is a very enjoyable paranormal novel which is fast paced. It is set in the same world as the midnight fire series, I have not read them yet but it did not impact the story or my enjoyment of it. However, what stopped this book from getting a higher rating was that the story was predictable and not all that original.

Pandora is sassy and independent but is also hurting and is running from her past and while she is a thief, she is ultimately battling wrongs. Jax has good banter with Pandora and is protective but he is suffering from guilt. Sam is very mysterious and I felt I did not get to know him very well but I guess we will discover more in the next book.

This book ends on a cliff-hanger and I am looking forward to reading the next book Freeze. I would recommend Frost to fans of YA paranormal books.

I enjoy the paranormal genre but I had a lot of trouble with the main character. There was a lot of repetition in the book of thoughts she had. Pandora "Dory" is supposed to be twenty years old but she acts more like fifteen of sixteen. She has a guy actively wanting to be with her and always coming to her rescue but she thinks she never needs help. Sometimes she actually does. Her negativity was staggering and it was just a difficult read for me.

Pandora was born to be a Titan, a protector of humanity. Instead she runs away and becomes a vampire, a creature Titans hunt. Not only does she do this to rebel against her father but because she has intense power that she doesn't even fully understand. She also does it to spite Jax, her best friend and first love. She also decides to become a master thief, stealing from the highest ranked vampires from coast to coast. Little does she know there is a mysterious stranger with the same power guiding and directing her. Who is he and what does he want from her?

Book was given by the author for a fair and honest review.

I'm always skeptical of vampire stories, especially after twilight and the sparkle theory, but this book was a great read. Although, these vampires can go out in the sun...

Kaitlyn Davis has brought to life a wonderful mix of vampire lore and Greek mythology. Who would have thought a Titan would become a vampire? We follow Pandora as she takes a job to steal a sword from the leader of the New York Vampire clan. Of course, all hell breaks loos and the job is not what she thinks it is. An old boyfriend gets involved and as you can imagine, she falls for him again. There is also the ploy of a cure to vampirism.

The read was short. Took me one day to read. The only thing that I didn't like was that Pandora had super speed and super strength and invisibility and super senses. It was like she had every super power you could think of. It made me think that there was nothing that she couldn't do, so in turn, nothing that made me apprehensive.

I gave this read four stars out of five. It was entertaining, refreshing and full of action. I think vampire lovers will really like reading Frost by Kaitlyn Davis.

My Review

I really thought the storyline was different than other ones dealing with vampires. I really loved the main character of Pandora, and I love her name.
I felt so bad for her in regards to something's she discovered throughout the book. I thought she had a lot of spunk, and that she was pretty bad-ass.
Jax who is her ex, and first love, I am not sure about at all. I don't know if his good, bad, or what. Hopefully things will become more clear in the next book.
The person I am really interested in is Sam, his not in the book much. But when he is, things get very interesting. I really hope he plays a bigger role in the next book. How the book ended, I am sure, that he will be in that one more. At least I hope he will.
When I first got the book and started reading it, at first I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get into the book. After about 25 to 30 pages, I know I was in for one hell of a ride. After that the action never stopped.
The ending of course ended in one hell of a cliffhanger, and I really can't wait to find out what happens next. And hoping for a lot of Sam in the next one.
I will leave you with an excerpt, of why I have a thing for Sam and why I want to know so much more about this very intriguing man.

