Kidnappée et sauvagement torturée, pendant 5 interminables semaines, elle est sauvée in extremis, de ses bourreaux tout droit sortis d’un cauchemar dantesque et irréel, par une mystérieuse inconnue.
L’épreuve de son retour à la réalité s’avère dure et affligeante, en dépit du soutien inébranlable de Rayen Carlier. Deux choses la lient à cet homme ; l’empire bâti par son père –dont Rayen est le principal associé-, et cette terrible explosion, il y a déjà un an. Aucune, pourtant, ne justifie cette froide protection qu’il ne cesse de lui imposer.
Mais, confrontée à nouveau à son pire cauchemar, Sarah doit rapidement secouer sa torpeur. Un cauchemar bien réel et bien déterminé à la hanter. Et si le seul moyen d’y mettre un terme…était d’y replonger ?
Sarah découvre alors que le fond qu’elle croyait avoir touché est encore bien loin.
Et que, cette fois-ci, elle est vraiment en bon chemin de l’atteindre.

Alors! Par où commencer?
Je viens de finir le livre. Je l'aime bien. J'ai pas adoré, mais j'aime bien!
Des fois je me sens injuste envers quelques auteurs! Car des fois ils écrivent des livres qui me ressemblent, me touchent et me marquent tellement que je n'accepte plus de renoncer à mes droits :D
C'était le cas pour "A ta place"! ça fait presque un an que je l'ai lu, et depuis il ne quitte plus mes pensées.
Revenons au cauchemar du bathyscaphe. Pour être honnête, j'ai pas beaucoup aimé le début, mais après quelques dizaines de pages, je suis tombée sous le charme de ce roman. Pour être honnête aussi, j'avoue que c'est un page-turner! Une fois immergés dans l'histoire, on ne peux plus s'arrêter.
Peut être que le fait que je ne suis pas une grande fan des thrillers et des romans Sci-Fi que ce livre n'a pas réussi à me marquer comme je m’attendais, mais je ne regrette pas du tout l'avoir lu! et je compte lire le deuxième tome aussi!
Sinon, ayant déjà lu deux livres de Khaoula Hosni, je peux dire ça:
J'adore sa façon de voir l'amour! Oui, vraiment! Ces relations qui sont à la fois très solides et très fusionnelles MAIS sans jamais tomber dans la dépendance ou la toxicité, j'adore ça!!
Finalement, j'ai hâte de lire DABDA (j'attend la foire car attention je n'accepte pas de lire une copie non signée de Khaoula Hosni :p), et je vous recommande de lire au moins un livre de cette auteur, ça vaut vraiment la peine! <3

بقراءتي لهذه الرواية انهي قطيعة مع القراءة بالفرنسية دامت زهاء الثلاث سنوات و قطيعة اخرى (غير متعمدة هذه المرة) مع ما تخطه الأنامل التونسية ,دامت هي الأخرى لفترة ليست بالقصيرة . تنتمي هذه الرواية الى جنس الاثارة أو ربما بصفة أدق الى جنس الاثارة الرومانسية وهي أول جزء من ثلاثية تعتزم الكاتبة نشرها.
الأسلوب بسيط و غير مليء بعبارات التنميق ...القصة جميلة ستشدك من صفحاتها الأولى و لكن أيضا مربكة و محيرة في الكثير من الأحيان ,على كل حال قد تنجلي هذه الحيرة مع الاطلاع على الجزء القادم.
ما حز في نفسي فقط انه و في هذا العمل لا يوجد شيء تونسي سوى اسم الكاتبة فاللغة فرنسية و الشخصيات فرنسية و كذلك الاطار المكاني على الأقل في الفصول الأولى .لكن كما سبق و قلت تبقى تجربة جميلة خاصة مع غياب البذاءة التي عادت ما تميز الكتابات الشابة
من تعود على قراءة مراجعاتي قد يرى شيئا من المبالغة في التقييم لكنني صدقا لم احتر سوى في اسناد النجمة الرابعة من عدمها أو الاكتفاء بحل وسط (3.5) .الا ان العارف بظروف النشر في تونس و العراقيل الكبيرة جدا لن يستغرب ذلك اذ أن رؤية رواية كاملة صاحبها تونسي و دار نشرها تونسية يعد في حده انجازا
كان لي بالأمس شرف لقاء خولة حسني ضمن احدى لقاءات "ماذا تقرأ اليوم؟ بصفاقس" (نادي كتاب ينشط بمدينتي) ... حقيقة فاجأتني بتواضعها و عفويتها (أنا التي كنت أرى في المثقفين بما في ذلك الكتاب و خاصة المتأثرين بالثقافة الفركوفونية نموذجا للغرور)و هي بكل تأكيد تستحق التشجيع ...كانت تلك المرة الأولى التي ألتقي فيها بكاتب أو كاتبة.
و كذلك المرة الأولى التي أحصل فيها على توقيع لرواية قرأتها

