101 Things That Piss Me Off

"My old assisstent wrote a book. Preorder it cuz I fired her so now shes poor & I like doing charity 4 peple cuz I a good person" -Miranda Sings

Most people might not get angry at someone for going the speed limit. Or for liking coleslaw or cantaloupe. Or for someone not responding to a ridiculously hilarious text message. Or reality show recaps. But lucky for you, Rachel Ballinger is not most people. She will yell at people and inanimate objects. Why? Because that person or thing Pissed. Her. Off.

101 Things That Piss Me Off is a quick-witted and comical collection based on Rachel's hit Youtube series "You Know What Pisses Me Off," featuring never-before-heard rants, along with photographs and illustrations to help demonstrate. Using light-hearted anger, Rachel aims to show that being heated, passionate and expressive about things we care for is important. And fun.

BAHAHAHJKLAHAHKJAHAH. This book is pretty funny and it's a nice quick read. This book is so true and brings up some big problems that nobody's spoken about before. The only thing I don't like is the type of paper, it's too squeaky.

In the midst of this global pandemic, I really needed a lighthearted book that I could read to ease some of my stress and anxiety. 101 Things That Piss Me Off delivered!

Rachel Ballinger is a Youtuber that I watch. I bought this book to support her and get a taste of her quick-witted humor, but it sat on my shelf for a while. While COVID-19 rages on, it seemed like a fitting time to read this book and have a few very much needed laughs.

In this book, Rachel Ballinger uses her satirical humor to pinpoint and expose everyday truths, ironies, and annoyances of the modern world. She offers 101 things that piss her off, as the title suggests. While the concept may seem silly, the 101 things are relatable and encourage readers to ponder about the small pet peeves of their own lives.
Some of the things that piss both Rachel Ballinger and I off are:
- When people type haha or lol- I hate this soooo much. My overthinking mind cannot interpret these for the life of me. Like are they really laughing?! Are they simply typing it because they just texted an ugly truth and they are trying to cover it up?! The awkwardness! Actually all abbreviations. Like “sry” and “wbu”- if you care enough about me, type the whole sentence!
- poop splash- yeah.... enough said.
- pockets on girl jeans- Right?! How are girls supposed to fit anything into such tiny pockets? Gosh!
- When people look over your soldier at your device screen- COME ON! Respect my personal space and business!

Some of these are real knee slappers! 🙈🤣 While these things may be silly, they foster thinking about the things in life that we do have to be grateful for. As I was reading this book, I was able to recognize how lucky I am that these are the things that make me mad. Of course, there are other, more serious things in my life that are difficult, but this book was a nice reminder that I am lucky to have these annoyances in a world, where so many atrocities happen every single day. Especially right now, in the middle of this pandemic.

In addition to these trivial grievances, Ballinger delves into deeper issues of society. She talks about Childhood Cancer, the phrase “Not Adam and Steve,” sexist people, drunk drivers, and societal expectations. The insight that Ballinger offers into these issues is refreshing and honest. She writes that women AND men can be sexist because stereotypes can held by all genders. Ballinger discusses the horror of losing a loved one because of a drunk driver and the cruelties of childhood cancer. I appreciate the light that Ballinger shines on these issues. The ratio of trivial vs. serious issues is perfect and the interlacing of these two types of things that piss her off make a wonderful book.

While this book may appear to be only silly, I encourage everyone to read it. It offers a good laugh while provoking deep thoughts, sympathy, and gratefulness.

I truly enjoyed this book. It “pisses me off” that I finished it already.

This is a nice, quick, and humorous read that highlights what ticks Rachel Ballinger off to the point of no return. I may not agree with some of her opinions, but the way she phrases herself and imagining her talking about this in video made the chuckles start rolling in. Overall, this was a good book.

Do you want to know what pisses Rachel Ballinger off? Here are 101 things, presented in book form. Though not as engaging as her videos, 101 Things That Piss Me Off is a quick read that provides a good bunch of entertainment.

