Two scarred people.

Two broken lives.

One hot as hell love story.

His body might be scarred, but he sure as hell knows what to do with it…

Connor ‘The Mountain’ Mount got his nickname for being big. In more than one way. Yeah, you know what I mean. He’s a cocky football player with an Australian accent that makes my knees weak, and he’s sinfully hot and almost impossible to resist.

He was just meant to be a one-night stand. A rebound. The perfect guy to help me get over my awful ex.

I had no idea that his mother was about to marry my father. I had no idea we were about to live together... in Australia. And I definitely had no idea that he was even more messed up than me.

We both have scars, but I’ll show him mine if he shows me his…

**Scar is a steamy standalone romance. No cheating, and a guaranteed happy ending! Bonus book included**

Scarlett King is a young woman who has been left to pick up the pieces of her life after being left by her long term ex-boyfriend of 4-years. He was her first everything & now she is hurt & unwilling to trust her heart to anyone. Connor Mount is a young man who is haunted by a painful past & has spent most of his young adult life running from that pain using sports, alcohol & sex as a distraction. Scarlett's now divorced parents sit her down to tell her that her father has now met someone he would like to spend his life with. It isn't an easy situation because she is from Australia & he intends to move there to marry her. Her parents encourage Scarlett to think about going with him to get away from the painful events that have been keeping her sad. She promises to think about it. While on holiday in the States Connie just happens to run into Scarlett at an Australian themed pub in Chicago. With some hesitation Scarlett agrees to spend one-night with Connor knowing he is leaving in the morning. They end up having an amazing fun filled evening hooking up together. And it is just such a small world because Connor comes from the same town Scarlett's dad is headed to. She decides to go to Australia & try a new beginning. While leaving the airport after arriving in Australia, she bumps into Connor again. They soon both realize that Scarlett's dad is marrying Connor's mom making them soon-to-be step siblings. And as if that was not enough, Scarlett also comes to find out that Connor is a very popular sports figure in his home town. The attraction they have for one another is very real but the trust issue for both of them are also very real as well. They both find it hard to deal with their feelings for one another & expressing them in a positive ways. Will Scarlett & Connor be able to admit they both care for one another? Will they be able to both move past their painful pasts? Will Scarlett be able to handle Connor's fame? What happens if their parents find out?

This is a short HEA book with two young hurt people learning to moving on. When they find they can share their past pain with another person without judgement the healing begins. But just because you work to move forward doesn't always mean life is going to be easy. Many challenges stand in the way of this young couple yet they fight to hold on to what they believe in. This was an enjoyable read for me & I would recommend it. This book is meant for mature readers.

An hot Aussie (Connor) meets an American woman (Scarlett) at an Aussie bar in Chicago. They chit-chat about places to visit in Australia and after 20 minutes (felt like it) they decide to have sex. Two weeks later they bump into each other at an Aussie airport. They quickly discover he's her soon to be stepbrother! Conner learns her father is engaged to his mother and they'll all be living in the same house.

I didn't like the very, very vague description of the heroine. I had no idea she was black (@19 percent) until she's described as having smooth caramel skin. There is no description of her, except skin tone (caramel or brown) and eye color (dark brown).

The hero is described (@7 percent mark) the following way: He was tall, tanned and muscular with angular facial features, and his dazzling blue eyes reminded me of the ocean on a summer’s day. Whoever he was, he was the epitome of genetic perfection.

Also, I had to guess the age of the H/h based upon information about their parents. Their ages aren't definitively given until near the end of the book -- and, their ages shocked me.

The author tells the story at the right pace and she doesn't string us along with a couple of situations that happen and I greatly appreciated her for it. This is the second stepbrother book I've read from this author, but my favorite is still Crush.

This is the first time I have read this authors work, and it will not be the last. Scarlett is recovering from a very public and humiliating breakup from her ex, when she meets Conner who is a sexy, hot Australian, who is haunted about a painful past. They have a one night stand, where Conner disappears leaving his phone number behind. They meet unexpectedly when they find out their parents are getting married. These two has such hot passionate chemistry between them, but can they overcome all of the obstacles in their way? You really need to read this for yourself!
This is a well written and flawless storyline, and I recommend this authors work for all. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

First book I have read from this author and it won’t be my last.

