Saving Grindrod

Rate this book
Grindrod B.C., quiet, peaceful and beautiful. One of those small towns that is just a blip on a highway to the traveler passing through. Daniel Westford needed a place where he could become invisible far away from his native Oregon, USA and he found it in Grindrod amongst the farms, cattle and timber.

For six years he stayed under the radar working hard building a life and keeping everyone at arm’s length except his best friend and lover Layla Stormcloud. Even then she was not a local, living hours away in Vancouver and driving up on the weekends. It was one their weekends together, a clear night with a million stars and everything was right with the world. A steak on the grill, an apple pie, crickets sang and a shooting star flew across the heavens.

It’s just as well they only watched it and didn’t make a wish because this shooting star changed course and plummeted to the earth. No one Daniel included knew the revelations it heralded, secrets held close to the chest by one man and the world revealed, strangers thrown together to protect their homes and families who lived in that little blip on the highway. Six years ago Daniel Westford made a decision to hide what he is, now the decision is no longer his.

Great werewolf story

I was hopeful for a good story and was not disappointed. Lots of twists and surprises. Even the blend of aliens keep the story going. I am hopeful that there will be a second book.

Good from the very beginning

The story starts quickly, then just keeps on going. If the next book goes as it was alluded to at the end of this one, it will be well worth reading.

Werewolf, alien, and more aliens

I thought I knew where this book was going from the sample, but my thought was not even close. This book is a wild fun read and ends like there might be more in the future. I can only hope more will soon follow.

Pretty good

I've read and liked this author's other stuff, so gave this one a try even though I wasn't really very interested. Glad I did, it was good, sorta mix of science fiction and urban fantasy, plenty of action, witty dialogue, entertaining plot I will definitely read the next one.

Usually I dislike books with werewolf and yet I really enjoyed this. Aliens and werewolfs, an odd combination but it worked!

Surprisingly fun. I read this because I was waiting for the next Benjamin Jameson book to come out and found myself really wanting the next one in this series to be released as well.
