Hot, sweet office romance with D/S elements between boss H and his assistant h. This book had some of my pet peeves so I'm rating it lower than I could have.
Story: h starts working for H, a brilliant, self-made businessman/ stand-up guy;and is attracted. H is already in a loving relationship which seems headed towards marriage, so though h pines, she tries to distract herself by dating.
My peeve here is the author made h out to be one of those women with sh!tty taste in men - she finds cheaters, men who live with their mom, men who expect her to pay, abusers etc. I think this a technique authors use so the H looks like a God by contrast! Its insulting to women and their judgement and even to men as a whole - I wish author had written the h choosing decent men, maybe that they parted bcos they simply weren't right for each other.
In the H's case that does happen, the H breaks up with the ex (who he was in love with) as he is highly attracted to the h. But then when he is single he doesn't make a move on h. He is a Dom and so his need for kink is more important than being with h, so though H and the h become friends, he continues dating women in the scene for years, even bringing the women to his office - when all he had to do was have a single conversation with the h!
If he had he'd have found that the h had been extremely curious about D/S since she was a teenager and had tried to talk ber boyfriends into experimenting, but so far none of them were interested.
So now h is flirting online with a new guy and the H finds out about it. As usual h is interested in learning about being a submissive. The H knows that this guy actually is a bad Dom and offers the h one night to introduce her to kink, its more a friendly offer than anything - he even gives her the alternative option of introducing her to another Dom, a safer , saner one.
The h of course is all in and they have a hot few hours in H's office. When H does aftercare, h realises that he has the aftercare stuff in his office and when asked H admits indirectly that he has played with many others in his office - some just like her that he introduced to BDSM. That made me cringe:/ So when the h was sitting in his sofa or his desk every workday( as his assistant) the H had probably boinked or spanked or eaten out other women just a few hours ago in there??! I was so glad right then that the h had dated and not waited around frozen for this guy!
h is obviously upset and runs away and H goes after her and h admits she wants more than one day and H is all in and they get together.
I wasn't so sure about the H. It seemed to me he wanted the h only on his own terms. She did all the work and admitted her feelings. If the h had never outed herself as kinky or had chosen a good Dom or even gone with the H's other option, it seemed to me the H would have continued with the status quo. h just didn't seem like a huge priority to him and he didn't act like a man in love, who'd move mountains to get his woman. I couldn't buy it.

I picked up this book the other day because it seemed like a really good read. It hit's many of the things I love in a hot story so I was hoping that it was going to be good.
I've never read anything by this author before. But now that I read this novella, oh my God, I'm going after more of her books.
This was super hot. A dreamy Alpha who's also a Dom... and his confession of love.. God that was so hot.
Definitely five stars for me. I can't wait to read more of her stories.

Snowed in with the Boss is my first book by Lili Valente, and it will not be my last. This little holiday novella was the perfect morning read. It was quick, deliciously dirty, romantic, and just the right dash of Christmas.
The relationship between Tennyson and Jane carry this entire story. From the opening page, Tennyson’s dominance and confidence is the stuff of dreams. Even through the written word, his demands can be felt, but the dominance conveyed through his word is nothing compared to the authority he exudes physically. His control in the office and his control of her desires and pleasure mixed with the obvious feelings he as for Jane makes him a hero to love.
Jane longs for a man who can give her what she needs in the bedroom. She has had issues finding a man that isn’t a lost cause, and this is partially because of her feelings for Ten, but also because of her proclivities in the bedroom. She finds everything she needs in Ten, though, and what I love about her most is that she has the confidence to take the chance with him.
Once they commit to the experience, the chemistry between them is off the charts. Even with the dominant and submissive relationship, the emotions seep through, and the reader falls in love with them as a couple.
The plot of this story is the perfect pace and the perfect amount of details for a novella. The reader is thrown into the relationship, but Lili Valente does an excellent job at establishing the relationship for the reader through internal dialogue of the Ten and Jane. There is never a question about whether or not they care or whether or not this is more for either one. Does this mean it’s all cookies and milk? Nope! The characters still have miscommunications that lead to the climax of the story, and when the reconciliation occurs, there is no holding back. And that epilogue, oh that epilogue is absolutely unreal! I loved it, as it is everything that encapsulates this couple.
The characters, the plot, the romance, the BDSM all make Snowed in with the Boss one of those books that I will continue to return to this time of year, every year. With it’s perfectly paced and developed plot, lovable characters, and intense office scenes, readers will fall in love with this holiday novella. It is an absolute must read!

