Hate-banging their way onto the naughty list might be their only shot at settling the score....

Eva Bradshaw used to have standards. But with bills piling up and a six-year-old daughter to feed, there’s not much the former Olympic figure skater wouldn’t do for some extra cash, even if it means violating her hard hockey players.

Like the filthy-mouthed, sex-on-skates hockey god who’s about to slide straight into her penalty box....

NHL center Walker Dunn has been stuck on the injured list for months. So when his trainer springs for some one-on-one time with a beautiful woman, Walker’s more than ready to take the edge off…until he realizes the ice princess with the perfect ass isn’t there to handle his stick. She’s there to coach him back into action—whether he likes it or not.

Walker puts the cocky in hockey. Eva’s a champion ball-buster. It’s a match made in hate-bang heaven.

But falling for each other? Never. No way. Not a snowball’s chance in hell....

Naughty or Ice is a sexy, steamy, enemies to lovers hockey romance and the first book in the Buffalo Tempest series. If you like red-hot, dirty-mouthed hockey players, smart and sassy women who aren't afraid to put their men against the boards, and a big, hilarious helping of bromance, then you don't want to miss this lineup!

2.75 stars. The best thing about this sports romance were the interactions between Walker and Eva‘s kid, Gracie. They were adorable.

Eva, however was not. Eva spends most of the time telling herself why she shouldn’t get (more) involved with Walker and it gets really old and repetitive after a while.

It is her job as an Olympic figure skater to get him back into skating shape after a horrific car accident has derailed Walker‘s career as a professional hockey player. She is smart enough to realize she needs to do some mental work as well - which is tough because he is cocky and obviously traumatized by what should have been a fatal accident.

What also bothered me: I think it’s so unfair to condemn all hockey players because of one asshole (i.e. Eva‘s ex and Gracie‘s sperm donor). Honestly, I am sick of that trope already. It’s been overdone. Can’t trust a hockey player again because one turned out to be a dick? Why not swear off men entirely? That’s the next step, right?

Don’t get me wrong, I totally get having trust issues. I have been there. But firstly, you should realize when you’re projecting your fears on a good guy and vilify him. And secondly, in fiction, I don’t want to read about trust issues for 210 pages! I need to see some character development, some plot, something!

And when Eva has finally taken the proverbial leap of faith, Walker‘s (not well explained) abandonment isues rear their ugly head for a last-minute delay of their HEA. The book‘s title really should have been Trust Issues vs. Abandonment Issues.

Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t not like the book; it had potential. The writing was good; the characters had that love-hate chemistry. And Gracie was super cute. But. There were just too many things that bothered me. Plus, I like my romances with more humor. 🤷‍♀️

Oh well, at least the ebook was free.

And I won’t be continuing this series; the excerpt from book two didn’t do it for me.

This was my first romance from this author. But I'm always up for a Hockey Romance and so I jumped on it. And I think you will like it too, if you like:

A Single Mom
Rivals to Lovers
Rom Com Vibes
Hockey PLayer getting tips from a Former Olympic Skater
A Dirty Talking MMC

This had just the right amount of heartwarming moments, great supporting characters, and a hot flaring romance. It may spark quickly but I also believed that they would fall for each other this way. They have a lot in common and it made it very believable.

Narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton, and what else can I say about that? Who better to spend a few hours with?

4 stars
3 on the spice scale

5 Hockey Hottie Stars

Loved this first book in a series about the Buffalo Tempest Hockey players. This standalone is primarily about Walker Dunn who is an injured player, and Eva Bradshaw , a former Olympic ice skater. She is called in to help him recover his former agility and speed following his leg injury.

The chemistry between these two is HOT. Right from the start they are attracted to each other but they have some spectacular verbal clashes. They are both fiery and passionate but it makes for compulsive reading.

I loved how sweet Walker was especially with his Mum and Eva's daughter Gracie. He is such a gorgeous hero and he just ticked all the boxes for me.

Great story, lots of heat, humour and some poignant moments too. I'm looking forward to reading more books about the Tempest guys.

HEA? Awwww yeah!
Cheating? No

My first review in 2017 and I wanted it to be a positive one :-)
Sweet love story, likable MCs, cute kid.
A bit much of hockey, but not boring.
Believable and without unnecessary drama.
Safe!

just call her Eva “profession duffel bag slinger” Bradshaw.

but seriously this book had so many questionable moments that i can’t even begin to list them all and i won’t (but can someone please tell me what five year old can read something as dry as the Hobbit and actually love it enough to think the movie is bad?? please?? anyone?? i’m just—) i’m just glad it’s over and done with.

the actual percentages ended up being: 60% innuendoes, 30% boring, 6% smut, and 4% hockey.

thank you again to the one and only, arianna, for experiencing this journey with me. i love you, but let’s not do this again.

thank you and goodbye.