Scarlet “Scar” King is moving to Australia because her dad is going to get married to Tina who Lives in Perth. To celebrate her move Scar and her best friend Emma go to an Aussie bar, Southern Cross where she meets Connor “Mountain” Mount. They start talking and leave together. When she gets up the next morning Conner is gone but he did live his Australian phone number. Of course he will call when she gets to Perth. Coming off a bad break up, he I just what Scar needs to move on. What follows is a rollercoaster of events ranging from a misunderstanding, an accusation to a wedding. To fill in the details of who said what and why read the story. We learn that some scars are physical and some are emotional.

I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Scarlett known as Scar to her friends, has decided to go to Australia, as her father is newly engaged to an Australian and wanted Scarlett to experience life in a different country.
To celebrate, Scar and her friend goes to an Australian themed bar where she encounters a hunk of pure Aussie male.
Landing in Australia, she again encounters the same bloke, but that is not where the surprises end. Interesting tale, well worth the read.
It also highlights some of the Australia people would love to get to experience.

Scarlet gets a chance for a fresh start when she moves with her father to Australia. She’s nursing a broken heart and also looking forward to new experiences. A one night stand she had before leaving turns awkward as she runs into him at the airport. I love the way Australia is described, makes me want to travel there. And the love scenes are freakin hot. Throw in some crazy allegations and you have quite a story!

This is a wonderful read by Caitlin Daire. It is definitely a scandalous stepbrother romance. Scarlett and Conner over some many obstacles to be together. I enjoyed this book very much. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but I will say the epilogue was perfect!

A chance meeting at an Aussie bar in Chicago leads these two to an amazing one night stand. Only it turns out after landing in Australia they find out they are about to be Step Siblings. Let the adventures begin from there. This was a awesome read with drama thrown in. Never a dull moment.

This book was given to me as an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review....I really loved this great sports romance. Scarlett (Scar for short) is a smart young woman who is recovering from a very public and humiliating break up with her ex; with the encouragement of her bff , Emma, she takes an uncharacteristic opportunity for a one night stand with an Australian hottie, Connor. What starts out as one night of casual but great sex becomes complicated due to a series of coincidences which culminates in the two of them being bought back together in the most unfortunate of circumstances. So the scene is set for a romantic love story...but there are secrets to be divulged and there are people in the background intent on causing harm and Scar and Connor find their relationship tested to the point of breaking.
This is a wonderful story the characters including the secondary characters such as Emma are well written and interesting; and the brief descriptions of the Australian landscape made me want to buy a plane ticket and go out there to see for myself.Without giving any of the plot away I can say that I particularly liked the scene where Scar teaches Emma how to talk dirty to her new boyfriend..it made me smile. A truly great story worthy of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this story. It was easy to read and I was entertained the entire time. Scar and Connor meet in the states and have a night together and chance to get together again when they are both in Australia. Scar is moving there and Connor lives there normally. They run into each other in the airport on the way back and as they are still feeling the connection, quickly figure out that their parents are engaged. There are some misunderstandings between the two of them along with the fact that they are about to become step-siblings that gets in the way of the two of them being together...at least at first. I thought that this was well done. I liked the way that it was written. The step-sibling factor plays a part, but not a large part in the book. It causes them to keep things on the down low but it doesn't have a huge taboo feeling to it. The sex is explicit but the reader quickly sees and feels a connection between the characters. I liked the way that things developed and liked the way that things happened. We get some predictability and some twists that you don't expect. I enjoyed the characters and the story.

Connor and Scarlet (Scar) meet at a bar and spend a night together before he leaves to explore the US and she leaves for a new life in Australia with her father and his fiance. Neither expect to meet again and find that their parents are getting married. They have to decide to either ignore the attraction or take a risk.

I have read many step-sibling romances and this one was well done. The author really develops the characters. I like that she alternates the narration between the two so you get both of their perspectives. Connor is a complicated guy with a past he is reluctant to share but Scar helps him accept his past and move on. Scar has her own internal scars from being betrayed by her ex. There is an unexpected twist that really pushes them to make a decision about their future together.

