The two cats follow the time-honored premise of one being the fall guy, the dumb one, the stooge, and the other being the sharp one, the sarcastic observer. And, this works. Part of the reason it works is the quality of the expressions on the faces of the cats. And another part is that it sticks reasonably close to what we think might be going on in the cats' minds. I used to love Get Fuzzy, which follows a similar premise (in this case, dumb dog; smart cat), but it has strayed so far from cat and dog-like behaviors that it has lost some of its appeal for me.

Genre: Comic Strip Collection

I love the _Two Lumps_ on-line comic strip. This book consolidates all of the strips from the first year into one volume. It tickles my funny bone very much and I chortled through most of the plane trip I read it on :-) The protagonists are these two cats, one thinks he's smart and erudite, and the other is cute and dumb. Rather like my own two cats.

Anyone who has a pair of cats will recognize the antics of The Lumps. Mel Hynes and J. Grant have created a wonderful webcomic based around the lives of their real-life Russian Blue cats, and the result is pure comedy gold.
