Sparks fly when Chance meets Tucker, and the flames aren’t far behind.

Heat

Chance has a job he loves as a fireman, an ocean view, and a great bunch of friends. There's no reason to change until he meets Tucker, a paramedic who works his shift. Tucker might even be worth coming out for. But when Chance is injured, it takes a toll that could shatter everything they’re working to build. Can they get through the first test of their new relationship and come back better than ever?

Flashover

Chance and Tucker return when a family tragedy forces Tucker back to Kentucky to wait out the probate on the old homestead—but they can't be together for long, because Chance can't leave work. Their few stolen moments are plagued by adversity from the locals, problems in their personal lives, and even the weather as they try to settle the farm enough to leave it behind. Can they keep it together when the fire burns high enough to flash over their heads?

Flesh and Blood

After they endure those hardships, they still face the daily dangers of their jobs and the uphill battle to prove their love is as legitimate as anyone else's.

I live in southern California, the land of no seasons. (Is wind a season?) I live with three dogs, two cats, and some tortoises. I'm married to a firefighter, which is great in the sense that some nights I get the TV all to myself, but not so great in the sense that some nights I have to figure out what to do when the washer starts leaking. (Or when there's a bat in the house, which is a thing that happened when he was working.)

Most of my books are centered around the firehouse. When you spend a lot of time around firemen, you write what you know! And what's hotter than a fireman?

Two firemen.

Enjoy!

I am one of those annoying people who moan and groan about serials. "Ack, I can't start reading the first book until all books are out!" And if you look on my GoodReads shelves, there are some pretty stellar serials that I haven't even started yet for that reason. Cut & Run for example. And the THIRDS series. I know. I'm a terrible M/M romance fan.

Getting back to Fireline. This is a re-release of Tory Temple's Firefighters series that focuses on one couple, Chance and Tucker. I read all 6 books in 2012, but not all in a row. (I think knowing that the books are competed and available calms me down a bit and I'm not in as big of a rush.) I loved the Firefighters series very much, but... reading them all in one big dose didn't work for me. (Fireline is all books condensed into one new book with 3 stories.)

Don't get me wrong, Chance and Tucker are awesome together, hot as sin and they have a passionate relationship and real firefighter action. That is all kinds of win in my book. But I got bored reading their story in one big 350+ page wallop. I actually stared skimming the sex to get to the story line. That is unusual for me.

My recommendation for Fireline is to get this book, but read the first part then wait a bit to read the second. Then read the second and wait a bit to read the third. It's a great series and my memories of it are incredibly fond and I enjoyed Tucker and Chance all over again, warts and all.

Bonus points for the sinfully sexy cover and real firefighter action!

Chance and Tucker meet when Tuck, a Kentucky transplant is transferred to station Eleven, in Oceanside, CA, as the newest firefighter/paramedic and also Chance's new partner. The attraction is instant, but they skate around it for a few weeks before they finally give in to the temptation.

I originally read these books, because Tory was about to release a collaboration with Chris Owen featuring Tor, Jake, Chance and Tucker. I had read Tor and Jake's stories, but I hadn't read Chance and Tucker, so I thought I should get to know them. I picked up book one and absolutely fell in love with these two characters. Chance and Tuck share an undeniable chemistry. They are one of my all time favorite couples. Some couples just touch you and are special even if you can't pinpoint why. For me, Chance and Tuck fall into that category.

Throughout the series Chance and Tuck face different trials and tribulations, demons and prejudices, but they always face them as you should: together. They get through it with their love still intact. Even if that love isn't always spoken, it's there in their actions and sometimes actions really do speak louder than words.

I loved this series. It's well written and jam packed with emotion and hot sex. The love Chance and Tuck feel for one another shines through on each and every page. I loved them so much that I'll be honest, I never finished the collaboration series. I read books one and two, but couldn't make myself go any further. I wanted Tuck and Chance to always be just the the two of them, not a foursome, so I'm happy to have been able to reread their story and get back to them as a couple. I can't recommend this series enough. Chance <3 Tuck forever!!!

A combination of books 1-4 of the Oceanside series. Not a bad read, but far too much in the way of sexy times [like every other page, seriously??] and not enough in the way of story-line or characterisation for me...hence it's place on my erotica bookshelf. I liked Chance and Tucker, but Tuck still has too many secrets and they were both scared s**tless of the L word. Fancy being together 5 years and not saying that they LOVE each other when it was perfectly obvious they were completely gone on each other after a few months!! Grrr.....