This was such a cute listen, one of those easy, breezy ones that swept me away. When I finished I was surprised because it went by so quickly, and it’s only because I was enjoying it so much. Eva is a single mom who is an ex figure skater and Walker is a hockey player with an injury, so his team hires her to get him back on the ice. I loved that their chemistry was instantaneous, these two were like magnets and their attraction was so hot. They also had excellent banter, always a bonus for me and while Walker is stubborn and bossy with Eva he was a giant cinnamon roll with her daughter 🫠 If Teddy is narrating I’m listening and if he’s narrating with Samantha?! Even better, these two are amazing together. It’s the first in a series and I’ll def be continuing on!

Whether she realized it or not, Eva Bradshaw had the power to obliterate him, and there wasn’t a damn thing Walker could do about it.

5 stars!

This book was such a fantastic surprise!! It has been on my tbr for years, and I'm so glad I finally decided to pick it up as I loved Walker and Eva so freaking much. Both had been scorned by love in the past--Walker by a father who abandoned his family and Eva by the father of her child--and neither was looking for a relationship. However when Walker suffers a car crash that threatens his hockey career, fate intervenes and brings them together, even though they try and fight it. The sexual chemistry and tension between them was so delicious to read as they both fought their attraction, and I loved watching them give in to the best temptation. Overall, this was an absolute knockout, and I highly recommend🖤

Tropes: hockey/figure skater romance, hate-to-love-you, no-strings attached, tortured hero, single mom heroine, will they/won't they, holiday romance, band of brothers, found family, STEAMY🔥

WOW! Sylvia Pierce has scored again! Naughty or Ice is fantastically sweet, steamy and oh so sexy. She has once again delivered a story replete with heartwarming and set-your-blood-on-fire romance. I’m totally in love!!

Eva is an award winning Olympic skater. But when her life took an expected turn five years ago, she made the decision to give it all up, and she’d do it again in a heartbeat. But now dealing with a domineering and overbearing Mother as well as with bills piling up, she has made the decision to return to the ice – but this time to the one place she promised herself she’d keep her distance from: a hockey rink.

The most important thing in Walker’s life is hockey. But after suffering a serious injury, he is forced to remain on the injured list until he finally heals which doesn’t seem to be happening as quickly as he prefers. So when his trainer decides to hire a woman to help re-train and get him back on the ice, the only thing Walker has on his mind is getting her into his bed. But Eva is not there for any other reason than to get him off the bench. Walker and Eva are quickly entranced with one another and the sparks between them quickly begin to fly. But when hurts from the past as well as secrets get in the way, will their relationship quickly come to an end or will Walker and Eva be able to make it over those hurdles and find together the future and happily-ever-after they both deserve?

The connection between Walker and Eva is incredibly provocative and sensuous. You can practically feel the heat flowing page after page from the moment they look into each other’s eyes. And the inclusion of Eva’s little girl, Gracie, was an absolutely magical addition to this story. Another success for Sylvia Pierce. Naughty or Ice was outstanding.

Let’s dive straight into this review. This was a very character-driven story, with the characters skating around each other until the tension finally erupted. There was lots of fiery chemistry, which I loved. It was also fast-paced, which is something I tend to struggle with. That said, it was good—but lacked a bit of substance.

Basically, it’s about an injured hockey player who needs help getting back into the big leagues. So, a former Olympic champion becomes his coach to help him with movement and regaining momentum. They’re at each other’s throats from the beginning, but that angry tension quickly turns into desire.

To be honest, does he deserve a spot back on the team? Not really. At times, he acted like a toddler throwing a tantrum, and from what the story showed, he wasn’t doing much to help his injury. There was no mention of physiotherapy or conditioning—it purely followed the romance between the characters. I found this more of a funny, spicy romance just to pass the time. Also quite unrealistic to circumstances. Unfortunately, these are characters I’ll likely forget.

If you’re after something quick, easy, and character-driven, feel free to pick it up. I do recommend the audiobook, though.

Eva Bradshaw was an Olympic figure skater. Now she was hired to work with NHL player Walker Dunn. His career is on the line and with a mother in private care for dementia, he needs back on the ice and these last contract years.

The two find themselves drawn to each other, but Eva burnt by a hockey player before and with a daughter to care for needs to be professional as this could lead to a greater opportunity. Just when things look like they could be heading for the HEA life throws a monkey wrench in and risk it all.

If you are in the mood for a quick, easy, steamy, funny, sweet, and heartfelt romance, check this one out! I loved the plot, the writing, the banter and chemistry between Eva and Walker, the way they met, the humor, the single mom aspect, the flow, and of course the narration!

The audiobook is performed by two of the best, Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton! They really elevated this one for me, I loved the way they brought the characters to life.

