It is 1986, the Irish nation is gripped by the exploits of their nearest neighbors at the World Cup in Mexico and the phenomenon of moving religious statues that swept the country that year.
Kevin takes a Summer job at a chip shop in a seaside town in Ireland and joins a band of friends who stumble aimlessly through a season of hot days and nights spent drinking at the ruined Castle that dominates the town.
The brooding presence of Jock, the shop’s owner glowers over them all as he battles with his wartime demons and more recent traumas.

The young friends struggle to deal with the recent death of a young girl and Kevin offers a fresh face to brighten their days but Kevin hides a secret of his own.
Will blossoming young love defeat old hatreds and restore stolen futures?

Born in Cork, Ireland, I was a Civil Engineer for 30 years which is more than enough for anyone.
I retired to a life of coffee and the odd beer as a full time writer in July 2018.

The global pandemic allowed me to publish my third novel, 'Nobody's Hero' in 2021.
The story is inspired by my family history and has the themes of identity, duty and love. The story spans the Atlantic between Ireland and America over several generations.

I have written two other novels; Searching for Ahimsa and Battered. I decided to consolidate my writing onto one platform and moved my earlier novels onto KDP.
'Searching for Ahimsa' and Battered' are available on Amazon along with 'Nobody's Hero'.

'Another Eden' became 'Where the Truth Lies' and was published in late 2023. This is a story based on an alternative present where Communism won the Cold War, the US is no longer a superpower and Humankind is about to go to the planets. There is also a serial killer on the loose.

All the best on this merry adventure
