When Tiffani is mated to an Atlan warrior believed lost to mating fever, she will stop at nothing to save him, including sneaking into an Atlan prison to seduce his beast….
Sick and tired of the dead-end path her life is taking, Tiffani Wilson heads to the nearest Interstellar Bride processing center to start over. She’s promised an amazing mate, an Atlan Warlord who will not only relish her plus sized body, but heal her lonely heart.
Commander Deek of Atlan has lost control of his inner beast and sits in an Atlan prison cell awaiting execution. Unfortunately, nothing can save an unmated male.
When Tiffani’s transport to Atlan is denied due to her mate’s unstable condition, she will stop at nothing to save him and the life she was promised. Her mate is out there, he’s in trouble, and she knows she’s the only one in the universe who can save him.
Deek and his inner beast take one look at Tiffani’s soft, lush body and know they will do anything to possess her, even if it means pushing her sensual limits or taking her over his knee. But it’s not just Deek’s tenuous hold on the beast that stands in the way of their happily-ever-after, for Deek’s descent into mating fever was no accident, and his enemies will not surrender so easily.
There was no zero-to-sixty here as the heat level started at scorching and never left! This was my first read in this series but it has whetted my appetite for the rest as Tiffani and Deek’s story heated up my Kindle in the most delicious way.
Tiffani is ready for a change. With nothing holding her to Earth, mating with an off-worlder sounded like her chance for a relationship, for a family. With an enticing glimpse of her mate-to-be she is more than ready. Little did she know she would have to gather all her strength and fortitude to claim what is hers.
“He’d been so rough and now was gentle. He could be both. He could be everything.”
Deek is big, brawny and beautiful. Okay, handsome. Over the top soldier handsome with an extra dose of strength to go with it. When he is saved by none other than his mate, he is shocked and surprised but smart enough to grab her with both hands. Did I mention he was good with his hands? *ahem*
“Mine.”
There is intrigue and friendship, betrayal and lust in this short story that raced along way too quickly. In-depth character development may have been sacrificed to include all the elements of a passionate, suspenseful plot but it’s impossible to complain when the results can’t be denied. Tamed by the Beast is passionate, scorching romance with emotions to tickle your heart. ~ Diane, 4 Stars
Too much sex, too little story. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE good hot sex scenes but I want two or three parts story and one part sex. This seems to be the way this series goes though. My favorite line “Your bride fee will be donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society Milwaukee," Go Milwaukee.
3.5 Sci-fi Smutty Stars I’ve read a few of these over the years, typically when I find them discounted as I’m cheap and 5 buckaroos is a lot (for me) for 200 pages of alien smut fluff. I recently got my hands on a free stack, so I decided to research/reread things a bit. This is the 7th book in the Interstellar Brides Program (IBP) series, which is the original series. They are somewhat in chronological order but this series eventually spinoff/crosses over to the IBP Colony series, and there’s another one out there the IBP Virgins, but I haven’t read any of those yet, so I’m not sure if the virgins cross over or not.
They are all VERY formulaic. 1. Starts with an erotic dream at the testing center. 2. There’s a conflict. (Atlan in mating fever, attack, etc.) 3. Sex, sex, sex. 4. Couple (many times h) save the day. The H’s are overprotective, besotted alpha aliens that are basically big humans with tinted skin. The h’s are typically feisty and curvy.
Bottom Line- This was one of the better ones, but my rating is for smut. There’s no real feels here… nothing deep.
** Random connections- Dax & Sarah (**mated to the beast) are the couple that smuggles Tiffani in. Sarah is sis of Seth (**fighting for their mate)
*****Original Review***** This is the third book I’ve read from this series, and they all follow a formula. Earth females enter into an alien mail order program called the Interstellar Brides Program that matches them with their perfect mate. I believe the program is set up to reward soldiers that have fought in the Hive wars. *They are always perfect matches, so there’s an insta-love-lust thing going on. Tamed by the Beast was enjoyable Sci-smut.
It’s a quick (200-ish) easy read, and can technically be read as a standalone, but you’ll get cameos from previous mc’s. The blurb sets it up; Deek has lost control of his beast, and scheduled for execution, but Tiffani isn’t having it. I loved Tiffani; she’s totally kick ass, and fights for her man. Deek is the typical alpha alien besotted by his human mate. There’s a smidge of OW drama; Deek was betrothed to Tia, but it doesn’t turn into anything. My only complaint is that I predicted the twist fairly early, but it was still a fun read.