Excerpt All she wanted to do now was forget. Forget Jax, forget everything he'd stirred up, forget her birthday. So, she downed another bloody cocktail, this time O-negative. And another after that. She let the feeding frenzy take over, let the high of fresh life wash through her.She drank. And danced. And lost herself in the blood and the music and the touch of other cold bodies just like hers, searching for that little spark of life, reveling in it. "You look good enough to eat," a sultry voice whispered in her ear. Pandora whipped around lightning fast, flashing her fangs. "I bite."The man smiled, lips practically dripping with sin. "Me too."Normally, this was when she'd punch and run. Seduction wasn't really her thing. It just made her think of another boy and another time she'd never get back. But tonight was different. Tonight she wanted to be free. Tonight she was determined to move on, to move forward. So she grinned back, taking the stranger in. And really, a girl could do worse, much worse. He was tall, broad, with bright golden hair that seemed almost aflame in the darkness of the club. His vampire-blue eyes were just as bright as hers, flashing with unabashed hunger, brazen want. His skin, though, was what really caught her eye. It was sun-kissed and bronzed, not pallid, not washed out by his ebony shirt. Somehow he looked almost warm to the touch. Before she could stop herself, Pandora lifted her fingers, stretching for the triangle of hard skin at the base of his throat, exposed between two sets of open buttons. He stepped swiftly to the side. The darkness seemed to follow, wisps of ebony clinging to his frame, undulating with his every movement."Not yet," he murmured, never once taking his eyes off her. The longer he held her gaze, the more familiar it seemed to become, as though she'd seen those eyes before, as though this wasn't the first time they had caressed her body."Have we met?" she asked. His smile deepened, filling with secrets she could tell he had no intention of spilling. "Not like this.""Like what then?"But he looked away without answering, sweeping his stare down to her lips, to every inch of exposed skin, lifting back to her throat, pausing there. She didn't move. There was a dangerous sort of confidence about him, but against her will, she found it alluring, intriguing in a forbidden way. She'd always been drawn to things she wasn't supposed to have. Usually, she took them anyway. She reached out again, trying to touch him.He moved deftly away, almost made of air as he circled behind her. "Pandora," he whispered into her ear, breath like a kiss against the soft skin of her neck, making her shiver. And then the word he spoke registered. Her name.He knew her name. "How…?" She spun around, trailing off when she realized there was nothing there, no one there. A ghostly finger brushed against her elbow, tracing a burning path up her arm. "You're not the only one who knows how to disappear."Pandora spun again. But he was gone.

“...even a super-speedy vamp with the ability to disappear can't escape her own destiny.”

This is a neat book and Pandora (Dory) is a great character with just the sort of kick-a** attitude I adore. She’s gone through much pain and massive betrayal by her father (her mom having killed herself long ago), and pretty much everyone she knew including Jax, the love of her life. Dory goes through quite a ride in this first book of the Midnight Ice series in a plot that’s full of action, betrayal, thrills, and very much unpredictable twists and turns. The supporting cast is superb, especially the complex Jax who I suspect readers will never fully understand until the series ends, and the mysterious Sam who I am sure is going to be essential to the series. There’s a bit of a cliffhanger at the end here, and many more questions of huge importance left unanswered, but the ride is still worth taking and it’s fun enough that my “definitely worth reading” recommendation is unchanged despite how much I dislike that sort of ending.

PS: after the book ends there is an excerpt from the next book which actually helps - a bit - with the unanswered questions about Sam and takes much of the sting out of that bit of a cliffie at the end.

PPS: I’ve not actually read Kaitlyn Davis’ Midnight Fire series and can confirm that you don’t need to have read it in order to totally enjoy Frost. It is totally standalone, though I’m sure that I’ve simply missed crossover characters and plot elements that I’d have known if I’d read those books.

Does your Blood Run Hot and Cold?

Frost is another triumph from the pen of Kaitlyn Davis. Retelling the story of Pandora against the backdrop of vampires, shifters, and titans, her tale is completely different.

Frost is a novel about betrayal. It tells the age-old story of innocence lost. Pandora, as written by Davis is an intensely personal young woman who has had to struggle to survive.

Faced with the ultimate betrayal, Pandora makes a life-altering decision and must live with the consequences. She does quite well until her betrayer reaches out to try to bring her back home.

Frost has all of the soul-destroying pain that comes from betrayal, the agony of true love thrown away, and the sudden rush of lost memories cutting like knives. A painful and poignant combining of two lives.

Thank goodness the story doesn't stop with Frost. It is just the first book in the Midnight Ice series. I'm too excited to read the next book. I highly recommend anything Kaitlyn Davis writes.

