As a hobby, I spend my time attempting to photograph wildlife, I have a monthly subscription to Adobe Photoshop so always have the current edition. I shoot in RAW.
This wasn’t an easy book to source in the UK, but The Adobe Photoshop CC Classroom in a Book 2017 Release, was purchased from a store, as a Father’s Day gift for me.
Once you have the hard copy, you can go online and download a softcopy, and also a package of 15 Lessons.

Although some areas of Photoshop hold little interest for me (3D work for instance) I thoroughly enjoyed going through all the lessons and working my way through the book. For the most part, I found the lessons easy to follow, but on occasions went to the videos in the softcopy for clarification.
By necessity, this book does not go into every aspect of Photoshop in huge depth, it would be quite a few volumes if it did. However, it does touch on most of the capabilities of this very powerful program. I found the book informative and enjoyable, and although the lessons contain a lot I will forget, the book will be there for me to refer back to. The lessons tend to use Adobe Bridge; but to be honest, its superfluous and you can get by without it.
There were a couple of negative aspects; One had to do with the fonts in a couple of the lessons; the fonts used were not in my version of Photoshop; but it was easy enough to work around. Another was to do with creating a website for use on a phone, it assumes everyone has an iPhone! There are other phone systems out there Adobe! Finally, although this is not a problem with the book, the videos in the softcopy would not run on my iPad, I guess it’s a Flash issue!
One other thing, the Units used in the book are always either inches or pixels; even though I followed the instructions and reset defaults at the start of every lesson, my system always defaulted to centimetres, not a big problem, but thought I’d mention it. None of these minor niggles impacted on my enjoyment, I mention them for info only
Overall, I got a great deal from this book, really enjoyed learning more about Photoshop, got more comfortable with using it and have wetted my appetite for more; I highly recommend it.

I faciliated the digital textbook selection for The Art Institutes for years, and the Adobe Press Classroom in a Book texts were always the preffered text of all faculty across all campuses. Although I do not think textbis the best way to learn adobe.

As far as books go I do feel that they are the best texts on the market. The downside is that the editions update so frequently, so you have to re-read each year. I wish they would just include updates only. Lynda.com tutorials were also a great supplement.

I had a tremendous amount of fun going through this text book and learning how to use Photoshop to the fullest extent possible! The instructions were very clear with photos of what to do and how to do it for further clarity when needed. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is trying to teach themselves how to use Photoshop!

I went from a Photoshop know nothing to knows quite a bit with this easy-to-follow book. It contains many mini-lessons/activities with accompanying files which teach a multitude of skills and techniques. My two criticisms are that a few of the instructions are already out of date because of CC updates and I wish there was a detailed exercise on grayscaling and preparing files for print or web publication.

I've been using Photoshop for several years, but have fumbled my way through. This book was just what an old school kind of learner needed for understanding scores of finer details of the application. Having gone through each activity, I can see myself referring to this over and over. So much to learn and apply.

I finished most of it. It was for a class. Good training though my teacher taught me some tricks not in the book. I like the exercises.

This was just what I needed. I worked through two chapters each day, doing all the exercises. It was well worth it.
