Losing the love of your life can be a tough pill to swallow. For Zoey Katlego, she was still trying to figure out which pill to choose from, though options were few. Love wasn’t something she was searching for, nor did she want it to find her. Using the defense mechanisms, she had grown accustomed to, all eligible bachelors sent her way were shot down with ease. That is until one girl’s trip to Las Vegas for the weekend changes her mind, and her relationship status. Smooth, suave and definitely nice on the eyes, Estonio best known as Esto, promised himself he’d never love a woman who couldn’t accept what love really was when it was staring her in the face. With issues of his own, and a hurt past, he swore off love until he meets Zoey. She wasn’t the woman he was in search for, but boy was he glad he had gone looking. As Zoey’s best friend and confidant, Breyah was kind of in the same boat. Falling for the wrong man one too many times had her yearning for something real. Something she could brag about and bring back home to lay up with. Deciding to take a different approach with her love life, sparks seem to fly as she meet’s the man she had been waiting for. A smart mouth chick who could succumb to his every need is what Rheem wanted in his life. As Esto’s right hand man and brother from another, he deemed it only necessary to have a woman by his side who could hold him down while he ran the streets. Not just any woman, but a queen. Realizing he has to rearrange a few pieces on the chess board to become Breyah’s king to meet her in the middle, Rheem evaluates his thinking of what he really wants in a woman. As these four step out of their comfort zones and open themselves up to what love has to offer, they realize it’s going to take a lot of work, possibly more than they are willing to put in. With different issues from their past and trying to get the hang of loving openly and freely, can they overcome everything that was set to keep them apart?
I enjoyed the relationships between the couples and following along with them. The ending was rushed so that took away from the read making it seem sloppy. If the next one comes out quickly I’ll read along with it but with as much stuff that seemed to be left out, I doubt if it takes long I’ll bother to read it.
This book focused more on the budding relationships than on the street life which kept me turning pages. The characters dealt with real problems and their reactions were believable. Their relationships developed smoothly in an unrushed manner. The men were hard headed but had great senses of humor. The women had goals and behaved like ladies and were more like sisters than best friends. There were some editing issues but they didn't overshadow the book. Great start to the series.
It had a good storyline, not your average drug dealing boy meets girl of his dreams who just so happens to be a nurse/stripper/rida. The issue was with spelling. Idk why it's such a problem to hire an editor? An editor would be an asset they could show you what the difference between SUITE and SUIT is. FYI: adding an "e" doesn't mean an expensive SUIT, lol! You wrote that the main characters were wearing a large hotel room, lmao! Suite is pronounced sweet, suit is what you were trying to write (pants or a skirt with a matchibg jacket/blazer) an editor would have caught that.
Yes this book was good love sure is a funny thing never know what heights you will go for it. I'm patiently going to wait for part two one click on this read well worth it.
You did again in the book. This book once again related to my rl so much that as you know i wanted to put it down cause my emotions was all over the damn place. Cant wait for part 3
I love the hint of mystery who did the shooting and why I am justified that while this storyline has me all twisted I love you need to get Ractis praying hoping wishing that they get it together because it looks like they in it for the long haul
I enjoyed this book. I love Rheem and Breyah's relationship. Couldn't believe the secret was not revealed through the whose story. Looking forward to reading part 2 though.
This was a great book. The story flowed very well and at the perfect pace. Zoey kind of getting on my nerve with the Ms. Perfect act when she's keeping secrets. I hope Esto is okay. #teamEsto