Review:
This is three books in the Oceanside Fire Series. If you enjoy books where the main characters have sex, fight, have make-up sex, and fight some more. This is a good series for you. The plot of this series is about the relationship between two gay parametric firefighters is Oceanside, California. Native Californian, Chance is the serious over achieving guy who never gets his mother’s approval. He also loves to surf. Tucker is the flirty bad boy from Kentucky who traded in life growing tobacco on the family farm to become a firefighter. The meet when Tucker is assigned to the same fire house as Chance. The chemistry between these two is evident and sizzles throughout the series. Maybe because I read the three books together the sizzle seemed a little overdone to my liking. There was some good action parts, to the story, but some of the scenes were redundant. The ending was good in a sort of HEA way. I wish there was more to the story line and the character development of the main characters. Both Chance and Tucker have issues, but were never really defined. Even Chance in the story doesn’t seem satisfied with what he knows about Tucker. I would have prefered less sex and more depth to the story line.

I am glad that I did not read this series until it all came out in one go. I really enjoyed reading about how Chance and Tucker came to be a couple.

These two men are both firefighters and being such a male dominated job that could have some kind of discrimination against being gay, Chance his that part of his self from most of his co workers. Their was only a select few that knew that he was gay but that had not been a problem in the past, well not until Tucker came along that is. What started out as a possible book up only between the two men quickly turns into something more when first Tucker is hurt and Chance puts himself to his fellow fire fighters and then when Chance is injured while out on a call. Tucker's injury was not serious whereas Chances was more serious and put a major strain on their relationship. The problem I found was these two men just did not communicate properly with one another. Chance felt sorry for himself when he was hurt and instead of Tucker telling him to man up, he let him carry on with his pity party until it put to huge of a strain on their relationship to repair. Then to make matters worse they still lacked the social skills between them to repair the damage they did until it was almost too late.

After working out their problems eventually Tucker had to return to Kentucky to his family farm after he found out his uncle passed and the farm had been his the whole time after his mother passed away. Going back to Kentucky was not good for Tucker because he does not know how to deal with emotional situations well and his go to is to drink and fight. Which is what he does and once again the two men have a strain out on them because Tucker becomes so distant and starts to push Chance away.

No matter how much Chance tries to reach Tucker it seems that Tucker withdraws further and eventually Chance comes to realize that if Tucker wants to come back to him and he Home they have started creating that he will have to do so on his own and in his own time.

Tucker does return but they still need to work through their issues.

Last but not least, once things are back on even ground between them again, Tucker starts to question the fact that if anything happens to either of them they are not related and could not legally do anything to be with the other. He questions whether they are really a family because of this and the worth of their relationship in other people's eyes. It takes Chance bringing in their closes friends to open up Tucker's eyes to the fact that family is who we chose not what others think.

This was a great series. I will be honest and say that I felt like for the most part Chance acted as the adult in the relationship whereas Tucker acted like a whinny spoiled brat if things was not going his way. I hate to call him that because I did like Tucker but that is honestly how I felt. But I guess in some ways they balance each other out, Chancebeing to serious and Tucker being an adult kid at times. Regardless when these two men are on even ground their relationship is explosive in and out of the bedroom. It was a very entertaining read because never knew what would set one or the other off.

I look forward to reading o more books by Tory Temple in the future.

I genuinely don’t know how to rate this! While the plot and characterization themselves are completely horrible and can probably be attributed to bad writing and really bad pacing, as I suspect that some of the niggles that happened here have nothing to do with the attempted characterization but with really bad decisions made by the author in terms of the directions that were taken, the sex scenes themselves were well thought out and incredibly HOT HOT HOT!! This author definitely knows her way around a sizzling and earth shatteringly hot sexy!! She is really really REALLY great at writing an M/M sex scene, something that MUST be credited, admired, and appreciated (because what she created, especially with how abundant the scenes were, is NO easy feat)!! But where everything else was concerned in this book - if you remove the sex scenes altogether - the author completely failed for me!!

So again, not sure how I, going to rate this ... the sex scenes were wonderful and amazing, the rest of the book was total crap!!!

I’ll need to mull this one over for a definitive rating!
