Fall in love with a dangerous bad boy? Check.

Wait like a hopeless idiot for him to come back for you? Check.
Meet him again nearly ten years later and have your heart start racing like a schoolgirl? Goddamn it, check.
But fall for him all over again like a romantic fool? Hell no.

Avery

We had been kids when we had promised each other forever love. And after joining the Army, Alex Nash had sworn to come back for me, to pull me out of the violent and abusive hellhole I called home. But he had forgotten. A soldier out exploring the big wide world, why wouldn’t he throw away a small town nobody like me?

I had done my best to forget him. I had done my best to move on. But life had been hard on me and I was now trapped in one of the most dangerous places in the country, the ganglands of Hell’s Messiah. As if the stakes weren’t already high enough, I had the most precious object to protect—my daughter.

I was surviving. Managing.

Then suddenly, in a rolling cloud of biker dust and engines, he rolled back into my life. I was shocked to see him, of course, but even more shocked to see what kind of man he had become. No longer the idealistic boy off to join the Army. Alex now looked like a worn and weathered hard biker with the muscles to prove it.

And he remembered me.

Worse, he wanted me.

Stuck between a gang and a biker, I wondered if I’d come out of this alive.

**
Alex:

Sniper. Mercenary. Ex-Special Forces.

All experiences that led me away from the promise I had made to a girl back home. I had broken that promise of returning and I knew, in the process, had also broken her heart.

I had thought her lost forever and had settled on torturing myself with the guilt I felt for abandoning her.

Then on a mission in the badlands of Texas, of all places, I see her again. Avery.

And I know without a doubt that this time I would get it right. This time I would keep my promise.

She’s hesitant. She’s hiding something from me. She’s keeping me at arm’s length.

But I don’t care. Because there was no way I was walking away from her this time.

**Although this is part of the Easy Team series, Surrender To Me is a totally standalone novel with no cliffhangers.

MC and military combined

Story was good, but it felt like it needed to be fleshed out a bit. I was a little disappointed to find that I reached the end and I was only 44% through the book. Im not big on teaser chapters in general, so I skipped them, but the author included a second novel as a free bonus. This was great, but I still felt a bit let down when the first one ended.

A military MC bad boy story? Yummy! It doesn't get any better than this hard-hitting novella by Gemma Hart. Surrender to Me is part of the Easy Team series, but is a totally standalone novel with a kickass happily ever after!

Our story starts as Avery and Alex are saying goodbye because Alex has joined the Army. He wants to make a better life for he and Avery--away from the crime, drugs, and trashy trailer park of their current existence. Even though Alex is leaving, he promises to come back for Avery and take her away to a better life.

Fast forward 8 years...and the lives of Alex and Avery are very different--but they are not together. What happened to their dreams? How could two people who were so in love be so far removed from each other's lives?

The novella asks the hard questions and takes us step-by-step through the reconnection of these two characters. The twists and turns of the plot are sometimes painful to read.

Get the book. Read the story of Avery and Alex. Be afraid for baby Lily. Cheer when the bad guys go down. Definitely s 5-star read. (I voluntary reviewed a copy of this book provided by Hidden Gems.)

BAD BOYS

Indeed some very bad, boys. But with a twist of sweet. The author captured the essence of good and bad in one go. When you meet your love you will get a HEA

Avery and Alex grew up together and in the same town, their lives were not easy in fact Alex was on his own at an early age, and Avery lived with her parents who couldnt care less. The both of them were always there for each other, until Alex went off to be in the Army and it would be 8 years before the two would set eyes on each other again. Avery feel in love again after no contact with Alex and even had a baby but with the situation she has lived in she only lived for her daughter, Alex never expected to see Avery in gang territory but he vowed to do what he could for her to make up for the past.

What I enjoyed most about Surrender To Me is watching the love that they both shared all them years ago still very much there, but not sure of each other as she is what it seems apart of this gang and his cover is that he is apart of another gang. Watching Alex take to Avery's daughter right away and wanting to make life better for them and to not walk away from the love of his life again. Seeing Avery be put in a situation to tell the man she loves to pretty much walk into his death to save her daughter while it breaks her apart.

This is another wonderful Easy Team story that I feel in love with, these books capture my attention and I cant stop reading as I need to know what is going to happen next. This story has a Woman Avery who is so much stronger then she really thinks she is who has lived through love and loss twice now, A Man Alex who is apart of a Team to take out the bad guys posing as a gang member to help solve a mission, A story of two people reuniting after all these years and again finding their love for each other. If you like stories like this, then Surrender To Me is a must!

