One night, small town Texas girl, Evie Carson, goes to a concert on a photographer’s press pass to see her brother’s best friend’s popular band. She doesn’t expect to meet Joey Adams, drummer for the up-and-coming rock band, JACT. Sparks fly and a life-changing adventure begins.
Joey Adams is living the life. He’s on a nationwide tour, drumming for his band, who are also his best friends, opening for the chart-topping band Infrared Flamingos. At a tour stop in Dallas he meets sexy, sweet and sassy Evie Carson, and he has to have her.
Join the tour and enjoy the ride as Joey and Evie’s lust at first sight quickly turns to love.
Wildflowers is the third installment in the JACT series, a novella. Each book has a different level of steam, and each can be read as a standalone, however it is recommended they are read in order.
Jennifer was born and raised on Long Island, in New York. She relocated to South Carolina in 2002, where she met the love of her life. They got married in 2008, and live their happily ever after just outside of Charleston with their fur-kid. When she’s not reading or writing, she works as a behavioral therapist for children with autism. She is also a graduate student, pursuing a graduate degree and certification as a behavior analyst. She enjoys amateur photography, traveling, and music…it’s a bonus when she can combine all three. Jennifer is also a breast cancer survivor, having been diagnosed in 2017 and declared cancer-free in 2018. She independently published her debut novel, Our Moon (JACT 1), in June 2015.
I need more JACT! The boys in this band have completely stolen my heart. From volumes 1 & 2, we know Joey and Evie fell in love at first sight and have kept that love burning for 5 years. Wildflowers tells us the story of how they met and fell in love. Their story is definitely an unconventional one, but that didn't stop them. Joey and Evie grew up in completely different family situations, but their upbringing was exactly what brought them to the same place at the same time. Joey learned early from his parents, how not to love. His parents were not stellar role models, but luckily he has his “brothers” in the band gave him the family he never had, until Evie. Evie grew up in a loving family, she always had the support of her parents and brothers. All she ever wanted to do was spread her wings and fly, and Joey is just the man to help her do that. I completely devoured this book. I could not put it down. This couple was just so sweet and adventuresome. I really loved learning how they fell in love. It is a great short read without a lot of angst or over the top drama. If you do not believe in love at first sight, you will after reading Wildflowers.
I have been following Jennifer from the beginning and from the first book (Our Moon) I knew she would be a fast favourite of mine. Wildflowers didn't disappoint. This book follows Joey and Evie who we met in Our Moon. It's a flash back to their whirlwind, crazy journey. It's beautiful. sweet, emotional, and funny. I absolutely adored it. A must read series, best read in order to fully appreciate each book.
I love the JACT series and so excited to get Joey's and Evie's story. Wildflowers is a sweet head first romance. I love that they both were so willing to just go for it, no regrets. The story is beautifully written and I fall in love with these guys each time I read part of the series. I'm really excited and patiently waiting for Alex.
I absolutely love the characters from the JACT series and was so happy to get to read the back story of how Joey and Evie met and fell in love. They are one of my favorite couples. This was such a sweet romance. Joey and Evie are perfect for each other. I would definitely recommend reading this for yourself.
I love this series and was looking forward to what Jennifer L. Allen had in store for her JACT groupies.
Wildflowers is a wonderfully written glimpse at the backstory of Joey and Evie, two free spirits whose whirlwind romance teased readers with wanting details about their relationship. This story takes readers on the road with the JACT boys, back to the initial moments of touring, to the times prior to their success as a band, back to the pain they were trying to work through while continuing forward in life.
Although this is a short novella, it is packed with great details and romantic moments. Readers will learn about Joey’s past and the fears he holds inside, the love he has for those he lets in, and they will connect with Evie’s passion for life, her compassion for others, and her fierce independence that shines through. Through their interactions with the other minor characters, as well as those from JACT, these two well-developed characters, bring forth a depth and reality that can’t help but have you understanding the love they have for one another. This is a beautiful romance!
* It is highly recommended to read the series to understand all the details, but one could read this and then go back to the beginning. Just be prepared that there are some moments that may be ruined for the other two novels in the series.
LOVE the characters in this series, although I consider this another "young adult" book. For those of you who read my reviews, you'll notice I am not a fan of "young adults" but tend to read quite a few just because the story line pulls me in.
I prefer my characters over 30. (Yeah, I'm old...I also believe 20's are too young to find 'the one').
This was a quick read and pretty repetitive as the author kept reminding the reader what happened in the first 2. It kind of took away from the story so I'd really like to give this a 3 star but I like these characters too much.
Would like to read Alex's story....hope this isn't the end.
This is book 2.5 in the Jact series. They can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest you read them in order to prevent any confusion or spoilers.
This book goes back to show us how Joey and Evie met and the beginning of the JACT band. Evie goes to see JACT in concert because of her brother. She ends up meeting Joey who is the drummer for he band. The band is up and coming at this time and is opening for another band.
This is a nice short book but it is nice to learn some of the back story. You always read a book and wonder how certain things happened and this is one of those books that answer that question. This books help you to learn more about Joey and Evie. It was interesting to see the fear that Joey had. The character were well written and this was a nice addition to this world.