Bottom Line- Mindless fluff with low drama or anything deep. If you’re familiar with G.G. it’s much the same. They are smutty, but not heavy, or violent/dark. I picked this up on sale for .99
This one had such promise for me. Yet the curve ball thrown in to the mix was so frustrating and stupid it actually kinda made me grouchy. I liked the two of them together, but the drama was just silly. Narration was wonderful.
Unfortunately, there wasn't any one thing wrong with the story, it was just kind of boring. :/ I love the insta-love theme. Too bad this was was just okay.
This is probably my favorite couple of this series.....because his mate is bad ass. Tiffani finds out Deek's in his fever and scheduled to be executed, but she insists on being sent to him. She stops at nothing to save her mate, leaving her world for a man she has never met who's in beast mode....bad ass. She saves him a couple of times and I just love it. Did I mention that she's also quirky and funny as hell....I meant to. Definitely my favorite couple of the series. And you know how I love this series....one of my favorites, more like one of my favorite addictions. Always need more.
Rating: ❤️❤️❤️ Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 due to frequency Narrator Performance: Female: 🎧🎧🎧🎧 Male: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
The main thing to know about this is that it has LOTS of sex. They were always getting busy. To the point that it was too much and it takes a lot for me to say that. I'm not even sure if I've ever said that...
I found the plot to be extremely predictable. The culprit and what they did was really obvious.
This is the romance between Tiffani and Deek. Tiffani is a part of the Interstellar Brides Program and is hoping to find her perfect match with an alien. However, there are some complications. The alien she has been matched to is about to be executed. So she travels all the way across space to save him and show him that she is his mate.
This one was so much fun!!! I liked it a lot, especially it stays away from the reused plot devices in the first couple of books in the series. I loved seeing a tall and plus-size heroine, and a hero who is obsessed with all of her curves!! I also love this planet this book takes place in, and love the "beast mode" concept! This is one of my favorites by Grace Goodwin, and I hope more of her books leave me feeling this happy :)
TW: drugging, death, murder
TROPES: alien romance, fated mates, mail order bride, "mine", plus-size rep, possessive, tall heroine
Alien smut? Yes, it absolutely is. If that’s not your thing, then it is most definitely ridiculous. The protective aspect and spiciness of the Atlans was as expected - intense protective nature and detailed spice. Each story has a slightly different plot and this one is about the betrayal from another male Atlan. THAT part of the story was pretty good. It was different than the other books in the series.
It would’ve been nice to have more plot in here. It literally opens with a sexual fantasy and that’s mostly what you get. I liked the idea of the bride index more than the execution.
I like my stories with plot and a side of smut, but this went the other direction 😅
I think this was my favorite book in the series so far. I enjoyed having characters from a previous book, Mated to the Beast, play a large role in this one and I enjoyed that there was more plot to the story as well. I would have liked a bit more wrap up at the end, for example it would have been nice to find out what Tia's reaction was to the situation with her father.
Grace Goodwin has ruined me for all other alien romance novels. Correction… she has ruined me for ALL romance novels. After reading her material, I find the others to be tame, dull and overall anticlimactic. I am not ashamed to admit that I have read each of her books at least twice.
The Interstellar Brides series takes place at a time where aliens are real and there are several different planets and species. There is a galactic enemy known as the hive, which is a technological species that invades planets and either kills its inhabitants or transforms their captives into one of them. A coalition was formed between the planets who are at war with the hive. Each member of the coalition is required to supply soldiers and brides to the cause. Soldiers to fight the hive, and brides to repopulate the diminished that have fallen victim to the war. There is a neurological test that a bride takes to me matched to their perfect alien planet, then their perfect alien match on that planet, through a series of sexual desires that only our subconscious can answer for. Earth allows for volunteers to apply to the program, or grants female criminals the option to become a bride over a prison sentence. Those who volunteer are paid a healthy sum of money, and those who are prisoners are given clean slates. All applicants are required to give up their Earth citizenship to become a resident of their new chosen planet. A bride has 30 days to accept or reject their match. If they accept their claim, they are mated to their new alien husband for the rest of their lives where they are expected to make babies. If they reject their mate, they are assigned a new one on that same planet. Where they are still expected to make babies. Warden Egara makes continued appearances throughout the series as she is the one who processes the brides on Earth.
