About Sam J.D. Hunt

Sam J.D. Hunt resides in Las Vegas with her husband, the inspiration for the young Thomas Hunt character, as well as her two children. Her debut trilogy, The Thomas Hunt Series, put a fun and unique spin on the popular BDSM genre. She followed up with the highly successful DEEP: A Captive Tale--a dark BDSM erotic captor/captive story about a pirate and his lady that spans time and space. Her fourth novel, the full-length standalone The Hunt for Eros is an erotic art adventure that combines spicy romance with a cultural adventure based on true life events. It has been described as being like The Da Vinci Code, but with lots of heat added.

Hunt's next release was co-written with her husband. Dagger: American Fighter Pilot is a steamy contemporary romance, which follows a squadron of fighter pilots as part of the American Fighter Pilot read-in-any-order series. Following the release of Dagger, Hunt released the much-anticipated MMF/Bi/Ménage erotic adventure, Taken by Two. Next, Hunt plans to release DEEPER: Capture of the Virgin Bride as a follow-up to DEEP. When not writing, Hunt enjoys travel, community involvement, spending time with friends and family, and hiking. She spends her days writing and trying to answer the age-old question: is it too late for coffee or too early for wine?

Title: Deeper
Author: Sam JD Hunt

5 unforgettable stars

I'm not quite sure what I expected when I picked up Sam JD Hunt's Deeper, but shock and entertained are the first words that come to mind when I think about this book. I haven't read historicals in quite some time and I can absolutely assure you that I don't remember them being this stimulating, and that's saying much considering Virginia Henley and Johanna Lindsey are among some of the most prominent in the erotic historicals that I'd gravitate to. And now Sam JD Hunt has blown them clear out of my mind when I kept plowing through Deeper and wanted to find out Lucinda and Sir James' destiny. What I also loved was Henry (James' sadistic brother) and Charlotte's story with their own book, Deep, that was included with it. Set in the 1600s, this was nothing like the romanticized pirates I was used to reading about and saw just how cruel they could be.

4.5 sexy dreams stars

Even as a virgin, Lucinda is not a stranger to passion and sexuality - nor does she hide that face, which is refreshing. For once, we're not met with the overly scared and cautious woman who refuses to sample what being with a partner (or with herself as she easily admits at first) can truly feel like. Sir James' restraint... wow! Even I became frustrated in Lucinda's stead!! These two were unconventional as a couple and even more so because of James' secret. For my dip back in the historical genre, I couldn't have been any more pleased and thrilled that it was with Sam JD Hunt's Deeper!

I was left with even more questions than with the first book. Explanation it's really needed when telling a story with supernatural aspects. I usually love this authors stories however this one it's lacking on every sense of the word.

I liked the heat of the first book Deep but I really liked the story in this one. It had a sad yet heartwarming ending. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.

Ms. Hunt has another smashing hit!! I loved this book from the start. Sir James Morgan is gifted Lucinda by his brother, Henry, the infamous pirate. He captures her on her wedding day. Unbeknownst to James she is a virgin with a sassy attitude. James is a collector of rare things and in day and age a virgin of Lucinda's age is a novelty. Sir James is perplexed by Lucinda's unwillingness to submit to being a pet. Lucinda remains a virgin much to her chagrin, James will pleasure her but not take her virginity. He has secrets which prevent him from taking her the way she is begging to be taken. Will Lucinda be able to look the other way when Sir James' deceit comes into the light?

I recommend this book to readers who like smut, two roguishly handsome men and a fiery woman who is sexually frustrated.

A Pirates Erotic Tale!

A tale of the kidnapping of a young girl on her wedding day by pirates! Sold by her father to pay his debts, but yet saved from a monster to be taken by a pirate who only wanted a slave, a pet. Sir James Morgan would use her for his pleasure than cast her out. Well that is what he thought anyway. But Lucinda could not be trained and would never be a pet. Sir James could not give Lucinda what she wanted because he was already married. He swore he would not take her virginity, because when he tired of her in 6 months he wanted her to marry pure, since he could not give that too her. A soothsayer told him he would find and angel and he could not defile her. He believed in the curse. A story you must read to believe.

