Overwatch #2

Unabashed

Rate this book
She’s finally found a man who sees her for the woman she is, and she’s not holding back. Mechanic Veronica “Ronnie” Mack joined the Overwatch club because she’d given up on finding love, and decided to settle for sexual satisfaction. Then Ian, her childhood crush, walked back into her life as one of the club’s Trainers, and proved that their connection was as strong as ever. Computer guru Ian Johnson’s work kept him busy, with little time for a social life, which is just the way he liked it. Then Ronnie Mack strode into the club, and straight back into his heart. He couldn’t deny the need to make her his own, and now he’s learning that training a sub he’s in love with is a whole new adventure.

Note about the series order: After completing Unabashed, the author realized that it is actually the second story in the series, although it was written and released third. It is the continuing story of Ronnie and Ian, which started in the first book, Unfettered. Additionally, this story was originally released as a short novella in the Every Which Way anthology. It has been reworked and lengthened for this release.

We originally met mechanic Ronnie and computer geek Ian in the first Overwatch story, Unfettered. The pair grew up together, but never explored the potential sparks that hung in the air when they were younger. Now, Ronnie seeks acceptance as a submissive, and finds her dream Dom in Ian. Unabashed picks up immediately after the conclusion of Unfettered, as the pair begin a new romance and venture further into the D/s aspect of their relationship.

Although Unabashed was previously released, this version has been greatly expanded, giving much more thought and energy into developing their relationship and additionally adding in their first public scene at Overwatch. The original short was more like a slice of life, whereas this version is a more complete story with stronger relationship development.

All in all, Unabashed is a delightful romance with emphasis on developing a relationship through trust and sex. The BDSM elements are used to further the trust and growth between the pair. The book continues the ongoing love story of Ian and Ronnie, making great strides towards an HEA and true love. But their romance truly begins with Unfettered; therefore, I strongly urge readers to start at the beginning in order to fully appreciate their journey. Seeing Ronnie and Ian grow as a couple is the foundation of Unabashed, and it will not be nearly enjoyable without seeing their start.

The Overwatch series explores the passion that ignites when lovers trust one another with their innermost desires. Ms. White writes sexy stories that are both exciting and entertaining; following couples from sensual play to their happily-ever-afters. I look forward to reading more from this series, discovering each member’s secrets and desires while finding true love.

Mechanic Veronica “Ronnie” Mack is one of my favorite characters. She isn’t conventionally pretty, she has a “non-traditional” job but she is healthily secure in who she is and what she wants. Ian and Ronnie have a history that stretches back 15 years but now they are adults and have a second chance. Unabashed is a smoking hot read that will take you into the mind and hearts of Ronnie and Ian and have you rooting for them both.

I think all I can say at this point is this; lock me up with Ian and throw away the key. Holy shit that man is everything. He was thoughtful, sexy, funny and loving. Simply a perfect package. And I really loved Ronnie. Being on the tomboy side myself it took me a while to accept myself as a woman who knows she can see sexy when time comes.

I absolutely loved these two and now I can't wait to see what "troubles" wait for Adam and his HEA.

Almost a hundred pages, yet not much of anything happens. There's very little conflict driving the story, there's some growth in Ian and Ronnie's relationship, and honestly for romance/erotica, there's not even that much sex. So...what's the point? They start out believing they're in love because they found each other again after so many years, but the little growth we see is almost entirely sexual, not emotional. And there's no real attempt to mesh their lives together, rather than just their bodies.

Even when viewed as Part II to Unfettered, I still feel like I'm not getting a complete story.

Unabashed is a quick read continuation of Unfettered. It delves into the new relationship between Ian and Ronnie as they explore what works for them in and outside Club Overwatch. I loved the patience Ian had for Ronnie, her trust in Ian and the open communication between them. A good romance book with a side of kink.

Wow I loved this short story. The story was well written and the characters were intriguing. To have had a crush on someone and then years later for them to come back in your life. Is it fate or not. This story pulled me in straight away.

A beautiful love story that was filled with emotion. I liked the characters and their connection was so strong especially since they had a past which gave the story depth. I didn’t like how short the story was though because this couple was so enjoyable that I wanted more. Good story

Ian and Ronnie were friends as children and Ronnie had a major crush on Ian but then Ian moved away. Fast forward fifteen years and they meet again and all the past feelings come to the forefront.
Ian has been in the lifestyle for a while but Ronnie is new to the scene, with her D/s training coming to an end its time for Ian and Ronnie to begin exploring a relationship.
This was a quick, steamy, enjoyable, read.

Another Smash Hit

I rated it 5* because the author writes a beautiful, understandable story. The characters, who were childhood friends and are reunited under surprising circumstances, are continued from book 1. Everything she writes is realistic and I felt their love. This book offers a peak into book 3 of the series.

This was a continuation with our characters from Unfettered. Ian and Ronnie had an amazing night together, so, now what? They forge out their relationship, where D/s will fit for them, and how they stay true to themselves and commit to their coupledom

They are still two true and real people, and this is all about them - a great look at the dynamics in a real life relationship