Written in first person, Tamed by the Beast is book 7 in this series and follows the human bride Tiffani Wilson and her alien mate Commander Deek from the planet Atlan. Tiffani was a willing volunteer, a big girl by human standards, who never found a good guy on earth that treated her right, and was ready to find love among the stars. Commander Deek was processed for the bride program before returning to Atlan after a sudden case of mating fever hit him hard. With the help of Warlord Dax and Sarah (from book 5), Tiffani sneaks into the prison to cure Deek’s mating fever before he was scheduled for termination. It worked, Deek’s beast was accepting of their mate, and they were released with honors. Unfortunately, we find out after Deek’s mating fever returned again, that he was poisoned by his own cousin with a drug called “rush” that caused his beast to lose control. Tiffani helps trick a confession from Deek’s cousin, placing herself in danger, but Deek shows up to save her in time. It was all quite sweet and romantic and all that jazz. However, the very idea that a society would even consider a death sentence, when they know of this drug’s existence and symptoms, without testing for it first? THAT is where I’m like uh-huh, suuuuure. *eye roll* Anyway… the two fall in love and live happily ever after, blah blah blah.
Atlans are humanoid, and are probably my FAVORITE of the alien species. What sets them apart from everyone else is their massive size (they’re larger than humans and all other aliens), and they have a split personality of sorts that they refer to as their “beast.” Their beast lives inside them, very much with its own personality, and only comes out during danger or mating fever. When the beast comes out to play, they grow bigger - with elongated fangs, sharp facial features and bulging muscles - and their main personality takes a backseat behind the scenes.
There have been way too many romance novels I’ve read that had me frustrated and yelling “Jesus Christ, when are they gonna fuck?! Get to the good shit already!” When we’re 50% in, and the main characters have barely kissed each other, leaves readers like me aggravated. This is NOT one of those books. The very first chapter gives a very clear indication of what we are in for. I’m fairly confident that there is more sexual content in this book than adventure. It is, quite literally, word porn.
The first few books in this series were a little too hardcore for my tastes. Which is saying a lot because I am far from a prude and consider myself a person with a healthy and active sex life. Filled with bondage and S&M, the consent line was a little blurry in some cases. This book was a little tamer with a much clearer line of consent, making the book even more enjoyable. Spankings take place in every single book. If any man spanked me, I would probably kill them in their sleep, but I guess some women do enjoy them. Spankings are more of a turn-off than turn-on in my case, so I just ignore those parts of the books like “nope, that didn’t just happen.”
As I’ve read through this series and all its spin offs, I can attest that the plot is incredibly addictive. I am way too invested in each book, in all its adventure and romance. This book is no exception. I heavily recommend it.
Someone must work on the names for the male main characters, SERIOUSLY! Last time it was Dax (if I remember correctly) and now it's Deek... I mean, seriously??! Deek? While the female characters get better sounding names like Tiffani (not a 10/10 but better than Deek). I know they are supposed to be aliens so their names should sound different, but is Deek the best the author and editor(s) could come up with?
Anyway...
Deek, as I said is our hero... and is boring as watching paint dry. The circumstances he starts the book in and during the story are somewhat interesting, a good idea, but a good idea that goes nowhere with how white bread he is... and a white bread made with margarine instead of butter.
Tiffani, is our main female character and... she fares no better than Deek. Boring and a bit annoying at times. There's not much background to her and not much to connect with her, except her strong motivation and determination to save her "mate", but beyond that she easily becomes stale.
The story has a good start, an interesting plot that sadly gets easily guessed or explained and ends up in a comically dramatic way. At the beginning it's interesting enough to drive the read, but soon grows boring, plain, meaningless and by the time the "plot twist" came I just didn't give a rats ass. Of course, let's not forget the real reason this book was written for, PORN, which sadly, for this book is also quite boring. The starting scene gives a strong vibe and seems to paint something heady and very powerful, but the moment the characters actually meet this fizzles out and dies. And... I'm beginning to be annoyed by the whole "spank your bare bottom". This author needs to check a dictionary for synonyms at least if she's gonna continue with the same formula.
I give this book a 2 out of 5 only because the plot started ok...ish and because at least the ending made sense with the story and plot. But... BUT... it's definitely not worth paying to read.
Tiffani Wilson doesn't have anything left on earth. So what does a girl do, she goes to the Interstellar Bride Processing Center, to try and find her mate. There is a slight hitch in the plan, her mate is set to be executed. Commander Deck is in the mating fever. It's where his beast takes over, the only thing that can cure the fever is the help of his mate. Being an Atlan Warrior he is very strong and very big. Will Tiffani be able to tame her beast long enough to have a future?
