5 AMAZING STARS
I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THIS BOOK
It starts action-packed with the hero rescuing the heroine amidst gunfire and bloodshed. It was a very vivid recalling of events and I was left in tears!
Now the story starts off with a bang but it doesn't stop with the action, we also get the attraction!
This attraction both the hero (Jared age 40) and heroine (Janina age 21) are desperately trying to fight as they both fear rejection by the other.
Janina, being the extremely young and wealthy daughter of Jared's employer, is completely OFF LIMITS.
Jared was employed as her bodyguard and protector after the kidnapping that eventually lead to her mother's violent death.
"He has always maintained a professional distance between them, never failing in his duties, never crossing his boundaries..."
And she doesn't want to lose him so she never forces the issue or act on her attraction. She just wants him with her and would accept any small piece of him.
She was just so grateful to him!
"It was ages ago, but every time she’d think about that day, she’d thank the heavens for this man. He took bullets for her that day. He almost died."
However, everything changes when her father is sick and in a coma. She must assume leadership of her father corporation. She is all set to become CEO when A codicil to his living will is discovered.

After my last two books that were highly emotional, I was in a mood for something short, easy to read and with no angst, and this one served well its purpose. Guarding His Baby is the first book that I have read by Arabella Rae and it was a pleasant surprise. Enjoyable and nicely done, this was a sweet and smutty read about heiress Janina « Jenna » Fullerton and bodyguard Jared De Lucca.
After her beloved father turned very ill, Jenna is technically the sole heir of his empire and she’s now ready on her twenty-first birthday to take over the reign of the Fullerton Group. But an unexpected and irrevocable codicil to her father’s will stating that she must produce an heir, sidetracked her plan to claim the CEO position. If Jenna did not comply with it within the next six months, she will have to wait another five years to take control. Rattled by the news, but determined to get her way, she turns then to the one man capable to help her - her long-time bodyguard and only friend, Jared. And she wants nobody else to be the father of her child, but him.
Ever since he’d saved Jenna from her kidnappers on a rescue mission ten years ago, which resulted in the death of Jenna’s mother, Jared had become a fixture in her life making sure no harm ever came to her again. 4.5 'Perfect Smutty Debut' Stars
What an awesome debut read!!! Even though it's technically safe with exception , I loved how incredible obsessed Jared was by his princess! The writing is completely enrapturing and easy flowing, and their sexy moments are scorching HOT!!!! Can't wait to see what the author brings us next!!! <3 <3 <3

Eh, this was just OK.
The heroine annoyed me. I didn't find her speech in front of the board "ballsy" I found it vulgar, and there is NO WAY anyone is leaving a multi-million dollar company in the hands of a 21-year-old. I also never felt a connection between the heroine/hero. The only reason he made a move on her was because she approached him to father her baby. Otherwise, he would have just sat back and watched her date/fall in love with someone her own age.

A well deserved **4 stars** because I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story and the romance completely fulfilled all my Romance expectations.

This new-to-me author blindsided me with this sweet, scorching, completely satisfying story. Easy and cheesy, yes but it hits all the sweet spots perfectly. The sex was raunchy but it was the romance that was addictive. It did funny and emotional quite well too. And the dirty talk had me chuckling away and re reading portions. Only problem – it was over just too soon!
He has been her bodyguard for the past 10 yrs or so, since the day he rescued the 10 y.o. h from a terrorist kidnapping and devoted his life to protect this NY heiress. They both have secretly lusted after each other for some time now. So the forbidden nature of this relationship only adds to the allure.
The story opens with the 21 y.o. h trying to wrest control of her father’s conglomerate and is stumped by a codicil in his will stating that she can only accede if she get pregnant (I know, suspend the disbelief pls!).
So whom does she turn to? There’s only one man she can ever imagine giving the privilege (read cherry) to. The indulgent and affectionate man she remembers from her growing up years has turned aloof and brooding since the past few years but she grabs all her courage and propositions him, only to have him shoot her down. But she is, as I said, stubborn.
What follows is one sweet ride (for them and us) and I can’t stop smiling goofily!
Arabella Rae is definitely an author to watch out for.

I found this to be an okay read. Okay but nothing too overwhelming. The huge age gap bothered me a bit at the beginning when it usually doesn't. Probably because Jared knew Janina when she was a kid. If they'd met as full grown adults, I wouldn't have been bothered by the age difference. Ugh, it just didn't sit well with me. Other than that, it was an okay read as a whole.

