Hello, I'm A.C. Melody: Indie author of all things Erotic Romance who doesn't believe in skimping on the dirty or gritty details.
I have a weakness for hard-ass Alphas and the strong women who capture their hearts, without damaging their rough edges.
As an Indie advocate, I've been sharing helpful tips and resources on my blog at https://acmelodyblog.wordpress.com There you'll discover the Indie Resources section on the main menu where aspiring writers can find great ways to save time & money. :)
I've recently started publishing serialized fiction on Kindle Vella, to include Fox Trot (Dark Day Isle, #3):https://www.amazon.com/Fox-Trot-Dark-.... Head on over to get the first 3 episodes completely free!
Avarice Unforgiving is exactly that – unforgiving. Book 1 was Cat in the Hat compared to this continuation. Just when I thought I was on the same page with this author and had delved into the psyche of Kameo Kross, and figured everything out, this read slapped me in the back of the head and said, “Nice try.”
But I wasn’t alone. Kameo herself has many questions she, nor anyone else can answer. At least, not anyone who’s willing to answer…not yet.
On a rollercoaster of emotions and need, Kameo is caught between her mysterious Dom and her ruthless boss. Both men feed the degrading submissiveness which is her joy and her shame. And then there are the jumbled memories of her ‘Bull Man’ and Halloween which still torment Kameo.
Not one who believes in happiness, Kameo feels that even if she gets what it is she’s been searching for, she won’t be allowed to keep it. That agonizing thought drives her to a decision – walk away.
Easier said than done. Honestly, she never had a choice.
Kameo finds out someone knows of her past – the bad and…the bad – and even the circumstances of her birth, and is out to blackmail her boss, Kress, and ruin her. Not believing she can sink any lower, Kameo is still appalled at the way the information is delivered…and where.
M.W. Kress. An enigma unto himself. I had thought certain things through about him from book 1, but even my twisted mind didn’t go…there.
While trying to understand how and why she has become someone’s target, Kameo must reconcile with new revelations. The circumstances of her birth are not what she’s believed all her life, and she’s not whom she thought she was. Well, actually, she’s not sure who she is. Kameo has to open her mind to things ‘normal’ people would never believe. Even with doubts still pulling at her, Kameo knows what she’s seen…and experienced…is real.
With mild trepidation, Kameo decides to accept what is offered and steps out on Faith. (Did I really say, ‘Faith’?) This is when the story is bum-rushed by a tornado of a plot twist that left me just staring at the screen! Trying to kick start my brain, I proceed to the last chapter…and the annihilation of my brain was complete. I have no words.
Avarice Unforgiving is a complex, tightly written story – there is no wiggle room. And you will wiggle. It will make you squirm. Much of the world building includes things many of us have been taught or read. Avarice Unforgiving will challenge you.
Of course, it is a cliff-hanger! This author…maaan! Book 1 left me hanging on with two hands. Now, I’m hanging on with one hand…and reaching for book 3! There is a disclaimer at the book’s beginning – please read it! This is not a comfy, little read. Though short in length, you will not “breeze” through it. Much like Kameo Kross, you will be tormented…and you will enjoy it. Go ahead and 1-click. No judgments here.
I had the pleasure to beta read this novella. Hot, well researched, and utterly captivating! This is the middle part of a trilogy and I'm going to keep this short because I don't want to spoil anything. Kami's fate begins to unravel. Get ready for mystery, shocking revelations, and one steamy scene after another. My screen certainly steamed up while reading! You need to read the first part to get what's going on here, but if paranormal romance is your thing, I highly recommend this series.
I received this book from A.C. Melody in exchange for an honest review. As many of you know, I am pretty critical with books and most romances only get 2-3 stars from me and the same is true with most novellas.
I find that many of the novellas run into what I call the curse of the novella. The curse (as I call it) is when you just don't have enough time to fall in love/like with the characters or they spend too much time trying to get you to like the characters that the plot line simply fails. Avarice Unforgiving does not fall into that curse.
This is a continuation of Avarice and it does deal with Demons, masochism, sadism, and a whole lot of bondage. Personally, I loved and related a lot to Kami and her masochism. It was really amazing to see how an author can describe the extreme kind of masochism that many masochists are too scared to admit they have.