Let's start, i'm not a huge fan of alien romance but there was something about this book that i just couldn't put it down. Tiffani is one brave soul. For one she put every last penny into this Bride Center to find a mate. She then find outs he is about to die before they get a chance to even meet. She has some balls to go and save Deek. Especially hearing all about the fever. Oh man she is brave. This book also had a hint of mystery in it. I won't say what about, i will say GO TIFFANI!. Deek, i kind of picture him as a bigger Dwayne Johnson. Just the description of him had me picturing him. Crazy, i know, but totally understandable. He is this selfless commander. He cares a great deal for his people and falls hard for Tiffani. The Atlan warriors are a possessive and jealous type. I don't normally like that but let me tell you it was sexy. Grace is a new author, but i instantly loved her.
Lock Me Up With The Beast And Throw Away The Key!!!!!
Holy Atlan hotness, Grace Goodwin has hit another home-run… and this novel has nothing to do with baseball (except for the really BIG bat…did I just say that!?). I have a confession to make, I’m completely addicted to “The Interstellar Bride Series” and “Tamed By The Beast” is one of my all-time favorite novels. Hot Atlan warrior beast…check… courageous, intelligent heroine…check… suspense and intrigue…check… awesome world building…check… enough heat to fry a Kindle… check, check, check! Professionally written and fast paced, this little beauty (ahem, the only thing that’s little) is one worthy five star read!
Go ahead, you know you really want to… one-click “Tamed By The Beast” you will be soooo glad you did!

Tiffani is matched to an Atalanta Commander but her transport is stopped because her match has succumbed to mating fever and is scheduled for execution. Commander Deek (Warlord Dax’s commander) is in prison awaiting his death, unable to tame his beast. Tiffani insists on being sent to atlan to try to save him, which she does. But at their mating party, suddenly his mating fever is back, telling everyone that their mating isn’t true and real. Tiffani loves him and doesn’t understand. But that night, she suddenly begins feeling and acting very oddly and Dax and Sarah realize she’s been drugged with rush, which would have made Deek look like he was in uncontrolled mating fever if he were drugged with it. They discover that his cousin, a counselor who has a history of drug and arms deals, had overdosed him more than once in order to get him killed since Deek had turned him in prior. Of course, Tiffani confronts him to try to get him to confess so he can’t get out of it like before, while Deek gets out of prison once it’s confirmed. After a brief battle, all is well, and their love is confirmed.
Same dual narrators. Still prefer the male narrator. Tiffani is a “big girl” and the comments about her size being replied to “well you are small for an atlan female” cracked me up. Hot, as usual, spicy scenes.

Normally I love Grace Goodwin's Interstellar Brides series but I had some issues with this one - and I don't mean the price, seriously though £3.99 for a book that is barely longer than a novella? I usually wait for these to come on offer at 99p but I had Amazon vouchers so I treated myself. First, the heroine keeps banging on about how big and fat she is - gets a bit wearing, her mate is an Atlan beast (so lots of "MINE" in the book) so to him she is actually small. Second, the conflict created midway through the book was contrived, pretty unbelievable and it was ridiculously easy to work out what was going on - ergo I was shouting at the book, wondering why the characters took so long to figure it out! The sex is, as always with Grace Goodwin, seriously hot - if you don't like your books packed with steamy sex with hot aliens then you ain't gonna like these. This is the only book I've read in the series that I've been a little disappointed with - the fact I paid £3.99 for it might have factored into that somewhat but the storyline was not one of her better ones. I do highly recommend this series though if you like alien smut (and have deep pockets as these ain't on Kindle Unlimited) with a reasonably storyline and no noticeable errors.
I trudged through this thing... It's an erotica, point blank, which usually isn't what I reach for. I read this as a favor for a friend (not Goodwin), so I give points for the completed novel and few to no errors, which is impressive in and of itself. What I found lacking, causing a lower rating, was the complete absence of world building and the characters have no discernable characteristics. I can't even tell you what it main characters look like other than "fat with dark hair and low self-esteem" and "tall, super tall, and full of himself."
