Cara Ward really doesn't like her job as a maid even if it was her mother's idea. Cara would rather concentrate on getting her degree. When Cara witnesses something that she shouldn't have puts her life in danger. Jacob White is looking forward to retirement from the mafia life but that hasn't happened yet. Jacob takes a job thinking it will be his last. But nothing about this job is going according to plan. Jacob meeting his target could never prepare him for the heart stopping feelings he has towards Cara. Can Jacob protect Cara? Will Jacob admit his feelings? Your answers await you in Get Dirty.
I'm really loving mafia driven romances lately. Each book is unique and compelling. The characters don't get lost in the story or fade into the background. Definitely keeping this author on my must reads list in the future.

Hitman romance ….3.5 stars!
Cara Ward suspects Adam Smith, her boss, makes his money in shady business. When she accidentally witnesses Mr. Smith murder a man, she is torn whether to hide and play like nothing has happened or run to the cops. She’s desperate to keep her job as maid to pay for her apartment and schooling, so Cara overlooks the crime, but eventually guilt forces her to confide with her mother. And her mom wants her to keep quiet about it. Besides, her mom was the one to get her the job.
Jacob White is hired by Smith to kill Cara as he doesn’t want any loose ends tied to the murder. But Cory Jordan, Smith’s second in command, counters the proposal to Jacob and they both kidnap Cara for her protection. Cory is convinced Cara and he can lead a life away from the mafia kingpin. Things don’t go as plan, and Jacob is left to protect her alone. As they spend time together, Cara and Jacob learn more about each other. The attraction is undeniable.
The plot takes a twist, and the one person important in her life she realizes has betrayed her. Jacob wants Cara in his life. I was not expecting the resolution to the story but it was a pleasant surprise. The plot was okay, but I wanted more of a connection between Jacob and Cara.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book. And I really enjoyed Cara & Jacob's story. Didn't really know what to expect with these two. But was very drawn to them both. Wonderful book.

This was an interesting and enjoyable read. I enjoyed the characters. The story isn't hardcore mafia and for the most part the story happens on the outskirt of the mob. Jacob was more of a freelance hitman for the mob and he takes one last job to kill Cara, but feels weird about it from the get go because she is innocent. He quickly gets a second offer to protect her and takes that one as well. Things get complicated quickly once he meets Cara. They are immediately attracted to each other but are in a weird situation and so are fairly determined to deny it...but things happen. There's some action and some romance in this story. It was a fairly quick and easy read for me. Events happen at a pretty steady pace but nothing is super fast with the action really. There's a couple of twists in the story that keep it interesting. The sex is explicit and there's a lot of sexual tension in the story. While I enjoyed the story, it didn't really blow me away or have me super attached to the characters. I have read other books by this author and really enjoyed them and the characters. I just didn't connect to this story on that level this time. I still enjoyed it and didn't have a problem finishing the book. I think for me it just didn't have quite the same believability to it even though the situation is not exactly realistic/believable.

Cara's always known that her boss isn't the best of guys, actually she's cleaned up some suspicious messes in her time, but after witnessing a murder, and confiding in her Mum, things start to happen, and when she's kidnapped, Cara starts to realize that her Mum maybe isn't as innocent as she thinks. Jacob is retiring from the Mafia, but when his old boss contacts him for one last hit, it's an offer he can't refuse. When Jacob's given a counter offer, he starts to think this could be a much better deal, except he's not allowed to touch no matter how much he really wants to. When they both decide to make a run for freedom together, the problems of the world fall away and they focus just on themselves, a perfect world. But soon reality is back, and Jacob hates who he is, so how could anyone else ever really love him.
This was a beautiful story, I loved how everyone had the chance to make that right conscious choice, that the final decision was theirs, right or wrong. Jacob had made some poor choices along his journey, but he'd made a conscious to right his wrongs, and it was one of the things that made him more endearing.

Cara cleans billionaire Adam Smith’s mansion to earn money for school. Cara working as a maid for a not so good man going to college to become a teacher, ends up in her in the wrong place in her employers home at the wrong time, now she's wanted, the same people who are told to get rid of her know her innocence Jacob who normally does the killing now must protect her from those who want her dead, and from those whom she thinks are her family,
She is supposed to be claimed by another, yet she doesn't love him, Jacob couldn't possibly develop feeling for some girl he just met right? This is foolish, this could never work…
This is a pretty fast paced Hitman for hire romance with a good plot twist, rounded out with a some sexiness and bit of hitman/mafia type action. My favorite character was Jacob, he had many sides to him. Cara was a bit all over the place but I suppose that happens when you are young naive and get kidnapped.. ( I may be getting a bit calloused after reading so many dark romances) at any rate the book peaked my interest from the start and kept me going till the very sweet ending. 4 Stars!