Okay, so I am a huuuuge fan of YouTube and Rachel is one of my favorite content creators, I really love her "You know what pisses me off!" rants. They always make me laugh and sometimes even make me want to grab my torch and pitchfork and exclaim my hatred for the exact same things. I knew I had to have this book from the moment it was announced. As you might have seen from one of my previous updates, I was a little disappointed that there weren't really any stories to go along with the list items or things that piss Rachel off, but near the middle of the book I realized how absolutely long the book would be if Rachel had written a true story to go along with 101 listed items. I enjoyed the book for what it is, literally a list of 101 things that piss Rachel off. I would recommend this book to fans of Rachel's YouTube channel, but I don't think I would recommend it to anyone unfamiliar with her content. There were times in the book when I laughed out loud at Rachel's insights and drawings, so I give the book 4 stars. It will tide me over until one of the Ballinger's finally writes a whole book about their crazy experiences through their journeys to YouTube (and Netflix) fame.

This was near the checkout desk at the library so I picked it up to take a peek. And then I checked it out because it was short and would help me with my reading challenge :) It was okay. Some parts were funny, some parts were complain-y, and some just seemed to be there to take up space. It's a super quick and easy read, so there's that..

This was a cute little book that had rants, some I related to, some I thought other people didn't hate as much as I do, and some that were first world problems that I didn't see how it could piss someone off.

Also shout out to this book empathizing my thoughts on soup!

Eh. Definitely related to many of her complaints but some just sounded whiny. Honestly, I chose it because it’s a quick easy read to help me get a head start on my reading challenge 😉

I read this book as quickly as possible to put it behind me... This book should be called “Obvious Annoyances”. This is not a witty list. This is basic bullshit. Now I’m irritated.

This book is a super quick read. It took me less than an hour to get through.
I love Rachel's 'Things That Piss Me Off' rants on her YouTube channel, and this book was just a 101 of those written out and put together into one book instead of in a short, 3-minute video for each individual one.
This book will probably only appeal to you if you are a fan of Rachel's, or at least it will appeal more to you than if you weren't a fan of hers.
A couple of these seemed like they were kind of just there to fill up space as she needed 101 of them, but this didn't apply to very many. Most of them were just funny. A couple did sound a little like she was just complaining about it, but the book is called 101 Things That Piss Me Off, what did you expect?
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It's a short read, but it's also a funny read, too.

Quick, fun read... but not something that I would go back and read again. If it wasn't a book by Rachel (or if I didn't know who Rachel is), I think this would be one of those coffee table books that people can just flip through quickly to get a quick laugh. I'm a fan of her YouTube channel, and I could hear her voice through most of the book. As it kind of went on, however, I felt like the latter part of the book didn't have as much oomph as the beginning did. Like she was just trying to come up with different things to fill the book.

Really enjoyed reading 101 things that piss me off. A lot of them are very relatable. She also adds fun little drawing and pictures to her reasons and splits the book into sections. Very easy to read as well - Simple and to the point. Only thing I will say is towards the end of the book it seemed a little rushed but I can understand with the amount of work she does on Youtube. Apart from the rushed ending I still really enjoyed it. Five stars for Rachel!

Even though I didn't necessarily agree with every thing she said, this book was hilarious! I read it in an hour at midnight, so that should say something. The way she worded things had me laughing out loud. (And I had no idea she was youtuber until I finished this book, which is strange because I practically live on youtube. Well, I guess that's the algorithm for ya'.)

If you're a fan of Rachel's YouTube content you will for sure enjoy this book, you can just hear her voice in your head ranting on every page, it's just like her videos but in paper form, loved it, and it's a quick read you can get through in an hour or so.

Whether you love her or have never heard of her, you’ll find something to agree with Rachel about in this not-too lengthy gem of a book. I hope Rachel writes a sequel to this. As a longtime subscriber for years as a kid I really enjoyed Rachel’s “you know what pisses me off” videos, if you’re new I recommend them.

I listened to a Youtuber read and review this because I wasn't about to read it myself and waste my money. It was a good thing, too, because this very short book wouldn't have been worth it. It's mediocre, bland, not witty (whiny more like it). Very obviously, she put no effort into it.

Some of the things that piss her off seemed like page fillers. Others were funny and relatable. And a few just sounded like bitching.

Just perfect. I want her to write a part 2. She touched on some really important topics and I bet she has a whole lot more to touch on.

A fast and funny read. Although I disagree with some of the things that piss her off, that's what makes discussions in the world.

It was kind of relateable, kind of funny, kind of childish, and at some points kind of boring.
