I love this transliteration of the bible! It's not a word for word translation but instead it conveys the meaning and essence of the writings in colorful and impacting language.
If you've never read the Bible before this is a cool way to get the gist.
If you have read the bible before (especially if you've read it a lot) this is a great way to get a fresh perspective and break you free from stale thinking.
LOVE IT!

The best, BEST bible study I have ever done!

In 2020 when the pandemic hit I felt God say in my heart to quit all your bible studies and go back to the beginning. I was doing an online study, a women’s church study and a study on my own. Not boasting, just stating facts.

I knew exactly what He meant.

I had a brand new Bible with wide empty margins from my Mr. That held a special place in my heart with fresh clean pages from She Reads Truth, so I pulled it out and went to Genesis 1.

I felt in my spirit I was to do ONLY one chapter a day and to then do some sort of art in the margin to help me remember. To dig in with First 5 bible studies that correlated and the Dr. Tony Evan’s Commentary. As well as the Message to get a an idea of the verbiage I would be studying that morning.

I was NOT an artist, crappy handwriting and crappy stick figures summed up my artistic abilities ar that time. But I was obedient and began that same day July 18, 2020. I’ve been faithful and God has been so good to me. I’ve learned a ton even though I’ve read the Bible in its entirety several times.

Today, I finished, Revelation 22, with only one chapter a day and never missing. I’ve grown so much in the Lord and this bible will forever be special to me but not as special as my relationship with Jesus. He is my very best friend!

Pretty long-winded compared to other translations, but I appreciated the whole thought instead of just a sentence. There were many instances when verses resonated deeper than when I read them in other versions, but this is not my favorite translation of the Bible.

Simplied into modern day english and really easy to understand for our time. I really enjoyed getting to see how the scriptures could be applied to my present daily life. It was enlightening.

My 2nd time reading the Bible through! I highly recommend! Grab yourself an accountability partner (because you will need encouragement when you read Leviticus 😂)

Feels sacrilegious to give the Bible anything but 5 stars... especially as a Christian. I love this version though because it is more in layman's terms, easier to understand than old english.

No, I haven't read this all the way through, but I was able to make it past Genesis for the first time in my life. This is the only version of the Old & New Testament that was completely understandable & readable. I like having this on hand for when I want to reference it or (on the rare occassion that I actually want to sit down and read the bible).

Its interesting to note that the "modern vernacular" is already outdated, much like The Good News For Modern Man version. I wonder what new translations in the same vein will be like in the next 30 years.

Took me 6 months to read this but thoroughly enjoyed it. Started Ash Wednesday and completed Aug 21. This is the Bible in contemporary language. Was much easier to read than the standard Bible. Would recommend it to anyone that wants to read The Bible

I love The Message. It really puts the age-old truths into today's language & I find that so important. It is not always as "pretty" as some of the other versions, but I believe it's a great way to expose people to the beauty of the Bible, who might otherwise turn away due to outdated language.