C'est toujours difficile pour moi d'écrire une review d'un livre que je viens juste de terminer, avec toute la panoplie d'émotions encore fraîche. Mais je vais essayer.
Je commence par le style d'écriture, il y a une évolution remarquable, la plume de l'auteure est de plus en plus mature, assurée et raffinée d'un roman à l'autre. On se laisse facilement embarquer par l'histoire malgré l'ambiguïté et la confusion qui règnent dès les premières pages. D'ailleurs cette incompréhension, c'est elle qui vous accroche. On note une certaine maturité aussi dans le développement des personnages. On s'attache facilement aux protagonistes, on vit leurs tourments, leurs frustrations, leurs petites joies...J'ai beaucoup aimé la manière de l'auteure à ramener la romance dans le milieu de cette histoire infernale, ça nous permet de respirer. Car oui, l'ambiance est sombre à souhait, une vraie descente aux enfers, autant physique que psychologiques, il y a du glauque, du noir, du morbide (et Dieu sait comme j'aime ça)..on se sent happé par l'abysse dans la tête de Sarah, on vit ses cauchemars, on est avec elle dans le bathyscaphe, guettant la moindre lumière, et oui j'étais complètement "in".
Les petits hics pour moi étaient 2 personnages secondaires hermétiques à la limite incohérents, une thématique "science-fiction" qui encombre le récit (vous saurez laquelle quand vous lisez le livre), et des "rebondissements" très prévisibles où je m'attendais à des twists renversants (mon cerveau est plus à blâmer que l'auteur sur ce coup)
La fin est trop frustrante pour moi, pas de vraie révélation, pas de "closing", même si c'est le début d'une trilogie on s'attend à ce qu'une intrigue au moins soit bouclée, ici on reste totalement sur notre faim.. Une grande attente donc pour le tome 2 (j'espère qu'il va pas tarder)
En gros, j'ai adoré, je n'ai pas décroché un seul moment durant toute ma lecture, l'auteure cultive l'ambiguïté et le suspens permanent, et elle le fait avec art.
Le meilleur Khaoula Hosni jusqu'à présent (DABDA a toujours une place particulière dans mon coeur, mais objectivité oblige), une lecture très agréable et très recommandée de ma part.

الكتاب هو اول جزء من ثلاثية يحكي على سارة بنت راجل لاباس عليه تخطفت ولقاوها مشوهة فمها مخيط حالتها حليلة.. ريان الي هو شريك مع بوها بش يخبيها عندو لين تاقف على ساقيها و ياقاو شكون خطفها.. كتاب كلو تشويق متنجمش تقص عليه... اكيد بش نعمل عليه فيديو في القريب العاجل

1er livre Tunisien que je lis! Vraiment émouvant et magnifiquement écrit.
J'adore Rayen, au début il était un peu froid mais enfin je comprends pourquoi.
Le début et la fin du livre étaient un peu slow mais le milieu de l'histoire était un grand page-turner. C'était embrouillant en quelques points mais j'ai hâte de lire le deuxième livre <3

A quick note about myself/ I love horror, thriller books and my dream was to read a book that will make me have nightmares. This book DID. Khaoula did :)
The writing style has improved compared to the author's previous books, Characters too since for the first time I liked all of them or almost.
In this book the emotions that the characters were enduring were shared with the readers everytime something bad happens to the main character, I would hurry to keep reading and make sure they are okay.
Plus the coolest thing is that it doesn't stick to one thing there's romance where you never expected to be, horror and sci-fi all mixed together.
The beginning of the book sucked a little bit, or I'd rather say I didn't like it. and then something quite interesting started happening and I got HOOKED and boom, then the events started slowing and when I felt that way another BOOM came in, and THE END god the end I would've never thought that something like that would happen (creativity 10/10).
If you want to take a break from all the books and the clichés that are around this book is the one.
I wish if we had more books like this not only in Tunisia but everywhere, books with such creativity are seriously lacking.

