7 Full length novels by International and USA today best selling authors. Hot, steamy, sexy, military romances with an edge! Romance, suspense, drama…you will love our My Soldier collection!
I'm sorry to say I didn't really like this set all that much. I bought it because one of my favorite authors, J.L. Brooks, participated in it, but hers and the book by Cristina Slough were the only ones I did truly enjoyed.
As I start all my reviews. There are four elements that to me make a great book. It must make you laugh, cry, want to throw it, and then never want to put it down. MY SOLIDERS box set is epic!! If you love military heroes, this is a set of stories you have to get!. The variety of authors and storylines will keep you reading. I even found some new authors (new to me anyways) that I want to read more from. Hot and steamy scenes in almost all the stories that leave you wanting more. These are not the novellas!! I have to give my kudos to those who covered PTSD in their books as I feel more people need to know about it. I don’t do spoilers! So here are my reviews of the books.
Honor by J.L. Drake What to say about a book that is written so well. J.L. Drake is now one of my new authors that I must read more of after reading Honor. There was just something in this book that grabbed me. The bubblegum part stuck with me. As for her characters Mark and Mia very strong you can feel the emotions. This book moved me and now I am off to read the the rest of them. I loved this book.
Saved By A Soldier by Alison Mello (my review from reading this book earlier) I really love this story. The two main characters are a medically discharged veteran Cater and a best-selling author Patty. These people fall into a relationship that is bound to have a few bumps along the way. Patty has hit a roadblock with her writing and escapes to her father's Lakehouse, while Carter is asked by his father to go and keep an eye on his friend's daughter while she is out there. They notice each other but only from afar. Fate changes that when Carter steps up and saves Patty from the Jerk (my name for him). From there it was meant to be!! Alison Mello wove her magic into this book making one seem as if they were part of the story. Her book also covers PTSD as well and I give her kudos for that.
The Ocean Between Us by Delisa Lynn Being from a small town this story hit home. Talk about a wonderful emotional roller coaster of a book. Have tissues handy. Long Distance is never easy as this book shows you. Delisa has wonderful characters that are easy to fall in love with.
Till Death Us Do Part by Cristina Slough
This book was hard for me to get into from the start. I think this is the longest time that I have taken to read a book in a long time. Now Cristina has great characters in this book. You can feel the emotions rolling of them. The story line is great but it’s slow at the start and felt rushed at the end.
Absolution by Penelope Marshall What can I say about this book. Penelope Marshall out did herself with this one. Stong charactors that jumped off the pages at you. I could not put this book down just when I thought I was safe to stop for the night “bam” I had to grab it up again. I loved all the little unexpected twists in this.
Her Soldier by Author HJ Bellus I liked this book. There was a good concept to the story however there were just some rushed scenes to me. HJ Bellus has some great characters and it was not hard to fall for Beau and Jenni through their struggles.
Love Him Back by Kris Nacole OMG I loved this book. Kris wove magic into this one. What can I say I could not put this book down. Her characters came to life with such spirit that left at the edge of my seat! Chesney and Zane pulled on my heartstrings from the very start of the book.
My Soldier box set was everything I look for in romance books. Wonderfully written, witty, steamy, great strong characters, meaningful, just a little dose of angst and some great endings. I give this set 5 + stars as it was hard to put down and all the books had meaning to them. Being a military wife a lot hit home with these and I am thankful for these authors who put this together!
I'm a sucker for reading about hot Navy Seal's with some good old fashion romance thrown in and Absolution did not disappoint. Cole Almen is on on a mission when tragedy strikes a fellow Seal, his brother, his best friend Ezra is killed to say he's devastated is an understatement which only adds to the guilt he feels once he's back home and having to face Ezra's fiancée Adeline who he just so happens to live in the same house as along with his girlfriend Catherine. His and Catherine's relationship has always been what you'd call strained so it doesn't really come as a surprise when he ends things with her the final nail in the coffin when it comes to the end of thier relationship is Catherine's behaviour which in the end pushes Cole and Adeline together, they both kind of skip around thier feelings towards each other but when they do finally give in it blossoms beautifully despite there being a crazy ex on the loose there's a good few bumps on the road to true love but it does end well for Cole and Adeline. I loved the twist in the story and how the prolouge connected with the ending. Penelope Marshall has wormed her way into being one of my favourite authors I thoroughly enjoyed this boxset and I look forward to reading more from Penelope.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this.
This is a box set and I am reviewing Penelope Marshall's book Absolution.
Adeline is Navy Seal Ezra’s finance, they share a house together with Cole and Catherine. Ezra and Cole are in the same team, and Ezra dies whist on a mission. Cole has reservations about his girlfriend Catherine, and he doesn’t know if she will still be around when he get back from deployment. Cole separates from Catherine and she goes crazy. Adeline and Cole are both suffering from the death of Ezra, but they also feel the chemistry between them. They struggle with the chemistry and Adeline is having trouble with her grief with Ezra deaths. She finds out he was cheating on her with Catherine and she comes to term with his death. With everything going on around them do Adeline and Cole get a second chance of love together?
Woozers! I have only had time to get through Absolution By Penelope Marshall ( Love that book!! ), Her Soldier By H.J Bellus, I don't think I breathed much through that one, and part way through Honor By J.L Drake, these books so far have been great, I love reading an Author I already love, one I have read once before, and finding new Authors all in one set!! I am excited to get to finish the current book and read the others!
