Cute

The characters were cute. They had chemistry throughout the whole book. It kept you on edge. You could sort of figure out what was going to happen later down the road, but I was happy with the ending.

Claressa worked hard to get where she is now, and even though other don't think she deserves it, she works hard. Being lead on a gruesome case is going to test her big time. Especially with the other detectives giving her crap and her dad testing her.  Then a blast from the past comes back to town to test her heart the heart he broke years ago.
Armel is a Bear shifter and a bad boy :) oh and let's not forget HOT. He left town years ago breaking the girl he loves heart. But after all his years away travelling he slowly returns to his home, Claressa.
If you are like me you are probably wondering if Armel loved her so much why did he leave and why break her heart he way he did? Yep an when I found out I was angry not at him. Him I felt such warmth for on how he Claressa and not being bitter. A good man. Claressa I felt her torn a few times between Armel and her dad. Typical protective dad with a motorcycle bad boy around his daughter. When the truth comes out about the killer? WOW!!!! Claressas loyalties and obligations are tested. What she has to face and the betrayal? God I was in tears with how she felt about it.
Such a good read, hot and emotional.

Claressa tries hard to show she deserves her job as a detective. Between being a female and the boss' daughter it isn't easy to get respect. Now, people are being torn apart and she needs to find the killer. As she works on the case, her personal life gets complicated when her ex returns to town.
Armel is back in town and knows some don't want him there. He only cares about Claressa. He is a shifter and kept that from her but others know.

I enjoyed the story and the characters. Claressa is a strong woman who has to walk the line at work with her father being her supervisor. She is smart and determined and I liked her drive to do what is right. Armel kept secrets from her to protect her but in the end that rarely works. They have great chemistry and you want them to get that second chance at love. There is an interesting twist I did not expect at all and really complicates everything for the characters.

While this book started off great with providing a worthwhile murder mystery it somehow got lost once it was solved. For me I was very disappointed with how this book played out. I felt the author just wanted to hurry through the mystery just to delve into the paranormal romance. Hence a need to add a Christmas theme and a mating ritual.
On a positive note, the book was easy to read and the main characters had great chemistry and melding.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This was a quick read for me. It was a good book, I just felt like part of it was rushed. Claressa Jones is a police detective in Texas, investigating her first case. All of her clues are pointing to bear attacks, but in suburban Texas? Enter her former high school sweetheart, conveniently a werebear, and clearly not the criminal, however...

Bear truth. This book was a good read! I was surprised at the suspense and who the real murderer was. Clarissa had to try and find out who was trying to blame her friend for the murders. She knew she loved Armel and would do anything to protect him. The story ends with a happy ending for Clarissa and Armel to live together forever.  I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. An easy reading short steamy re-kindled romance Great characters, loved the first chapter the details of the crime scene were vivid and really grabbed your attention.
But, then unfortunately the book concentrated more on the lusty attraction and very little on the crime solving, not what i expected from such a action packed start.