Rayen is the perfect character, the mysterious type but so caring, cold but has his reasons. I'm sure I was in Sarah's shoes I would've felt in love him the day I was born.

and I think the last part when Liliane started to explain it should have been longer or it could be because I didn't want it to end and I was soooo waiting for that part where Liliane explains her link to the kidnapping.

Ce livre est un "page-turner", et j'adore ce genre de livres qui m'aspirent hors de la réalité, chose que je trouve essentielle dans mes lectures, si je ne me sens ma complètement submergée dans l'histoire, ma relation avec le livre va pas marcher, on va se détester et rompre. Ce livre est frustrant, c'est une immersion avec des coups de freins constants. Dans tous les thrillers il y a ces moments de pause dans l'action de l'histoire, une coupure dans le rythme mais qui en même temps reste dans le "rythme", là, c'est des coups de freins secs! C'est des moments de répits a élongations, la plupart de ces parties concernent l'histoire d'amour naissante entre les deux protagonistes, j'y ai pas accroché malgré qu'il y avait tous les éléments pour me plaire (deux personnes à l'esprit torturé qui qui se battent contre leurs propres démons réunies par le destin etc etc..) j'ai trouvé que c'est une histoire cliché et totalement attendue. Mis à part ce coté là, l'histoire m'a absorbée, je pouvais pas m'arrêter de lire, ce grand mystère entre cauchemar et réalité, le coté Sci-fi tordu, ce côté sombre est inquiétant... j'avais besoin de comprendre de connaitre le pourquoi du comment et je suis restée sur ma faim, j'ai eu droit qu'à des ersatz de réponses et c'est injuste! Apparement ce livre est le premier d'une trilogie et j'espère avoir mes réponses

Forget what I said earlier about the fantasy not affecting the storyline... XD
This book got me reading into the middle of the night! It's almost 4 am rn and my mind is stil buzzing with all the plot twists... The twists here would make Dan Brown proud XD and that final twist... I couldn't have seen it coming in a thousand years XDD
Anyway the writing is impeccable, speckled here and there with a touch of humour that was all but displeasing. Honestly the French was a bit of a challenge for my rusty french skills, but I eventually got the hang of it.
The storylines evolves in a perfect pace, not too fast nor too slow, with intriguing little jumps between past, present and future that will leave you at the edge of your seat.
The character's are amazing! I rarely like an mc (for a reason they're usually all whiney and bratty -_-) but I loved Sarah! She's sassy and courageous, and her recovery from the "panoptique" wasn't miraculous or instantaneous but as realistic and credible as possible. And don't even get me started on Rayen aghfbfkfknskchjk this guyyy!
As a whole I didn't find one thing to complain about in this book! I seriously NEED another book!

Suite à mon coup de foudre pour "A Ta Place", j'étais très curieuse de lire un autre roman du même auteure . Aussi , le choix était justifié, car le thème était parfait pour moi et je confirme que je n’étais guère déçue lors de ma lecture.
Je commence par le titre , je m’abstiens de vous l'expliquer .Tout le charme de l’histoire y tient. Je vous laisse le soin de le découvrir par vous même.
Coté rédaction, le texte est linguistiquement riche ! et il n’y a pas un seul mot, une seule phrase inutile . Khaoula cherche tout le temps le moyen non seulement d’intéresser le lecteur , mais de l’étonner et de garder son attention éveillée . L’imagination est libérée, les trouvailles sont de plus en plus inouïes ; c’est cela qui fait la force de l'histoire .
J'ai adoré Sarah , le personnage principal, avec ses doutes, ses peurs, ses regrets.. Je me reconnais facilement en elle !!! et c’est ce qui fait son charme.
En gros, c’est ça la littérature, en tout cas la littérature que j’aime !
Donc allez y , Lisez le !! J'attends avec impatience le deuxième tome , si vous voulez tout savoir.