I received a copy of this book and I voluntarily leave my review.
I absolutely loved this book, it’s about a girl names Pandora, she runs away from home because the people that she loved and trusted betrayed her. Pandora was a Titan a protector of people now the Titan’s are after her because she has turned into a vampire. Now Jax, Pandora’s ex I would love to punch him in his throat for all the things that he did to her. I love the cover it suits the story to a T, I also loved the characters and the storyline ( apart from Jax ), fast paced, action and adventure and some truly great kicking of the butt from Pandora. Fantastic read and a different look at vampires, I absolutely recommend this book.

This book hijacked my day. I had plans of doing so chores around the house and started to read this while having a cup of coffee. I never put this book down until the last page. Pandora is a kick ass character who I enjoyed. She really pulled at the emotions throughout the book. Lots of action and suspense. Jax was also a well developed character who l have mixed emotions about. Secondary characters were also well developed and the story line was great. Cliffhanger alert! I can't wait to read the next book!

A roller coaster of emotion - the thrill of completing assignments successfully, but also despair, hope and betrayal. Pandora is a lonely misfit who has been running from her destiny for years. Some things have been forgotten, but odd memories start coming through in dreams. Then her lost love catches up with her. She needs to remember, but something is wrong ... I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author and review it voluntarily.

This is a great great first book! You meet Pandora a 20 year old who was turned into a vampire at 15! She is now a master thief, hunted by her family and home, as well has vampires she has stolen from. I'm excited to to continue this series!

Wow, what a powerful book. I had difficulty putting it down but actually had to get some sleep last night. Pandora is such a strong character, even when she is feeling upset she keeps going. Jackson seems to be on her side, but I didn’t see the ending coming. Sam is a mystery that I am sure will be uncovered in the next book. I enjoyed the banter between Dory and Jax and the way they kept getting out of trouble. I look forward to reading the next book in this series to see where Ms Davis is taking the characters. Well done.

If you liked Midnight Fire series, you'll want to read this

While you don't need to have read any of the Midnight Fire books to enjoy this, seeing familiar characters and being familiar with this world makes this story easier to understand. Fast paced, lots of action, and mystery and a hybrid vampire-titan.

This is an energy packed book. All of the characters are engaging and Pandora is lovable from the first page to the last. What Pandora bears is kept a mystery, but it weighs upon her soul. Her heart is one of compassion and it seems to get her in a lot of trouble. Unfortunately, it is love that is her undoing. Looking forward to book two.

I first fell in love with Kaitlyn Davis' gift for character through her Midnight Fire Series a few years ago. While I've read plenty of Vampire novels, I loved the new spin on Kira, the main character being a Conduit, a different, deadlier sort of mortal enemy to the vamps. I devoured all four of the companion series because like I mentioned before, Davis has a true gift for introducing compelling but real-life characters and making you love them. Which can also be a curse when she puts them through the gauntlet and you don't know who will live and who will die. Angst aside, I was excited to discover she had published a new series in the Midnight Fire universe.
From the beginning, Pandora Scott comes off as the typical bad girl with a heart tough chick act. Catch is, she's a master thief vampire. Right away, we know she's on the opposite team. However her story is intriguing, being a Titan with unique abilities. It's easy to see Pandora is mostly bark with only occasional bite, but events quickly spin out of control when her first love shows up.
Jax was a fun leading man because he's a little cocky, but all heart. Where Pandora seems frozen and callous without reason, Jax constantly and often beyond his will, showers her with the love they once shared. He is so good at winning over Pandora, the reader falls for him as well.
Prepare for the proverbial rug to be pulled from beneath your vampy shoes.
I can't say more without betraying the plot, but I was completely thrown for a loop and ultimately impressed with the depths Davis has given her paranormal world.
There are several guest appearances from the old gang of course, who appear too "sunny" and happy to Pandora and Jax. But Kira and Luke bring just the right amount of hilarity and hijinks to lighten an otherwise darker toned companion series.
Having following Davis for many years now, it's been a pleasure to see her writing voice mature so much. Frost is well-written and imbued with hidden depths and even deeper questions of morality and consequences, as Pandora is forced to draw upon the shadows which give her power.
A must read for fans of Buffy and The Vampire Diaries.

