Writing is my bliss and I try to write every day. I started with two publishers who I learned a lot from. Now I self publish. I like the control it gives me over release dates and book covers.
Poor Boy is back from school out east and is the deputy. He's still on the stage coming back when the Sheriff passes hashing two people. Poor Boy follows. When one of the two is shot the other gives up. Turns out it is a girl. Molly explains how her and her father were forced to rob the bank by another man. Now she is waiting for the judge to come back to town to hang her. As they spend time together they wish for a future together.
What a wonderful conclusion to an extraordinary series! Poor Boy captured my heart when he appeared in the 3rd book of the series, Shane's Bride, and I was eager to read his love story. He and Molly had so many road blocks to their happy ending, but Christmas miracles can happen. This story will stay with you long after the last page has been read.
Two great stories,, the author has treated us to a bonus short story, the Greatest Gift, the featured story, Poor Boy's Christmas, are both wonderful creations. The author has a way of putting the characters and story together, being a man I can't truly understand what it would be like to be unmarried and exspecting a child.
Well I just finished the series. What a great one. I could relax and enjoy my time with the characters without a lot of angst. There's so much of that in the world and when I read I want to relax and enjoy my time with the people I'm living with for a couple of hours. Thank you Ms. Ball for a pleasant time with this series.
Than you Kathleen Ball, I really enjoyed this series, Poor Boy and Molly had a rough start, but made it in the end. The greatest gift was really good story. I love to read your Books.
Was a great story , I enjoyed it. Was glad she stayed, the brother was a jerk. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us all. You are a wonderful author. I love your books. And I have read most all . Respectively Joyce Lichtwald
Both these stories kept you reading to see what would happen next. The first follows Poor Boy from previous books and left you catch up with previous couples. The second was a great Christmas story.
I read to the end because the plot intrigued me. If the author hadn't used profanity all through it, I would have given 5 stars. This story didn't need the profanity to make it realistic!!!
Poor Boy's Christmas is compelling reading. From the moment Molly is caught by Poor Boy, I was so caught up and loved the story. 2nd story also a good read.
Poor Boy and Molly I enjoyed reading this Intriguing story that is fantastically written with charismatic characters and witty dialogue. Their story has a wonderful HEA . Molly really deserves one!
Bonus story - The Greatest Gift Foster and Ginger I enjoyed reading this sweet story that is well written with lovable characters. He was so sweet and kind even with his doubts. The ending felt rushed but overall a great story with a good HEA !
Author Kathleen Ball is a very prolific author who can sweep you into romance, some pain, mystery, and always heart warming emotions. Poor Boy Hastings arrives home to Asherville, Texas, after spending his school years in New York City. He is now a deputy for Sheriff Shane O'Conner. He joins Shane in a horse chase after two bank robbers. One of the robbers is a beautiful woman, Molly McDonagh, and the other her father who is killed in the chase. Molly is in jail, waiting to be hanged. But Poor Boy is told by Shane to take her to a ranch and they can hide out as brother and sister until the judge returns to town. This is an intriguing story of another Christmas miracle. A real heart warmer. Highly recommend.
I enjoyed reading Poor Boy's book and him finally finding a HEA. Love his character and our heroine, Molly. I enjoyed reuniting again with the characters, from the previous books, always fun to catch up. When the story ended, I was pleasantly surprised to see there was an additional book to read, The Greatest Gift. This was a lovely little story and enjoyed it very much. JudyE
Seeing Po0r Boy grow up in this series allowed readers to see the love of members of a commuity and that love returned to others. This series of mail order brides for Texans has the whole gambit of characters you either love, or love to hate. The moral expectations contrast worlds apart from those of the 2000's and not always for the better. Some things, as family violence, haven't improved and it is difficult to see other values declining as well.
Life of Molly changers, when her family. Follow life as outlaws. All family members are killed, left alone taken to jail. Poor Boy a deputy, is asked by Marshll Shane to watch over the prisoner. Till he can bring back , the judge to town. Good ending surprise to both. Thinking it's a Christmas Party, the judge marry's Molly and Poor Boy.
Two great historical romances from the talented pen of Kathleen Ball. Two strong women who must prove themselves. Totally different stories both filled with excitement, suspense and Cowboy love.