Khaoula possède une pleume unique,le déroulement des évènements est bien tricoté.

Finished! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My review of 2023 :
When I first read this book , I was so engaged with the plot that I had no time to pay attention to anything else . Yes, I did get emotionally attached to the characters , despite how fast I read it because I was so eager to know what was going on plot-wise then , but Khaoula has this ability to make you feel everything, to love her characters with passion and hate them with the same passion .
The second read , though, her words hit differently. The story felt deeper . I came to view every little detail magnified and under a new light . It wasn't mainly about the plot anymore . It was about the psychological journey , the healing , the self-discovery, the self building and the growth journey . It just felt more , meant more and did more to my mind and heart than the first time I read it .
I've said this before when I reread "À ta place" , that the book became more meaningful . The same thing happened again . The hurt felt deeper , the agony , the anger , the despair and the hatred , but also the love , the healing , the acceptance and the determination to just BE .
When I finished the last sentence of the book , the only question that remained in me was : If I had to relive my biggest fear /trauma like our main character did over and over again, would I be able to face it , build myself again and sacrifice every chance I had to save myself from so much pain and choose to save the one i love ?
I don't really know ! I guess no one knows for sure until you experience it !
P.S : To the ones who never read to Khaoula , please do ! She's such an amazing author , writer , storyteller, but mostly a people lover . She just creates the most human-like characters ever with every piece of the bad , the good and everything in between.

I'm dazed ! My mind went on a Rollercoaster of emotions ! No , no ! My mind's turned into an amusement park ! A ride of suspense, a ride of fear , a ride of anticipation, confusion , excitement, pain , happiness, sadness , anger ... etc . Every element that would make me fall in love with a book , " Le Cauchemar Du Bathyscaphe " had it . 😍😍😍😍😍 This is why I didn't want to read it until the last book of the trilogy comes out . I knew, that once I start reading it , I will be too eager to know what will happen next , too eager to grab the next book . But , this is a whole new level of eagerness!
I'm on the verge of turning mental due to my insane effort to stop myself from starting " Du Vortex à L'Abysse " . And this book was mental , by the way ! 😂😂😂 So , excuse my temporary craziness ! 😝😋😜 I don't want to spoil it for those who want to read it so I'm not going to talk about anything specific. Just know that I highly recommend it ! This book is beyond amazing !👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💙💙

My review of 2023 :
When I first read this book , I was so engaged with the plot that I had no time to pay attention to anything else . Yes, I did get emotionally attached to the characters , despite how fast I read it because I was so eager to know what was going on plot-wise then , but Khaoula has this ability to make you feel everything, to love her characters with passion and hate them with the same passion .
The second read , though, her words hit differently. The story felt deeper . I came to view every little detail magnified and under a new light . It wasn't mainly about the plot anymore . It was about the psychological journey , the healing , the self-discovery, the self building and the growth journey . It just felt more , meant more and did more to my mind and heart than the first time I read it .
I've said this before when I reread "À ta place" , that the book became more meaningful . The same thing happened again . The hurt felt deeper , the agony , the anger , the despair and the hatred , but also the love , the healing , the acceptance and the determination to just BE .
When I finished the last sentence of the book , the only question that remained in me was : If I had to relive my biggest fear /trauma like our main character did over and over again, would I be able to face it , build myself again and sacrifice every chance I had to save myself from so much pain and choose to save the one i love ?
I don't really know ! I guess no one knows for sure until you experience it !
P.S : To the ones who never read to Khaoula , please do ! She's such an amazing author , writer , storyteller, but mostly a people lover . She just creates the most human-like characters ever with every piece of the bad , the good and everything in between.