Not quite your typical Mafia story but it is definitely worth it to read, Sweet and Sexy!!!
Emma Springs writes such great characters, invigorating plots and some of the hottest men we all would love to have. Don't care if they are bad boys or not, lol.
To have a job that your mother insisted she take is one thing but to find out it has all led up to one heck of a lie is another. Cara's mom is definitely a mom I could hate also. You won't believe what she has hidden from Cara.
Jacob may be part of the Mafia and sent to possibly kill Cara for her witnessing her boss kill someone. Little does he realize that not all is what it seems and both he and Cara are being betrayed by the same person.
Grit, Action and Sexy fun, yep this is what this book holds.

Jacob is a Hitman wanting to leave the business and begin a new, more lawful life. But he receives a call that entices him to take just one last contract. He is supposed to eliminate Cara, a college student that happened to accidentally witness a murder. Jacob then receives a second contract to only kidnap her and keep her safe. This greatly complicates an otherwise simple job. But the lure of the money is hard to turn down. Cara has no desire to go with the owner of the second contract and the attraction between her and Jacob further stirs their emotions. While Cara and Jacob make stupid assumptions and decisions and the tale seems a hair simplistic, the plot is written well enough to lend credibility and interest to the story. This story is filled with a lot of action, with a few twists and turns. The Jacob and Cara have an amazing chemistry. I am looking forward to the next read from this author.

A lighter read than most Mafia books, I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Jacob and Cara are well rounded characters with developed back stories..neither of them has had an easy life.
Jacob is supposed to kill Cara (she saw something she shouldn't have done) but realises she is an innocent.
The plot moves at a fair pace as they begin to fall in love and attempt to outrun the two Mafia men who are after them.
There is violence, betrayal, and hot sex in the story but not excessively so.
To find out if they find their HEA you need to read the book!

This is an interesting and intriguing book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this book is: a housekeeper who witnesses a murder (Cara White), a freelance hitman/assassin (Jacob White), drama, suspense, intrigue, murder, drugs, mafia, crime, diamonds, betrayal, abduction, attractions, a mother's betrayal, shootings, money, plans, lust, emotional feelings, love, and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters are quite well developed with emotional feelings according to the situation they find themselves in. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a well written Bad Boy Mafia Romance with a HEA.

When Cara witnesses her mafia boss murder a man, she knows she has to be careful. Jacob is a hitman who is trying to leave the business behind and lead a lawful life, and is hired to eliminate Cara. When a secondary figure comes forward and wants to double the payment to keep Cara safe, they go into hiding.
This is a well written story, and with the suspense and twists I was kept intrigued throughout. I recommend Emma’s work for all readers.

Let me fan myself a little before I start. *whew* Emma Spring definitely knows how to write her bad boy romances. Get Dirty is exactly that, you'll love the dirtiness of this read. He's a hitman, she's the target. However, things change and he's not paid to protect her, but can he resist her or will her take her for his own? He's rough and it's exciting.

Got Dirty..but then....
The Book Was a tad Predictable.. But I AM GOING TO TELL YOU EVERY NOW AND THEN, I NEED ONE OF THESE BOOKS. A PREDICABLE PAGE TURNER, lite on the erotic. High on the LOVE METER..The story was still a great READ! IT had intrigue, romance, Okay so some was a little predictable..I get tired of "SURPRISE HE'S YOUR STEP BROTHER!!" (SPOILER ALERT!!) - IT JUST REALLY STARTS JUMPING AT THE END THERE...LOL

I enjoyed reading Jacob and Cara's story. They weren't suppose to be together, Jacob was hired to kill Cara but one look and he couldn't go through with it. With their life on the line they become closer together and fall for each other even more. Like the characters and storyline and always up for a great Mafia story

I received this book free for an honest review. Cara is struggling to pay for college and works for a dangerous man cleaning his house. She sees something she shouldn't and now her boss wants her dead. Jacob is hired to kill her and then things go sideways. Chemistry is off the charts. Strong characters and good storyline.

We need to define dirty. This book is written for early teens. Bad pass men do not blush, confess their lifestyle choices on stereotypical assumptions of a bad boy. Bad boy is right. As in a immature 14 year old.
The storyline is great. The characters need tweaking to give them more maturity.

November 10, 2016I read this book in a day it read fast and it was great. it was hot and full of whats going to happen now moments. i wont go into much details on the story only to say boy kidnaps girl for someone else boy falls in love with said girl and from there all hell breaks lose. read this story it is a stand alone with a HEA.

This wasn't a bad story but it just didn't grab more. The story was well written but the characters were just blah for me. Jacob just wasn't enough for me, he was a bit wishy washy for my tastes. Cara was a bit the same. The story line was good but was a bit rushed.

Get Dirty by Emma Spring is a steamy action packed mafia romance that has lots of twist and turns that hold your attention. This has a great story line and it really enjoyed the book. I highly recommend it.

It was an okay read. I liked the characters and the story just need a bit more dirt and needs to be a little less rushed.