The relationship between her and the Dominants is delicious and very deviant. Honestly, this was a pretty good book and I recommend this book for anyone that loves dark romances.
This book is special. I loved book one and I was thrilled to get the opportunity to read the second book in the series. Kami was a captivating character and I was eager to read more about her.
The erotica in this book was as intense as in book one. Mr Kress is still an intriguing Dom and the sexual tension is palpable.
There's a major twist in the story that I will not describe here, but I will say that it was unexpected and much needed. Just at the point when I was starting to lose my interest in the story, this twist turned the whole story upside down. It catapulted the book into another genre and for the good.
Why I give 4 stars instead of 5? Well, it had been a while since I had read book one and there were absolutely no flashbacks to what had happened before. It took me quite some time to get back into the story and figure out what had happened earlier. I would have appreciated some pointers. I also thought some scenes were unbelievable. The scene where Kami hears about her heritage, she is tied down and still sort of in the middle of an intense play-scene. I thought that improbable. She is half in subspace and half giving lucid responses to what Mr Kress is telling her. I found that scene hard to believe.
Does that make this a bad book? No, not at all. I love the characters. They are deep and well-described. The story is captivating and I can't wait to read book 3.
I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Just WOW - After reading book 1 and it ending on a confusing cliffie (at least confusing for me) I have learned that Hell on Earth series is a Trilogy. That helps considering book 2 also ends on a cliffie that confused me, but I sense book 3 will tie it all together. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, while a little confusing at the end, it DOES NOT takes away from the main plot or premise of the book.
The story continues as Kameo comes to grip with her past, her boss, her erotic needs, her future and what is going on in the world around her. I don’t do spoilers but I will say that the readers as well as Kameo are in for quite a shock as the plot thickens and more questions arise. Does Kameo know what she really wants and needs? Does her Boss? Does she ever get her memories from Halloween night back? Exactly Who is Kameo’s Boss and for that matter who is the Bull from Halloween night and the guy from the BDSM Club? Do any of them have true feelings for Kameo? This is a Very Dark Erotic Suspenseful Story that this reader HIGHLY recommends and personally can’t wait for book 3.
Had a great word flow and very descriptive scenes. The hotness of every touch will make you swoon and get feverish. I did find Salph to be sexy as all get out, but I was a little lost while Kami was coming to terms with her reality.
When Kami finds out the truth, her world implodes upon itself and will try to take her as well. Salph has waited for over twenty years to finally claim his Kami. There are some secrets that should remain secrets, but when facing a Dominant such as Salph, nothing is safe.
I know this is about good and evil with some major erotica thrown in. Was too short but the suspense of not knowing will keep you reading.
Wow! This second book in the Hell On Earth series explained so much from the first book I’ll be honest, I didn’t quite get the religious story in the first book (eh, it happens) But I got it now
Finally figure out who Master D, Mr. Kress, and the man in the bull mask are I enjoyed the modernization of this story, and the kink helped a lot too! I think I’ll let you be your own judge, but A.C. Melody gets 5 Naughty Orgasms for her brilliance! Can’t wait for the next book!
'Avarice Unforgiving' by A.C. Melody is advertised as being dark erotica and so I couldn’t wait to read it….plus ‘Avarice’ ending on a cliffie…..
So we pick up where book 1 left off and I can’t say much more since it would spoil the ending of book 1, but in this book we learn a bit more about who M.W. Kress is and how Kameo is connected to him. There is a really involved story going on, but we still need more of the pieces. We are told it will happen in 6 days on Kameo’s 24th birthday.
I don’t want to say more to spoil the ride, but it definitely leaves you wanting more since not all the puzzle is revealed in this book. Again, there is a whole ending about some Phaedra which is confusing to me since I don’t know the first thing about what the author is referring to.
The story was a bit choppy, but I think that is intentional since things are not as they seem and bits and pieces are being revealed and you don’t know how they fit together yet. So while I enjoyed the story and typically I love suspense, this one was a bit hard to get lost in. I was focusing too much on trying to put things together that I couldn’t fully enjoy the ride.
