The bad grammar is inherited from the first book, no improvement at all. For a book with 3 (three) editors, this strikes me as extremely odd.
The main character is completely rewritten, again. He went from a super-IQ genius, to a rage-filled madman, then a naïve retard, then again to raging madman, and in this book he becomes calculating, cold and distant, then merciless killer and I am sure he gets other personality changes as the book goes on but this is when I decided enough is enough.
Suffers from the same bad pacing as the first book. Spoilers ahead.
This book continuously leaves cliff hangers by jumping to an action scene up to the important moment stops before you know the conclusion, and starts back by going *3 hours earlier*. This happens several times throughout the book. On top of that there are several flashbacks and combined i had a hard time figuring out where the book was timeline wise. Am i before the action scene, after, or during was a serious question to be answered several times during the book.
Spoilers here!! Other issues are how in the first book he has to have a harem to bleed off magical energy. Both books ignore this after making it a plot device. Harem with no sex. His personality seems very different from the first book on top of him making very dumb decisions when he is supposed to be a literal genius. Its a frustrating book with no accomplishments by the mc.
This book is a great read I definitely recommend it to read.(Spoiler Alert) Lord Arwain being inside Dan's head the entire time is a massive development in the book.
Was really looking forward to this book. Unfortunately main character does not make any strides forward. If anything he takes steps back. Maybe in the third book he will use some of that super intelligence he was talking about.
Typos here and there, plus some bad grammar. I loved the story but it seemed to bounce around a little too much, trying to rush itself to the final climax. Fine tuning is needed, but I can't wait to see the third book.
I liked the plot of the novel, it was a good secondary to the series. However, the second book spent about 30 percent of its time as literary porn that had no real use to the story itself except to fill a gap. While the storyline was enjoyable, I think the author spent too much time divulging into sex when a broader, more complex plot than written.
I am enjoying the story but remain frustrated by the lack of solid editing. The lack of editing is exemplified by missing commas, incorrect pronouns, and confusing syntax. That said if you can get past that, it is a good story.