I Loved every minute of Frost😍😍! Davis really knows how to keep you on edge, I never would’ve expected that ending and now it has me ready to binge read the series! Pandora Scott is a force to be reckoned with and I hope all of her enemies that out in the next book, although I’m also eager to find out what pandora actually is since she doesn’t even herself.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 Stars

Pandora is a titan, a girl born into a secret society of superhumans who are tasked with protecting the rest of the world from the supernaturals. But Pandora isn't quite like the rest of the titans. All titans have a particular talent, like being able to track enemies. Pandora's talent is something unique that has never been seen before: she can become invisible. For some reason, this causes the rest of titan society to reject her outright, and at the age of 15 she flees the conclave, and becomes a vampire. Four years later she uses her powers for thievery. That is, until Jax, a boy she loved in her youth shows up...

Overall, I would say this is a decent book. A lot of the concepts are new and original. A lot of paranormal romance never goes beyond the standard vampires and werewolves, so this was pretty refreshing. I don't think the titans are anything like the Greek mythological versions of themselves though. I enjoyed the ideas of the conduits, as well.

The characters were OK. Pandora is a decent character for a main character and the ending made me want more of her. I did not really like Jax very much though. He seems too pushy and controlling, walking into her life and demanding that she change even when she hadn't seen him in four years and was clearly apprehensive about what was going on. The other characters weren't really explored in this book so there isn't much to say about them. People who are not fans of love triangles might not like this, since the story clearly sets one up to be resolved in the next part of the series. I know I won't be rooting for Jax, that is for sure.

The actual plot was great at the beginning, where the story was being set up, and at the very end, where there is a cliffhanger that made me wish to read the next book. However, the middle suffers a lot. Most of the middle is basically being chased by enemies and Jax and Pandora arguing over stuff. I felt there could have been more tension and action in the middle of this book and I almost gave up halfway through. The ending's big reveal redeemed this book a bit in my eyes though.

I recieved an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, This doesn't in any way influence my thoughts on it

I have loved every book I've read from Kaitlyn Davis up till now, so I wasn't surprised when I absolutely loved Frost. At first it was the beautiful cover that got my attention then that awesome summary. Frost is simply amazing.
Pandora is the kind of heroine I love to read about, Strong, Snarky, Badass while still being fragile enough, powerful and heroic (Despite being a classy vampire thief). From the very first chapter, I knew for sure that I would love her. Her point of view is just so engrossing and made this book more loveable. Dory is one character I didn't know I will love this much, I expected to like her but I ended up becoming her huge fan.
Frost has a deliciously intense love triangle that is hot and sizzling. Jax and Sam are two different forces of nature that can make a girls life extraordinary. But Jax is still my favorite though, He's got the qualities of a great book boyfriend.
I am glad Kaitlyn Davis has created a world which I can lose myself in happily. The ending left me craving for more, I certainly can't wait to see more of this incredibly amazing series.

My favorite quotes from Frost: “Plenty of people wanted her dead.
That's just what happens when you break into the Oval Office, steal a painting from the president, and leave an IOU on his personal stationery for the Secret Service to find.”
“Normally, Pandora preferred to steal for a good cause, more of a supernatural Robin Hood, some might say. Blonder of course, with a much better ass.”

Full of action, paranormals, intrigue, hot vampires, powers, snark and wit, romance and danger, Frost is a book every Paranormal fans will simply adore.

This was the first book I have read by Kaitlyn Davis; so, I knew very little about the Midnight Ice series or the crossover series Midnight Fire. I was skeptical at first because it bothered me that the main character Pandora became a vampire at 15. I am glad we find out the reason behind that at the end. I found the world Davis built intriguing and am looking forward to learning more about the titans and conduits and their powers. Pandora comes across as both a strong, independent fighter but then also seems quite broken and fragile. I love Jax, but found myself yelling at his character to be upfront with Pandora and stop hiding what he needs to tell her. I also became frustrated with Pandora for being stubborn and refusing to talk to Jax. The cliffhanger made me want to immediately start reading the next book, I can't wait for the rest of this series!