I thought that this book was good

an easy book but with many points that caught my attention. In the pages of the book we follow Jane's initiation into more unconventional sexual relations and a dominant-submissive relationship. I liked the fact that they emphasized the checks that should be made in the relationships between the dominant and the subject to know what you are getting into and the word for safe word (blueberry muffin) seemed quite funny. Sad but the truth is that many people post old pictures on the Internet and in reality they appear older and completely different than in pictures.
Maybe a little too long on what was presented or maybe we should have found out if they were actually getting married

This was a short book and I think that contributed to my not loving it. There really wasnt much going on in this book. We meet Jane who is dabbling into the BDSM world, seem very shy and quiet. Her boss actually ends up being her teacher. Ten is very confident and cocky and super rich. And that is about it for me lol I didnt really feel like there was much more in this book. I am happy it was short or it probably would have fallen on a dnf list for me. I would not suggest this book to anyone with an aversion to the bdsm lifestyle as it does have a little bit in it, but I also wouldnt suggest it to those who enjoy that lifestyle as it didnt have much.

If you're looking for a good plot, this is not for you, but if you want hot smut with a bit of story, check this out. There was almost no explanation for the snowed in part of the title, other than the obvious reason that it snowed a lot. I did wonder why only the two of them were there, but the story jumps right in with Tennyson asking Jane to be his submissive. The smut is the main focus and has some Dom/sub and BDSM elements. I thought it was fun and it's short so I got through it fast.

Snowed In With The Boss was a fast paced sexy romance between a boss and his employee. Ten and Jane both have had feelings for each other but a snow storm, curiosity and some explosive sexual chemistry finally get these two to explore what could be, even if it is just for a night. I really was happy with how the author addressed the consent between a Dominant and the submissive, too many times it is forgotten that it is supposed to be safe, sane and consensual between the parties. This is one book that you can easily read in an afternoon, on a cold day because it will heat you up for sure. I am looking forward to more books in this series, especially if the heat factor is the same or hotter than this one was.

I started Snowed in With The Boss by Lili Valente a few weeks ago and put it aside because…wait for it…it was TOO HOT. Wait a sec, cool your jets. I just wanted to wait until I could take full advantage of the mood it created if you know what I mean.
Holy cow. This was a sexy little holiday novella! Ten and Jane have both been attracted to each other for years. Tennison is the billionaire boss who always treated his employees with the utmost respect. But when he finds some emails on the company server that Jane was writing to a Dom who is bad news, Ten starts to realize that maybe she is more his type than he originally thought.
One night they get snowed in the office, and Ten gave her an offer she couldn’t refuse. Holy hell, it’s been a while since I read such a sexy story, and I really enjoyed it.

At only 2 hours and 21 minutes long, I really wished there was more to this holiday novella, but I must say, for as short as it was, it was a very well-paced novella with a surprising amount of development outside of the sex, and it felt complete.

The narration was fantastic. Both narrators are absolute favorites and I think the narration added to the story.

The Delight
Another short audio book that got me through the drive and back. The characters in this story were sexy, but also likable. I was brought into a world I couldn't totally envision.
Review
New to me narrators brought this story to life and I loved every minute I had with the journey. Tim owns a security company, and emails are flagged for his review when they are suspicious. when Jane, his assistant, uses a web browser to access her personal email, a conversation with a bad DOM comes to light. Now a snow storm has knocked out power and transportation is shut down. Tim leaves a note for Jane asking for one night of submission, where he will teach her what it means to be owned.
Jane has been in love with her boss for a while, but keeps dating losers. She is talking to a potential Dom, but when she reads the letter her boss has left her, she can't resist taking a chance at one night with the man she adores.
Tim does everything right and even he has had feelings for Jane for a long time. He doesn't want to scare her, but he wants more, so he holds back showing her just how good it can be between them. This only scares her off into the snowstorm.
A short story of two people completely made for each other. While naughty and sexy, it doesn't go over any lines, just a few spankings. It drew me in with the fact that while they are kinky, they also really like each other as people and can get along even without the kink.
A great story to listen too and get lost in a world that seemed magical.

So... I've been crocheting some scarves for my family for Christmas, so I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks while I stitch away.
Anyway, this book was very short, only about a 2 hr listen on Audible. It wasn't as kinky as I thought it'd be, but it worked for me. The most 'crazy' bdsm thing that happens here is some spanking. I actually liked this a lot more than most short stories because these characters had a lot of history behind their relationship. They had worked together and been friends for years, and had both secretly liked each other, so it made sense when they finally came together.

Well, this was certainly a sizzling hot little novella! It's the story of Jane and the delicious Mr Tennyson, or simply, Ten. As the title may suggest, Ten is Jane's boss. He's also a Dom with a penchant for spanking and a heart for Jane. Jane has always known she's a sub and has finally decided to actively seek out a Dom who'll train her. Considering she works for a cyber security firm, it's not that hard for her emails to be intercepted and for Ten to take action.
This is definitely not my usual type of read but I've really enjoyed the last few books I've read by this author (RomComs) so I thought I'd just give it a go and was pleasantly surprised. It is a novella so it's a quick read, with plenty of heat. I also enjoyed the romantic aspect of Ten being in love with Jane for some time and just keeping quiet about. Again, not my usual preferred genre but it was a great way to fill an afternoon.

I LOVED these two as a couple. Would have preferred their story in a longer format, but I think all the important elements were included. Love seeing both a dominant and a soft loving and sappy man all in one character.