Well, I am in the minority for this book. It was way too cheesy for me and I didn't find the dirty talk hot but a little too much. I am not a lover of "juice" and "cream" and such. Just don't find that sexy at all.
Don't get me wrong. I love the story line. Older man, younger woman. Virgin heroines, possessive and alpha heroes. The presentation was just all wrong for me.
The scene in the boardroom was a bit cringe worthy. I personally wouldn't want a bunch of old men to know about my sex life. It was too much.
Other things I had issues with:
❊ "The sight was enough to make a corpse come." Ewww. Gross.
❊ "Monster boner." **eye roll emoji**

This was a wonderful first book from a very talented new author, Arabella Rae. I'm amazed that this is her first book it is very well written and the storyline was completely original. I am on a roll with the older man/younger woman books and I never get tired of them. Jared DeLucca is a sexy as hell, alpha male that will surely make your panties wet and wish you had him for yourself. The prologue was heartbreaking and I felt such sympathy for Jared and Nina. Jared was in the military when he was sent to Paris on a covert rescue operation. Nathan Fullerton is an American billionaire businessman whose beloved wife and young daughter were kidnapped by terrorists while they were on vacation. Ever since Jared rescued Nina from terrorists he has been her personal bodyguard to ensure she'll never be taken again. Nina considers Jared to be her knight in shining armor and she's secretly been crushing on him for years. Her Father is in a coma and isn't expected to last much longer and Nina's ready to step up and become CEO. Before she can takeover the company she must have a child or she will have to wait 5 years while someone she dislikes runs the company. Determined to become CEO she asks Jared to father her baby because he is the only man she trusts.

It wasn't bad, but maybe too alpha-male for me? I mean, I was expecting it of course, I'm not one of those people to complain about something I could've read from the blurb and disclaimer. But a) this is, I think, my first book with such a hardcore alpha-male (who's not straight-up dominant - talking about dark romance here) b) I was expecting an alpha-male, but, due to my inexperience with this kind of books, not SUCH an alpha-male whose talk could sometimes make me laugh due to how it was just so ridiculously "I-AM-MALE" sometimes
But really, I did like it. I might even read the next Arabella Rae's book, but this time really knowing what to expect and reading it when I'm in the mood for something like that (I mean, you usually also need to be in the mood for dark stories, right).
And all-in-all, I think it was quite a good book - for me it just had the bad luck to be the first of this kind I've read. I mean, I like assertive men. But maybe just tone it down a bit? So I gotta be ready to put aside my own preferences in order to properly enjoy this :D

2-2.5 stars. This book was just okay for me. It was the story between a 21 yo heroine, who just inherited her father's company, and her lifelong bodyguard, the hero, who is 20 years+ older than her. Her father's will states that she has to be pregnant months of his death. So she approaches the only man she knows and trusts, her bodyguard, to help her with the task. The story, although far-fetched, was not bad, but the writing was not great. The language of the book is written as if the author does not speak English well. There are many sentences that don't make a lot of sense. There were a lot of wrong tenses and grammar mistakes. I didn't particularly like either of the characters. Overall, this was kind of a "meh" read.

But what he didn't know was that the young beautiful woman (Janina) was secretly crushing on him. So when Janina gets a codicil to her father's will she knows exactly who she can turn to for help. So when Janina turns to Jared her bodyguard and tells him of her plan its like a dream come true. And when these two get together they burn up the sheets.
I definitely can't wait to see what comes next from Arabella, she made a fan out of me for sure!

Books like this make me so happy. This book was awesome. Obsession, check; dedication, check; breeding, check. It was great. Jenna needs a baby or she forfits her role in her fathers company. Jared has always guarded her like she was the most important person in his life, even before he knew what it meant. This story was quick but filled with steaminess. Cant wait to see what this author has next. 4 stars

I didn’t love the heroine. There was this scene in a meeting where the h wanted to have the respect of her businessmen shareholders so she tried to talk like a guy to them. That was really cringey. Talking about how she she found the biggest c*ck in the city to f*uck to make a baby. No thanks.
I did like the Hero though. He was the perfect vulnerable alpha male who didn’t close off his feelings for the h because he’s scared of commitment.

Older gentlemen with a young CEO, he's the bodyguard has been working in her family for years. I thought it was a good read not great. Great sexual tension between the couple but her being so young she came off a little bratty. I needed more from this story I found it ho hum

This book will grab you from the first page and keep you totally engaged. Sexy, hot and fast-paced page turner. I love a book where the female is no push-over and the male is total alpha caveman. He saved her life and she turns around and saves his. Awesome job!! Loved it!!
