JAXSON
Let’s face it, being a star quarterback with killer looks means I can have any woman I want - and I’ve had plenty.
That’s what makes Sydney different. She wants nothing to do with me, but her body can’t hide the truth. She wants me. I just have to help her see the truth.
What started as simple desire and a friendly bet, turned out to be much more. Sydney may be the one woman I truly love - but can she handle a cocky man like me?

SYDNEY
It’s no surprise he doesn’t remember me. Back in high school, I wasn’t very popular, but that didn’t stop me from having a crush on the most popular guy in Mesquite - Jaxson James.
Now he's a star quarterback with a playboy reputation. He thinks coming back to his hometown to coach a high school football team will improve his image.
It just happens to be the same school where I teach.
I’m the only one in town who isn't celebrating his homecoming. I don’t feel the need to inflate his ego anymore than it already is - if that’s even possible. When we literally bump into each other, I’m reminded again of what a cocky bastard Jax really is.
And that's when I made a BIG mistake.
There’s more to Jax than what you see. He may have a big ego, but he also has a big heart and a big…well, you know...
And I like it.

Sports romance

What is it about a hunky quarterback that just makes you want to........
I like that Jax and Syd didn't have that physical connection when they first met. Things would have certainly ended up differently and they both knew it.
This was a cute & sexy sports romance. I really enjoyed Jax and Sydney's funny banter and crazy chemistry.

Cocky is an awesome book! Couldn't put it down!
It's about Jaxson and Sydney, a NFL quarterback and a high school teacher. They went to high school together and Sydney had a huge crush on Jax throughout. They almost got together at the end of senior year but life got in the way and Sydney ended up thinking Jax was a total jerk.
They meet again when Jax comes home to their small town to help coach the HS football team. They literally run into each other but Sydney gives Jax the cold shoulder and he is intrigued. Both working at the HS means they will see each other and Jax makes sure it happens.
The chemistry between these two is HOT HOT HOT!!! The storyline is terrific. The characters really come to life. First time I've read one of Jessica Marx's books and it certainly will not be the last one of her's that I read.

I loved it. I really like her stories. They are engaging and suck me right in. The grammar gets me at times but I overlook it because I like the plot lines.