Reviewing on behalf of Relentless Book Chics Ramblings and Reviews

I've read a lot of erotic books and some of the scenes in this even shocked me! It's historical smut at its finest

The first historical erotic book I read was by this author and it was called Deep. I really enjoyed it so I was glad to find out she was releasing Deeper.

Sir James Morgan is the brother of Henry from Deep and after reading his scene in Deep (butter), I was curious about what he gets up to in his own life and eager to find out more about the mysterious Sir James.

The book starts with Sir James and Henry capturing a virgin bride on her wedding day. That may seem cruel but she wasn’t marrying by choice so it was more like a rescue.

Lucinda is feisty and has sass and although she’s grateful to escape marrying the man her father sold her to, she isn’t exactly happy when she learns she’ll be travelling on a pirate ship and will be passed around the crew.

Sir James is intrigued by Lucinda and asks Henry if he can keep her for himself; as his pet. It doesn’t take long for him to realise that she isn’t really the submissive type and the connection they share goes far deeper than just sexual attraction.

After her sexual awakening, Lucinda still remains a virgin though now it’s not by choice. She’s a volcano of sexual frustration just waiting to erupt but Sir James has his reasons for keeping her pure, for now.

What follows is an extremely erotic adventure with a variety of kink as Sir James and Lucinda search for the missing treasure that will save someone’s life.

I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a quick, fun read with lots of hot sex and a HEA. The scenes range from humorous to heart warming, heart breaking and extremely erotic. The heroine is innocent but rebellious; the hero is protective, affectionate and loyal. There are some interesting secondary characters too and it was great to catch up with Henry and Charlotte from Deep.

Not my cup of tea.

The best thing about this book was the cover. Before you make it to chapter three. She has been kidnapped, threatened to be raped, threatened to be gang raped by the crew. As well as threatened to be cut up into pieces and feed to sharks. By reading the blurb. You think you are getting something that just wasn't there. I also wished there had been a warning label. About the f/f. Had there been one. I would have skipped this book. Simply put this book is not hot, steamy or sexy. It's just plain gross.

I can say that, I truly loved Deeper from the start till the end with a little of everything throughout the book that kept me on my toes. I can say that Sam JD Hunt is a very talented author, but her writing what makes it without a doubt one of my favorite author’s out there.
“I am not the kind of man who gains pleasure from the pain of another.”
This is about Sir James Morgan and Lucinda who comes with a little sass in her. I loved Sir James even more than, I like Henry. Sir James may have tough, but had a soft side, but rarely showed in public instead he showed it more towards Lucinda in private. These two in many ways are alike but with totally different backgrounds, which kind of make them good for each other.
“Lucinda, you are like nothing I’ve ever met. Maybe that is part of your novelty.”
From the first page till the last these two took us on a journey of what it’s like to be pirate with Sir James, but also what it was like to be a virgin for Lucinda, which wasn’t an easy journey in these times. Along the way we get to see some of Henry and Charlotte, I’ve always loved these two together. Along the way we also meet Elizabeth and Timothy which, I can say that I really enjoyed these characters as well. In this book you get a really good storyline, but also very HOT sexy scenes that had you fanning yourself. I couldn’t wait for the next scene.
“You and I are destined to be one, my kitten. I see backward and forward, unlike most men, and I need you to trust me.”
All I can say is go one click this book and enjoy the journey these two go through and in the end. I can say that every book Sam JD Hunt writes gets better every time and now, I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
“I Love you more than I ever knew possible.”

"...the need 'deeper' than before."

Another 5 STAR read from the AMAZINGLY TALENTED Sam JD Hunt!! I highly recommend starting this pirate journey at the beginning with Henry Morgan in Deep. In Deeper we learn more of Henry's brother Sir James Morgan. Sir James rugged dominance is just a front; as the layers of him are peeled away revealing the sentimental side he has buried within. Lucinda, the strong heroine proves to be more than excepted in Sir James' eyes! "This pet was entrancing him, and the more he resisted, the more he was drawn to her." Allow the humorous banter and hidden hearts of the Morgan brothers to sweep you away in this tale of Deeper Capture of the Virgin Bride!

