I'm interested in coal mining in Newcastle from 1800-1825, so I really only read the first part of this book, and skimmed the rest. However, it was very useful, providing a lot of detail that I was keen to absorb. If I ever want to know about coal mining in Newcastle in the later 19th century, then I'll return to this book.