Unexpected

I loved this book. I had no idea what to expect from this author, this is my first book from her. I bought it on a whim because I'm a sucker for sports romances, especially hockey. I am so glad I took a chance on it. I loved the characters and want more of them. Roscoe and Henny need books too. I highly recommend this book and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

SIR WHY WAS YOUR FIRST THOUGHT THAT YOUR COACHES HAD BOUGHT YOU A PROSTITUTE TO GET YOU OUT OF YOUR HOCKEY FUNK.

I love their dynamic, and I honestly wish this longer. And like damn, the tension. He is so sweet with her kid, I literally die.

Basically this is like Ice Princess or DCOM Go Figure but for adults and romance so 10/10 would recommend.

The ice melted for me

I didn’t care for it. I no connection with any of the characters. The book was boring for me not even the sex scenes were interesting. I found myself drifting off. Every reader doesn’t connect with every authors book. I’m not saying that it is a bad book for everyone it just wasn’t for me. Until next time y’all happy reading.

Really surprised by all the high reviews. I loved the characters but felt really cheated by how under developed the story was! I thought it could have gone much deeper and needed more substance. Everything was too short and everything wrapped up too nicely. Too bad ☹️

No plot and lousy dialogue

This book was boring and one-dimensional. The plot consisted of one device, the interactions between the characters were exaggerated and unbelievable, and the dialogue lacked wit. Definitely not worth you time or money.

Story Vibes:
This was an absolute delight to listen to! The chemistry between Eva & Walker was instant and hot! The ex figure skater/injured hockey player vibes was absolutely captivating and I loved every second of it!

Narration Vibes:
If 𝑇𝑒𝑑𝑑𝑦 𝐻𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑡𝑜𝑛 narrates it, I'm gonna listen. And, he narrated Walker in the best way! He brought all the dirty talking and banter and delivered it epically! 𝑆𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑡ℎ𝑎 𝐵𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑚𝑜𝑜𝑟 is an absolute 𝙌𝙐𝙀𝙀𝙉 when she narrates! She brought Eva to life and I felt more like I was listening to a friend than a character in a book! These two together were a delight to listen to!

Overall Vibes
If you love hot romcoms, filled with lovable characters, a great story line, and lots of banter, you don't want to miss this one! The spice spices in all the right places, and dirty talking Walker? GIVE ME!!!!! It's the first in a series and I'm already looking forward to book 2!

Overall a nice sports romance but I was actually expecting more. More depth, I think. More drama. Or well... more plot describes it better. Like the chemistry was there and I mostly liked the 2 characters even tho she had a tendency to become annoying because the "oh we can't be together but we can to have sex oh no we can't.... blahblah" was exhausting to read. But I thought I would read more about the actual set-up of him overcoming his injury and how the relationship would develop etc. It went all a bit too smooth and too shallow in a way.

Also, that kid definitely was older in the first draft. lmao Like a 5 year old whose fave book is "The Hobbit" and who hates the movies because she's obsessed with the book and the movie sucks. Oooookay. lmao Like really... can authors stop writing kids as these supernatural and superficial beings and just let them be kids? Sigh.

Like I said, it was an okay read that didn't really leave a big impression on me. It's not bad but nothing that stands out and like I said... I just think the overall plot had potential for more.

A CR.

Walker was a 6'5" 250 lbs hockey pro out of commission
6 months after a car crash injury. His team sent in Eva,
former Olympic figure skater, to help him skate more
efficiently, smarter, faster. He felt insulted- he already
knew how to skate! The author telegraphed a conflict of
interest early on.

Walker was responsible for his Mom w/ dementia who
had some lucid moments (in an assistant care facility) &
2 brothers in college. Eva had a 6 YO dtr Grace. (She rec'd
no child support). Walker was crazy about Grace. I wish
the MCs had deeper love and affection. And a slower burn.

I liked all aspects of the book, but I feel like they could’ve been touched on more. I’m not usually one to critique a book this much, especially one I liked, but this book was fairly short and I think had it been more drawn out, I could’ve connected with the characters better.

I enjoyed the dual narration with Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton. They definitely played a banging audio performance.

walker and Eva's kids relationship was so so cute and the way he was with his family but apart from that they suddenly were so attracted to each other then suddenly in love within the space of about 2 weeks?? and then walker was so dramatic when he found out about the job for no reason at all so it just felt very fake. and I do love a good sports romance especially hockey so that was good.

Heartwarming

Loved everything about this. Two people with two similar loves for the ice but two completely different worlds. Love seeing the understanding and deep appreciation they have for the others' sport. It's got everything a warm fuzzy hallmark movie is with a hint of spice. The only downside I had is that it didnt grab my attention at the beginning. Believe me though, that isn't stopping me from wanting to read the next one though.
