Do You Love Me?

Rate this book
I had one chance. One chance to tell the boy of my dreams that I love him, one chance to finally get the guy.

And I blew it.

I watched him leave. I watched as he went off to college to start a whole new life without me in it. A life filled with drinking, parties, and hot college girls. I suddenly became the pathetic young best friend, pining from afar, while he lived his life.

It took me a long time to get a second chance, and now that I have it, I wonder if I’ll finally have the guts to confess my love or if it will all go up in flames.

* 4 - 4.5 do you love me stars *

Do you love me? is first book in Trinity series and the first book I've read by Regina Bartley. I love good YA/NA contemporary novel and this definitely fits the category.

Paislee and Josh have been friends forever. They can't even remember the time when they weren't friends, but Lee's feelings have never been only friendly. Many times she wanted to say something, however, she got scared and kept hiding her feelings.
Now, Josh has gone to college and one semester after him she follows. Things are different and Lee can't hide anymore how she feels, so she tells him she loves him, loves him only to find out that Josh's feelings aren't quite the same. So, Lee decides to do something bold and starts dating Jude, quiet cowboy/musician.

"I don't doubt how you feel about him. Not one single bit. Only you know what your true feelings are. But if he is the only boy that you've ever loved, then I say keep looking. I don't mean that you should give up on how you feel or what you feel. I just mean that you should allow yourself the chance to see what else is out there... A lady I once knew told me that if it were meant to be, then it would be. Don't force feelings from someone, because it might backfire."

I won't go into details because this review will turn into one major spoiler. I really loved first 70% of the book. The characters, the plot, the emotions...

I loved to see this vulnerable girl that's in love with her best friend and I loved seeing them together, but I hated how Josh treated her and played with her feelings even after she admitted that she is in love with him. I wanted someone better for her, or some really big redemption on his part. Because of that I kind of frustrated me that author went a bit off the course and changed few things in last 30%. Even so, I couldn't put it down. It was one of those books you read in one breath.

The supporting characters were amazing. I can't wait to get stories for all of them, especially Letty and Fox. They are my favorite. We got to see glimpses of their pasts, and I'm really interested in what will author come up for them.

So, here I am, impatiently waiting for more. Don't mind me. (Lol)

Hi. I literally just went on here to say that I just wasted my whole night reading a book where both main characters ended up liking / falling for OTHER characters.

Okay I know that there isn't a rule saying that main characters should always fall for each other but the FRICKING BLURB?????

SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE WARNED ME. GOD I FEEL CHEATED.

OKAY BYE.

review to comeDo You Love Me? I really had no clue going into this book on what it would be about. I started reading it last night and was done within an hour. I was hooked and wanted to finish it! I need more of the story now! I not only fell in love with all the characters but I wanted to slap them too! Going into this, I thought it would be another best friend romance but there is an unexpected twist of confession could literally go up into flames! Read this story about Josh, Lee and the gang to find out what happens!

4,5 best-friends-are-one-of-my-favorite-stories-STARS
I‘ve read a lot of them already and „Do you love me“ was amazingly refreshing. A wonderful mix of a little heartbreak, great friendships and a few surprises ;)

Regina Bartely‘s fast paced writing always makes it easy to get lost in her books. With Paislee and Josh she once again created lovely characters I can‘t help but love ♡ (even if Josh really didn‘t make it easy sometimes ;) in the end all is forgiven)
Paislee is just such a sweet girl and so much fun :)

He was destined to be my one and only as soon as I worked up the nerve to tell him. It had only taken me nine years. That‘s not bad. Right?

I was lucky and won an arc, so I could read „Do you love me“ early and I‘m happy it is the first book in a new series...I already can‘t wait to meet sweet Paislee, Josh and the rest of the gang again in the next book.

I loved this book soo much. I received the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the story of two best friends who are looking for true love. Lee is a strong, fun and sweet girl who at times I wanted to smack some sense into her lol but she's nice. Josh is your typical hot guy but very likeable.

We see their friendship evolving and I really loved the turn in the story. I won't say much because I don't like spoilers, just that I love the new characters we meet throughout the developing of the story and I can't wait for book two to know what happens next.

What an introduction to this author for me!!!
I loved this book and was completely shocked and blown away by the writing an the twists I didn't see coming!

I love being introduced to new authors and being swept away by their words! This author was recommended to my by another author in her reader group and I just had to take the chance on any new to me author. This book is the beginning of a new series which meant that it would be perfect for me to jump into reading Ms. Bartley's books! I was a bit worrisome at first about this type of book; boy/girl best friend situation, and I wasn't sure I was going to be into the typical read. But let me assure you that this was nothing like the typical read at all!

I grew very attached to Paislee (Lee) and the way she was all consumed by her best friend Josh. I have been there and fallen for my best friend but it ended nothing like the was Paislee and Josh's story ended. I loved (ALMOST) every moment of this book. There are certain parts that I wished Josh was in front of me so I could throw my kindle at his man parts because he was being nothing like a best friend should be to Paislee.

You are introduced to several characters that I just adored and hope to see more of them in the future because Garrett was just a freakin hoot! And don't get me started on how much I just LOVED Letty, Paislee's roommate.