The "beasts" that the Atlans shift into are basically Hulks, though not green, and they grow claws and sharp teeth. What I picture is like a cross between a werewolf and Hulk. The women don't have these inner beats, and only women can sooth the men during mating fever. I don't like the Insta-love that happens, nor do I like the perfect match and one true mate combo, because a later novel indicates the match system can make a mistake. That's after saying the second match may not be as intense.
To put it simply, I'm not a huge fan, but the sex scenes are decent.
This book was very predictable so that made it a bit boring at parts but the spice was great.
The female protagonist was the second so far that’s been described as 6 foot or nearly 6 foot and that’s strange as that’s an extremely rare hight for a female so to have 2 already.. I’m wondering if the writer was slacking on the descriptions or what. Also it got so annoying that she kept putting herself down about both or hight & weight even though she was told repeatedly that she was perfect for him.
I liked that she jumped right into the mating literally saving him from extermination as he was in mating fever.
But the storyline with the second cousin trying to push his daughter on him to mate or die was 1.gross they are family & 2. You knew he had an agenda (having already been found doing illegal stuff that he got away with, we know he is power hungry)
The drugging and being put back into prison to be killed for mating fever was annoying to me as it was so predictable & the necklace really if took them that long to figure it out 🤦♀️
Not my favourite book of the series the the spice was still fun
I have read this Author before, and the one thing I enjoy , is that the books are similar, yet different . In this book , Tiffani is a " big girl " . Not the size 0 - 6 that the media wants us to think is " normal " . So , she has felt that know one , especially men , could see her worth . So , feeling alone and alienated from her community , Tiffani signs up for the Interstellar Bride program. She has been matched to a fierce Alien Warrior , from Atlan . These WARRIORS have a Beast inside them , that helps make them one of the best fighters in the GALAXY.
Only one problem, Her matched mate is scheduled to be terminated. Which means that she will have no mate.... Which means that she has No where to go ....... Will Tiffani sacrifice everything for a male that she doesn't even know ? Or will she just let this male die because of his biological make up ???
Tiffany is a full figured woman who is fed up with Earth and all the drama and men. She puts her trust in the intersteller bride program to find her perfect match. Not only is she eager and more than willing when complications arise she demands to be transported to her mate. Commander Deek is scheduled for execution after he has trouble controlling his beast. As they parade unmated woman after woman in front of his cell to entice him to mate his beast rejects each one, wanting only a true mate. Even at the cost of his life the beast isn't willing to settle for anything less. I found this story a little refreshing. The woman is all for it. She wanted her man or male. Wanted what the bride processing dream showed her. She wanted it all. This story had a little more substance that others. You get a little drama with uncovering a secret plan rather than just plenty of sex. Although there is plenty of that too!
Tiffani is alone in the world. Both her parents are gone and she never had siblings. Living a boring, nothing interesting life she embarks on an adventure to be with the "One." The true mate for her. The man that will worship her rubenesque body. Signing up for the interstellar bride mate program is her best option. She is matched to an Atlan named Deek. Currently, Deek is in a mating fever and desperately needs his mate Tiffani or else he will be executed. With her transport being cancelled or delayed and fearing for her mates life she embarks on a journey of a lifetime to get to Deek. The fire is raging and roaring when these two collided a break the fever. With a little backside slapping and a lot of Alpha male dominance can Tiffani let go of her past and see how amazing she and her future is?
Tiffani Wilson doesn't have anything left on earth. She has no family a dead end job So she goes to the Interstellar Bride Processing Center, to try and find her mate. She is matched to an Atlan named Deek. Currently, Deek is in a mating fever and desperately needs his mate Tiffani or else he will be executed. Commander Deck is in the mating fever and his beast his taken over, the only thing that can cure the fever is the help of his mate. Tiffani finds out Deek's in his fever and scheduled to be executed, but insists on being sent to him. She will stop at nothing to finally have her happy ending. This was a short fast read that steams the pages. I've read a couple of the Brides books and this is my favorite so far.
I really enjoyed this one. It was way smuttier than the previous ones if that's possible hehe. I really liked we got to see a little more of Dax and Sarah bc they've been my favs so far. It was interesting that this book had a lot more from the guy, Deek's, point of view. That made it really hotter but at the same time it took a while to get used to bc a like it more when it's the women's perspective when they're getting railed but anywho. The conflict was all right but I kept wanting more Hive content tbh which is what really hooked me to this series, actually. Which is why book 5 remains my absolute fav for the moment. Hopefully we get to see more Hive plot in my next readings but solid book in the series nonetheless.