A ride of suspense, a ride of fear , a ride of anticipation, confusion , excitement, pain , happiness, sadness , anger ... etc . Perso, j'aime pas acheter les livres (j'ai même pas d'argent lol) encore moins si c'est un livre que j'ai lu, mais alors là, this book has a place waiting for it in my bookshelf, puisque metsallfou men aand Ilhem :D ! Suspense haletant, histoire d'amour, du fantastique, what do you want else? En lisant ce livre, vous trouverez sans doute la touche de Khaoula Hosni, ce qui rend le livre encore plus beau! La couverture est à craquer, le synopsis est parfait, c'est un des livres que j'ai fini en une longue période, par rapport aux autres (a week hasb ma netfaker)et c'est car je ne voulais pas qu'il finisse! Coup de coeur garanti! Khaoula Hosni at her best (and I sure as hell will be waiting for the sequel, bech nabda nemrej l'auteure men taw :p ) One last thing: READ THIS BOOK!!! :D One of the best books I've read in 2016, and I'm glad it was my last, 5 stars :D

je ne sais réellement pas quoi penser de ce livre‚ un peu déçu pour commencer‚ je m'attendais a mieux‚ je n'ai pas détesté pour autant‚ une lecture agréable ou pas !!!! en faite ‚ par ce que c'est ça qui m'a déçu‚ le fait d'avoir détesté le personnage principal ‚ auquel je n'ai pas adhérer et y'avais à plusieurs moments du livre surtout au milieu des passages où elle parlais de son amour pour rayen qui m'ont soûler‚ et pour ma part ayant lu dabda ‚ au moment où au début du livre elle a commencé à décrire rayen je l'ai vu venir MAIS ALORS LA DE TRES LOIN‚.
autre bémol toutes tentatives d''explication de l'univers finissait par : ne me prend pas trop la tête Lilian stp !!!!‚ un peu facile comme échappatoire mais je peu comprendre que le livre ne soit pas de la SF pure et dure.
après faut rendre à César ce qui est à César le suspense et plot twist était vraiment bon voir même excellent pour certains alors j'attends la suite que je lirai volontier‚ car comment rester indifférent à une tel fin

Being new at thriller book genre , I think my review won't do the book justice, however I knew when I read something special It will be definitely that .
The finishing paragraph left me breathless and as I placed the book down , the first thought that crossed my mind was "Is it already over ??..." It easily made me forget about the world and let me live in a fanciful univers , which will be painful to get rid of it .
Personaly , i loved Rayen and Sarah . Both of them have decisive charecters , even if Sarah wasn't a stuborn girl at first .
I want just to thank khaoula for tis masterpiece and ask everyone to devote a couple of hours reading this book as well to enjoy a little bit more in life .♥♥♥

Khaoula Hosni confirme avec ce roman son projet de psycho-thriller tunisien qu'elle a commencé dans D.A.B.D.A. Cela dit, et sans parler du choix de la langue française, le roman n'a rien de tunisien ou presque (si on compte la page où ils ont évoqué la Tunisie pour dénoncer le terrorisme à la manière de nos médias). Le psycho-thriller lui aussi ne domine pas le récit autant. C'est plutôt le mélodrame qui l'emporte, avec une héroïne qui a des problèmes avec son père et un amant qui vient en aide.
L'histoire est tout de même très amusante, le scénario assez complexe surtout avec les voyages dans le temps qui rappellent un peu Predestination ou encore moins Back to the future. Khaoula Hosni a soigneusement travaillé ce coté mais - à mon avis - a en quelque sorte négligé d'autres détails dans le scénario. Je reviendrai plus tard sur ces éléments.

Pour la première fois de ma vie , je n'arrive pas a cerner ma position par rapport a ce livre , je l'aime et je le déteste a la fois , je suis marquée et je souhaite ne l'avoir jamais lu ...
Je suis toujours ce genre de lecteur qui projettent tout ce qu'ils lisent dans la vraie vie ,et je suis a deux doigts de devenir parano ( avec les 2 prochains tomes "inchallah" )
J'en veux a Khaoula Hosni , de me laisser suspendue , intriguée , inquiète et morteeeeee a la fin .. je ne sais même pas si on peut l'appeler une fin , mais si elle est arrivée a provoquer tout ce tumulte de sensations en moi , c'est que c'est un grand big énorme 5 *
Encore une fois je suis tellement fière que la Tunisie compte des auteurs pareils !