I adored everything in this book and even the not so nice parts because they made this story so much MORE than I thought this story could be, and I honestly don't mean any disrespect by that statement. The way this book was written just sucked me in and wouldn't let me go until I finished every moment! It may have taken me more than one day to finish but that didn't stop me from reading at work trying to finish while my boss wasn't looking! I have found a new author that I just know I am going to be fangirling over and stalking her as much as I can. Congratulations on the new release and I can't wait to dive into more of your books soon!

Sweet college story, what can I say, I found I could relate to the story in some ways, you know the boy, the one you just know you love, your buddy, your best friend for years.
It was well written, very sweet with all the angst one would see in late high school, early college year stories. Josh and Lee you will want to read their story If you enjoy NA coming of age books then this is the book for you.

This book follows Paislee and Josh who have been best friends forever. Paislee and Josh hang out all the time when they are home and even sleep in the same bed. Josh is a little bit older and leaves for college. Paislee is stuck at home for half a semester while she is pinning over Josh who she believes is living it up at school.

Pasilee has been in love with Josh for years and isn’t sure if he feels the same way. Pasilee also doesn’t know how to tell Josh her feelings. Pasilee seems very strong and independent in the book, but she depends on Josh a lot for social events. After what happens at a party with Josh I honestly don’t know what Pasilee is thinking and this drives me nuts while reading. I just wanted to shake some sense into her, but I love when you become so invested in a character that you want to yell at them.

Josh is an interesting character in the book. He does get his own chapters in which we get to see the sides of his feelings. Pasilee’s feelings are more present in the book, but we get Josh’s conflicted feelings as well.

The author did a great job with all the friendships in the book. The friendships that develop between Josh and his friends and Pasilee and Josh’s friends are great. The author took so many friends and characters and made me want to be friends with everyone. I also loved Paislee’s roommate Letty, she is a rock star in my mind in this book. I would have loved to read more about her and her life. She helps Paislee through a lot of rough events in her life.

Things I didn’t love about the book was the back and forth with Paislee debating how to tell Josh how she feels. I wish she would have gotten it over with earlier in the book because the end of the story is great. I love how everything turned out. I would have loved to read more about other relationships in the book versus her going back and forth.

The ending of the book is very interesting. I want to say amazing, but what happens to one of the characters is not great, but it does rally the spirit of the whole book and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I would suggest this as a nighttime read. It was easy to pick up this book and put it down while still maintaining what was going on during the book.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of this book.

This is the first book I have read of Regina Bartley. I really loved this book. When I started reading it, I couldn't stop.

Josh and Lee are two bet friends for years. We watch their friendship grow. As they move to college become interesting when more people enter their lives.

It is a beautifully written story that will leave you waiting for the next book.

I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. Its my first book by this author and the writing was ok, the storyline I am not quite sure about and was pretty disappointed. This review contains spoilers.

The blurb leads you to believe its about a girl, Paislee in love with her best friend Josh who is leaving for college and finally telling him but its not. Yes, she tells him but he rejects her and only wants to be friends but before you know that you have to read about him being with other girls. Its really about them realizing they do love each other but only like a brother and sister which is weird since you don't snuggle in bed with your brother when you are 18. The book ends on Paislee starting to date Jude who is much nicer than Josh. Looks like Josh will pursue Gwen, Fox's sister so you are really left with not much of a story at all in the end. This is book one of a series so I guess the rest of the book will follow in book 2 since this seems so incomplete.

Do You Love Me? is now my favorite book by Regina Bartley. I've been a fan for quite some time but she has really shined with this story about falling in love with your best friend.

I never knew a story could be so tender yet so powerful. Lee and Josh were so easy to like and their friendship was so strong. They handled their situation with their relationship better than most grown adults. This was one of those stories that I literally couldn't put it down until the very end. And even then, I couldn't wait to start the second book in the series.

Regina has blossomed into a wonderful author and this story just shows how much she values her characters. Without a doubt, you are going to absolutely love this book!

I liked this story it was cute. I finally got a book that doesn't say guys and girls can't be friend. I only didn't like two things. It just seemed like the book was a bit short like more should have happened in the book. Also it seemed the author stayed in the box didn't really venture out. I do want to read the next book to see what happens next

I won this book through a Facebook competition. This does not affect my review.

I liked the basic story. I just had some problems with the editing and how the story was written. It was also shorter than I was expecting.

Loved it!

I was about to give up on reading this book, why? Because I'm not a big fan of friendship turn into more type books. But I'm glad I didn't give up, this book had a plot twist, something that I didn't predict and that is the reason I have this book 5 stars.
Books have become so predictable and when you find gems like this book who don't follow the norms I really appreciate them.
I hope we get more of this characters, I want to read more about fox, letty, josh and fox sister, lee and Jude. And BEAR! I loved our bear!
Please keep writing this series!!

What I love about this story is how real it is. Not everything happens the way we want it to in life, and these characters proved that. I love the dynamics between Josh, Paislee, Jude, Fox, really all the characters. Here's a real life love story with twists and turns. This is the perfect beach-y read, that leaves with butterflies and wanting more. Loved this story.
