I really enjoy these collected editions, they let me re-enjoy comics I read as a younger collector. Nice format and the brilliant colors on the pages are a pleasure. Great set is this volume with the introduction of the Black Cat. Recommended

A nostalgic read, this contains the earliest issues I read as a boy, plus the debut of Black Cat and some classic Doc Ock and Punisher action. It does have that jaded 70s anti-hero tone, though, with the apparent death of one major character, the breakdown of another, lots of drug dealing and Peter being pretty moody and antagonistic throughout. Cheer up, Spidey, it's the 80s now!

I may be winding down on the part of Spider-Man's story that I'm most interested in. I started this last summer and then put it away for several months before picking it back up again. There's some good stuff like the introduction of Black Cat, a character I've never really cared about in modern comics, but who works so well in her first appearance that it makes me rethink how I've reacted to her up to now.

A good part that goes on too long and wears out its welcome is a storyline about the apparent death of Aunt May. I love how it propels Spidey into action, but the mysteries behind what's really going on there take forever to unfold. And once they do, it reveals a scheme that's way too complicated to believe or care about.

There are interludes with the Kingpin, Doc Ock, and the Punisher, but none of these are memorable.

No attention is given to Peter's love life. That's disappointing, because his romantic relationships are a crucial part of what I like about these stories. He's on the outs with Mary Jane this volume and spends very little time even thinking about her. Nor is there anyone to replace her in his life. The closest is a reporter named April Maye (sigh) who's partnered with Peter against her will. She hates him for no good reason. I have no idea where that's going, so I'm kind of curious.

I have one or two more volumes already in my library, so I'll keep reading. Hope something brings new life to the series soon.

#193 - 195 (wolfman e pollard) final do arco do mosca , a estreia da gata negra

#197 (wolfman e pollard) o regresso do rei do crime (Grande luta com o rei do crime)

#198 - 199 (wolfman e sal buscema) mysterio

Some decent stories in this volume, an improvement from the first, largely because the villains were a lot more interesting. However the recurring villains weren't done quite as well as they were before, and the new villain (Black Cat) I think will probably have a lot more to offer in the future than she did here.

An excellent volume that features some excellent stories with three of my favourite villains; Kingpin, Mysterio and Doc Ock, as well as introducing the fabulous Black Cat.