"Scar", was my initial introduction to Caitlin Daire's writing and I was extremely impressed! The authors writing style is very professional with no grammatical or spelling errors. Utilizing alternating points of view provides readers with insight to both characters' motivations, thoughts and feelings. The story flowed consistently throughout the novel holding my interest until the very end. The author's depictions of various settings were amazing, allowing the reader to actually imagine being in numerous Australian locations. The novel offers just enough tension to keep the story interesting but believable. Both of the main (as well as supporting) characters are likeable and I found myself anticipating a sweet HEA. Although this was my first experience with Caitlin Dare it will not be my last!

Very hot, hot, hot and HOT!!!
Scarlett a.k.a Scar has been told that her father not only found someone but is also engaged to her. Oh and he is moving to another country, Australia! Oh and her ex is a cheating a-hole! So to get away from all her drama with the ex, her parents tell her they think she should go to Australia with her Father, at least for a little while. So as any woman would, Scar decides to take on more night out before her new start. She has a one night stand with a sexy as hell, hot Australian named Conner. However fate has other plans for her and Conner. She soon discovers they are going to be more than a one night stand and not in the way they both want. They are step siblings!

Loved this book! Hot! Sexy Australian man! Sassy girl! Secrets! Twists and turns!

The synopsis seemed interesting but..........

It would be much better if the author hired an editor who checked the story beforehand. I only got to 5% before I gave up. Between one page to the next from the beginning words are missing. One page would be the finish of one sentence and the next page begins in the middle of another sentence. After awhile it was apparent that words and sometimes a sentence was missing. I gave up at the aforementioned 5%. Too bad it could have been interesting. So if you can overlook missing parts of the story, have at it. But for me, not my cup of tea. Too many good edited books to read. SQ

This book was so good! I couldn't put it down once I started reading.

Bad boy footballer Connor and Scarlet meet in an Aussie themed bar. They spend an incredibly hot night together - not realizing that their parents were engaged.

Their relationship, while secret for a time, was incendiary. Scarlet and Connor are just what the other needs to get over the scars of their past. Their relationship comes out in a surprising way - but one that shows just how badass Scarlet is.

I loved the two of them together. This was the first book I've read from this author - but Scar has definitely made me a fan!

What a steamy read! I guess it’s true when they say, “What a tangled web we weave”, ok maybe not in those same words but close. One night stands are not always just that, sometimes they come back and bite you in the butt. This book’s got such a wide range of trouble, marriage, break-ups, and HOT sexy down under loving. This was a hard book to put down, (dinner? What’s that?) and for the price it’s a steal. If you like to read books that take for a wild roller-coaster spin, then this is a book for you.

This book was great, the plot was believable so we're the characters. I lover Conner he was so adorable even when he was a butt head. Scarlett I found to be very naive and gullible, but she fights for those she loves.
Conner and Scarlett meet in Chicago and hook up and when she flies to Australia she finds out he is going to be her stepbrother. A lot of things happen over the few months she is there and talk about a whopping surprise lol. You can't help but get hooked in this story, read it in one sitting

What a hot, hot, hot book. Have a glass of ice to cool down with. I just love these accents both Australian and English. Weak in the knees and panty melting accents. This guy sure knows what he is doing. Loved it and couldn't put it down. If you want a good book this is the one. This is an exceptional author whose books are always good. I highly recommend it. “I am voluntarily reviewing a book gifted to me by the author with no obligation.”

I really liked this book, and was hooked until I'd finished it. Scarlett and Conner were both complex, damaged characters, but without being too depressing or damaged beyond being likable or relatable. Both were easy to sympathize with, and I really enjoyed following their story and seeing how they dealt with everything, fell in love, and was happy to see them get their HEA. I was gifted a copy and decided to leave a review.

I really liked that this was told from alternating viewpoints. It was fun getting inside the heads of both Scarlett and Connor. From lust-at-first-sight to learning who each other really is, their story is told with skill, wit, and humor and makes for a fun journey. I look forward to seeing what else this author has in store for us in the future.

“What’s the difference between a French kiss and an Australian kiss? An Australian kiss is the same as a French one, only down under.”

Connor is supposed to be a one night stand for Scarlett. She never imagined her father would marry his mother, and they would all live together. Scarlett is upset with Connor hiding who is was and promptly being surrounded by girls. Connor is hiding his pain, things that scarred him, but a criminal charge against him could unearth everything.