4 Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

Unloved and unwanted, Lucinda finds herself captured by Henry and his pirates. Sir James, Henry’s brother, finds himself intrigued by Lucinda. Will he torture her and feed her to the sex starved pirates or will they find an unlikely connection that runs much Deeper than either could have imagined?

In Deeper, Sam JD Hunt has delivered an erotic adventure that has you feeling as if you are experiencing everything along with Lucinda. Through her eyes, she opens you up to a time where pleasure is sort in many ways and with so many possibilities.

Sir James is intriguing and has a pull to him that you can't resist. Although he is a complicated man it's clear he has a softer, loving, and caring side.

Lucinda is a fighter and her appearance is deceiving. Hidden within is a bright, clever young woman who's a fighter.

I found myself captivated and intrigued with their story; Lucinda and Sir James both held me captive with their journey. However, I also found myself wanting more from the characters and more depth to their story. With this said, Deeper is an erotic story rather than a typical erotica romance, and this is not a bad thing. It's different and unique considering the time period in which this story is written.

This erotic story is perfect for those wanting an erotic adventure with a difference.

I'm not sure what just happened! Freaky hot pirate sex, time travelling BDSM lovers, Virgin heroine, swashbuckling heroes that are disturbingly funny? I loved Deep, but this is crazy good! I read this in one sitting, not because it's on the short side, but because putting it down was not an option. Every chapter was like its own little cliffhanger! After reading Deep, I would never have thought James to be as lovable as he was. The fact that he not only opened himself up to Lucinda to love, but he would do everything he could to ease Bess' suffering. I loved that Henry and Charlotte were so present in the story, but it was Timothy (and Bess) who was the most surprising. That side 'relationship' gave so much depth to James. Lucinda was definitely a wild card, but not campy or silly. Her innocence didn't hinder her headstrong actions; it made them adventurous in a reckless way that was exciting. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed with this read. The more I read by Sam JD Hunt, the more I love her writing. It explores so many areas of erotic romance, and this fantasynotfantasy aspect of the Deep/Deeper books is an awesome balance of past/present. More please!

This was a terrific pirate story, set in the 1600's in the Caribbean. Brothers James and Henry Morgan are swashbuckling pirates stealing gold and Henry ends up stealing Lucinda on her wedding day. Her father arranged to have her marry a nasty man as a payment. Lucinda was against the marriage and accepts her fate on the pirate ship hoping for a better outcome and to finally experience sex and perhaps meet a man to love her.
"...a man so handsome that her insides fluttered as if she'd swallowed a hummingbird when he set his dark eyes on her."
"A lover, my needy little kitten, can provide far more than babies and food in your belly. The right one," he said as he knelt between her knees," can take you to heaven."
"She was a woman with a mind and a soul, a dangerous combination in his primitive opinion."
This book also includes Henry and Charlotte's story, with an interesting tale of time travel as well as their odd relationship.
This was a wonderful read and I will definitely be reading more by this author.

Sam J.D. Hunt brings sexy to the high seas, I loved Deep: A Captive’s tail and couldn’t wait to get the chance to read Deeper which is a stand a lone, but reading the first one will set the mood. (smiles).

You lose yourself in the era of the pirates, that time frame that either made you or broke you. It was easy to sell a unwanted family member, especially a daughter no one batted an eye.

Two brothers one calm and thoughtful the other wild and reckless, A gentleman and a pirate who share a good part of their lives together.

The young female beautiful bright blue eyes sassy and unruly, sold to a beast of a man by her oh so loving father.

I loved the story I must have went through gasping oh my, fanning my face, my heart being ful and mind feeling sad. All of that in this story. The characters so full of life and personality they fit the story like a puzzle piece. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. Enjoy

Refreshing Change, Do NOT Miss

I thoroughly enjoyed reading deeper. It was a perfectly refreshing change between my modern day waiting because this is historical in nature and Sam Hunt really pulls it off. Even though it's not necessary, if you haven't read Deep, it is provided in this book starting at 69% and I would recommend reading it first. All the characters are fully developed and I don't really want to spoil the fun by describing them here. So just click and read and I'm sure you will find the same satisfaction I'm reading this tale.