I received this ARC book free in exchange for a voluntary honest review. Short Novella, with a bonus story and a sneak peak. Avery has had a hard childhood but met her savior and love when she was thirteen, however he disappeared after leaving for the military leaving her in a dangerous gang war zone. Shortly after she met another young man who cracked her heart but led her into danger greater then she was aware of. Meanwhile her first love rose in the ranks and became a part of Easy Company, however he would regret that he left Avery and stopped responding to her until it was too late and Avery disappeared from their childhood home. Meeting eight years later in the middle of a mission was not how Alex thought he would finally locate Avery. He also could not have predicted the love that he still felt for Avery or the lies he would have to start their new relationship with. Then Danger creeps up and both will have to find a way to sacrifice but not lose everything in the process.

5 stars This is an awesome contemporary military vs gangs romance. Avery grew up in poverty, surrounded by gangs, evil and her best friend, Alex. Neither had anything except the other. Alex left to join the military and planned to l send for Avery. Fast forward 10 years. The members of Easy Team are on another covert mission into an extremely dangerous and unstable gangs area. Immediately they recognize one another but the long ago trust is broken and Avery's been living in Hell a long time. I love the way Ms. Hart develops the story with bits and pieces so as you read you learn more about all the characters. The readers can see where they've been and why they're where they are. The story contains intrigue, suspense, twists and turns as well as surprises. I received a complimentary copy via Hidden Gems and voluntarily chose to review it. I look forward to more books in the future by this author and hope this series isn't over.

This is the 3rd book in the Easy Team Series and can be read as a standalone book.
Avery Hannon grew up in a gang ridden part of North Carolina, she had a tough childhood, dodging gangs, drugs and her father’s fists. Alex ‘Ten’ Ryder also grew up in the same neighbourhood as Avery. He protected her from the gangs and her father. They were childhood sweethearts. Alex joined the army to get out his rotten life, was going to do basic and call for Avery. That never happened. Eight years later, Avery has a daughter and a dead husband, Alex is a member of the Easy Team under assignment near Point Brick Texas, unincorporated land that is used by Hell’s Missiah MC, known for drug trafficking and women trafficking. Avery wants out but is in debt, Alex wants to save Avery and her daughter. Do they get a second chance with everything going on?

There was nothing wrong with the plot or writing, I think it was such a short story that it made it hard to believe. I know these stories are fiction but there has to be some element of possibility that it could happen. I don't know many people who just meet back up after years of radio silence and can just pick up as if nothing happened. Friendship maybe but not love. They both have gone through so much that there is no way they could possibly be the same type person. People change and grow as they mature and have life experiences. I love HEAs as much as the next person but I want to believe it can happen. Maybe if they got to spend more time together and learned more about each other it would be more believable.

Avery and Alex grew up in harsh conditions. Alex is supposed to save her and free her from all the ugliness that they grew up in.

Forward on to later on many years later. Avery had to move on because Alex didn't come when she thought he would and now she is in a different kind of hell. It seems as she cannot catch a break. You will see when you read more in the story.

Tennessee is on Easy Team and the next mission is one that will mean so much and change things. It's a good thing Tennessee is good at what he does or you never know would could happen. Him and the rest of the Easy team are close and that has helped them through all these years.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is the fourth Gemma Hart book I've read. When her books hit my in box as an option I scoop them right up. This series is the first person, but alternates between the characters. She delineates each chapter who the character is. In this installment of the Easy Team, we are introduced to code name Tennessee, and the love he left behind many years ago to join the military. In this fast paced novel Easy Team has to infiltrate a motor cycle gang and try to stop their reign of terror.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book..

I love the Easy Team series! I was anxiously awaiting Tennessee's story! The plot was good and flowed smoothly. It was great being with the rest of Easy Team. I'm going to be sad when this series ends. I loved the characters. I thought they were easily relatable with their heart wrenching story. I was glad these two were able to have their HEA. Lily was a breath of fresh air with her humor and innocence. It was a relief from the gut wrenching seriousness of the story line. I can't wait for the next one!

Avery has had such a hard life. While she's stuck intended to a horrible biker gang her first love comes back into her life. Now to pay her debt she has to betray Alex. Over all a good read. It really puts you through the spectrum of emotions. I voluntarily received this as an advanced reader copy.
