Very very basic principles. Felt like I read a blog post.
Would've liked more intel on how Danish people do these things rather than general advice you can find in a simple search online.

“Hygge doesn’t have to be just for those cold winter months. it is a mindset that can be applied with great success all year-round.”

Hygge Habits: 42 Habits for a Happy Life through Danish Hygge that take Five Minutes or Less written by Helena Olsen is a delightful, little book. I love all things hygge and this gem is no exception. It’s filled with ideas, nuggets of inspiration, and great quotes. Olsen’s writing style is conversational and listening to her narrate the audiobook is like listening to a friend. The book is short and sweet. I’ll be returning to it for quick hits of inspiration. If you are new to the concept of hygge, or if you are well informed, this is a book you’ll want for your collection. You can read it cover to cover or you can dip in and out for a bit of insight.

“ Take life more slowly.“

This is a super quick read with basic simple reminders for how to get your hygge on. I've been reading about the hygge concept for a while so there wasn't much new but there were some good reminders about actions I put in place but didn't form into a habit. the Book offered good and gentle reminders. Nothing deep or earth shattering in this tiny tome.

Note to self.. once you supply yourself with candles and incense don't forget to light them! Get back to five minute exercise breaks and dog walks. Get back to yoga! If you dont like to nap during the day at least indulge in a rest with closed eyes!

We all need a little Hygge now more than ever. I plan to implement these suggestions because just reading about them had a calming effect on me. I may be watching the election results, but I’m staying peaceful wrapped in a fleece blanket, candles flickering, fireplace burning, pug snoring beside me, chai tea in my mug, and comfy pajamas on. Each page was a peaceful retreat, helping me to make my home into the refuge I want it to be.

I feel better already!

I am constantly striving to achieve the hygge lifestyle and philosophy..perhaps it's my Swedish heritage, or simply the desire to feel more relaxed and less stressed.. we are called Slackers for getting enough sleep and exercise, and not climbing that corporate ladder...radio became my career.. because I love it, and my weird co workers! Great Read!!

Hughes is a very comforting thing. It can be anything that melts your heart.

The way you set your schedule your lifestyle. It. Is your environment and how you keep your home. It is what makes you happy.

Simple, quick read. Not really any new or earth-shattering information, but if you’ve never heard of hygge before it’s a good intro. Could also be used as a guideline for a healthier, happier life in general. Quite a number of misplaced commas, which annoyed me but obviously didn’t ruin the book.

I suppose I shouldn't complain when a book about habits for a happy life doesn't provide any new ideas.

I have fallen in love with the concept of hygge, and this book is a guide for establishing some good hygge habits. I have found that I already do some of these things, but others are good ideas that I will be incorporating into my life.

I love this book. As I have been studying the Danish habit of Hygge I needed a more specific, but brief look at just what I could do to get into this healthy habit. This book provided that.

A lot of this were things I already knew so it was a good reminder. The editing was awful though. Some sentences were incomplete and there were extra words which didn't make sense.

Helpful tips about practicing hygge in daily life. Many are things I knew about but it was great to see them presented together and work through the book slowly, trying some of the ideas.

It points out small things that can be done in just a couple of minutes. You could spend more time or multiple things if you have more time. A quick read to help get you in a Hygge mindset.

A list of five-minute "habits" (activities, mostly) that help increase the hygge aspect of one's life. It was okay, but I felt like the list was enough, no need for the text detailing each item.

Short book but still too many suggestions! Feeling like an under-achieving mother, incapable of providing such an idyllic lifestyle for my kids... Pretty sure the author didn't want the reader to feel like this!!