Alright. I am a crazy fan of time paradoxes, and all the complexity it brings once it entertwines with the strings of a story..
And I love the fact this is different from both D.A.B.D.A and ATP, and there's a new thrill to the plot and setting. Except with the added intricacy Khaoula has to deal with a new complexity of elements, there remains too much hidden about the story, That you can never predict the plot twist, or even take a chance at possibilities; in other words, its so tight and guarded that it gives your mind no room to brace itself, and robs you of your pleasure in predictions, and you eventually give up on trying to think it through.. And thats when I started to get bored. The only way of hinting I can think of in the book were those fleeting descriptive passages that come by in the midst of a conversation and that always started with the expression 'comme si'
By the time the final plot twist is revealed my mind was off and I was just turning pages, skipping conversations to get it over with.
I mean, Okay. The focus here is the love story, it is the dynamo.. But personally I couldn't get too emotionally involved in it. I just can't buy it.. Not enough anyway. With all due respect to the great details in describing the traumatized psyche of the scarred Sarah, and the process of fixing her up and lifting her up all the way from the bottom of her Nightmaresque experience.
Probably this is also due to the fact that I didn't have enough time to read this comfortably. And I had to make long pauses in between. Oh and If I had to pick a favorite character out of the cast I'd probably say it's the mysteriously genious Liliane.
The start was a fuse, I was triggered, curious (as usual with Khaoula), enchanted with the new elements in the writing, intrigued with the different experience, but my deception and demotivation began near the end.
On another hand, even though D.A.B.D.A remains my favorite of the trio, Le Cauchemar du bathyscaphe holds the best Khaoula quotes for me :') .. yet !

كتاب من أحسن ما قرأت خيال واسع للكاتبة خولة التي أحييها على المجهود الجبار في إختيار الكلمات والبحث عن المفردات. كما يتضمن هذا الكتاب قصة فريدة من نوعها في خصوص الخيال العلمي وهو ماحثني على الغوص فيها والبحث عن المعاني الوجودية في القصة نفسها والبحث بين الأسطر وهو ماشدني إليها أكثر
كما أعجبت بالعلاقة بين ريان وسارة بالرغم لست من المغرمين بالقصص الرومانسية قصة جملية فيها مجهود كبير لشابة تونسية طموحة وفي إنتظار الجزء الثاني من القصة بالتوفيق خولة

بكيت بكيت و النافع ربي 😢😭😭 لا يزي plot twist كي عادة خولة، لا يزي النهاية. المصيبة قد ما تتفرج في science fiction تقول ساي معادش باش تغيب عليك حتى فازا، تجي خولة تقلبلك مخك 😱
الكتاب يحكي على سارة، تخطفت و صار فيها و بعد لقاوها في حالة مزرية و فمها مخيط، في الحالة هاذي هي معادش تحب تتكلم و علاقتها مع بوها الغني ماهيش اكا الكل، صديق بوها ريان باش يحاول يساعدها و يخبيها حتى هي تتعافى و يلقاو شكون خطفها. شنو الي باش يصير؟ شكون خطفها؟ علاش خطفوها هي؟، علاش ريان يعاون فيها؟
لوكان ماجاش ثمة اجزاء اخرى للكتاب (الكتاب الجزء الاول من ثلاثية) راني عطيته 4 نجوم. اما صحا ليها خولة 😂 تستاهل 5/5 ⭐

The quarantine made me read it and I have no regret.
The book is a psycho-thriller by the Tunisian author Khaoula Hosni.
Her style is captivating and the amount of details got me running through the pages to see what’s going to happen next. This psycho-thriller is about Sarah who got kidnapped and Rayan who stood by her side after she was found .

So at first it's a bit confusing and that's what makes you turn the pages,in addition to the flawless writing.then gradually you get into that moving story,sometimes you get a little chocked but you don't get time to cover because of the rashing events but other times the story gets too slow;until that point where the twist comes and you feel like you're reversing all the story in your head,I loved that part but the end was frustrating to me,I felt like if it was dashed off or something and didn't give enough answers but maybe it has to be like that since it's a triologie;I don't know I haven't read any series.
