Three Chains: Guilt, Fear, Shame

Rate this book
The enemy of our souls wants to bind us with the chains of guilt, fear, and shame. Individuals and cultures tend to be more strongly susceptible to one or another of the three, but in Christ, we have been set free from all of them. Douglas Wilson examines each chain and points to the true liberation that Jesus brings.

I write in order to make the little voices in my head go away. Thus far it hasn't worked.

Wilson's cultural stuff is interesting but theologically he's way too captive to a certain type of overly triumphalistic Calvinism and that comes out in this; doubt and its persistence dont seem to have a place in his spiritual economy.

Short and right to the point. Guilt, fear and shame are what keep us from living our full lives in Christ and Wilson nails the analysis of these three. I was given this book when I joined either Canon Press's mailing list or Wilson's mailing list so you can get it for free too! It is great I highly recommend
