I'm an author who writes romance. I have a few other projects in the works. I love to read or listen to books on tape (digital downloads now ;)) It makes my day when a book can make me feel the story along with the characters as well as bring a smile to my face.
I will read any type of fiction but mostly romance. I love to draw inspiration from everything in my every day life. When you have a bad day sitting down and writing a joyous event makes it better.

3.5 Getting Better Stars!

eARC for Honest Review Courtesy of Inkwater Press

I will admit that Wanting You the first book was not my fave but the damn cliffhanger kept me holding on. So, when I got the opportunity to review I jumped on it dying to find out what happened with Charlie and Wyatt.  I'm so happy that I gave this series a second chance because this book was leaps and bounds better than the first book.  It kept me captivated and was less predictable.

This was about how Charlie recovers from her traumatic event with her ex Tony.   Charlie is having a hard time moving forward and is lashing out and pushing everyone away.  Almost all of her friends understand this but poor Wyatt has some personal demons which cause him not to see what is actually going on.  Instead he goes back to his player ways to deal with his emotions.

For Charlie, since Wyatt is moving on, she also does with Ian.?

I was so frustrated with Wyatt and Charlie's choices.  In this part of the book it was the part that made me pretty mad with how Charlie and Wyatt reacted but the clincher was that it was like only a week after the 'event' and then all of a sudden they are both moving on.

But this book was not only about Charlie and Wyatt it was also about Riley and Miles (whom I adored), Scott & Darius and the rest of the gang.   As Charlie and Wyatt muddle through their relationship trying to fix what is broken, many other layers are being created with Ian whom has some secrets and the unknown issues with Olivia.

I felt this book was much better
written than the first. The dialogue felt more natural and not as
forced and there was more substance than Wyatt and Charlie just having
sex all the time.   We were almost left with a HEA then Becca Siller decided to play with our emotions again leaving another open ended ending sucking us in to find out all the answers in the next book but I don't have a hot clue about the future of book 3 and there are no answers on Goodreads ;(.  Fingers crossed that the next book will be out sooner than later so we can find out if Charlie and Wyatt get there HEA.

Short synopsis:
We pick up with the story of Charlie and Wyatt right at the height of Charlie dealing with the trauma of being kidnapped and tortured by her ex-boyfriend Tony.

Yeah, can we just take a minute and highlight the disgust I felt while reading about the horrifying things that Tony did to Charlie to prove that she was 'his'?

Beaten, rapped, burned, and so much more....

Physically and emotionally damaged, and confused with how to move forward, Charlie struggles to piece together her life. It was only a few short days ago that she and her best friend Riley had found the men of their dreams–Wyatt and Miles–and were living blissfully in their own happily ever after.

Now that she's safe and back with her family and Wyatt, Miles, Scott, and Darius, she's having to deal with the reality of life after Tony, after being abducted and tortured. Unfortunately the effects of her abuse have Charlie pushing away those closest to her, and trying to carry the weight of everything by herself.

When she pushes too hard–asking Wyatt for space to recover–Wyatt's heart is crushed with not being needed or wanted. Devastated and confused, he leaves to go back to Scotland to finish shooting his film, and she's left hurt and hating the rash decisions that she's making.

As time passes both Wyatt and Charlie seek the company of others in an attempt to heal their broken hearts and shattered relationship. Despite the love they still feel for one another all the heart ache, lies (by omission), betrayal, misunderstandings, and jealousy have their fragile relationship on the rocks.

We can only hope that they will find a way through the haze of hurt and pain and back into each others' arms.

The Best Thing: by Deidré D.
While I felt exhausted at times with the wishy-washy POV of Riley and Charlie in regards to Charlie's relationship with Wyatt, and found myself thinking some of the POVs were a little unnecessary; I think the overall story was good. Needing You is full of dramatics; full of love and pain and misunderstandings from all angles. You've got characters that are struggling with their troubled pasts, upset over missed opportunities, and sulking over the bad decisions they've made, searching for love in all the wrong places, and enough of denial to fill a room. Everyone seems to have an opinion about everything, even others' personal relationships which adds more confusion and gasoline to the fire.

But somehow there is still time to slip in all the heat between Miles and Riley, Wyatt and Charlie, Charlie and Ian (which may have sizzled), and even some of the other characters.

The overall impression I got from this book was the need to have family and friends that love you and look out for you no matter what. All of the characters have a pretty interesting background that explains why they have all gravitated to one another, which makes for a good storyline.

There is no lack of expression in this story. If you are looking for a book to read that will have your emotions all over the place then this is it! You may find yourself crying with Riley one moment and angry, confused, and horny with Wyatt in the next. Either way, there's definitely an emotion you can attached yourself to and someone's side you will agree with.

The Worst Thing: by Liz B.
As always, there's the dreaded task of one of us taking the "worst thing" and this time around it's my turn. So, although I thought there were some good things about the book, I did find myself irritated with a few things.
 photo when-someone-asks-what-you-want-for-your-birthday_zpsb777ee56.gif
First, the writing, especially when it came to dialogue and inner monologues (which we get a lot of because of the three-way split in POV) was WAY too stilted and clinical. People don't talk to each other like every conversation is a therapy session and that's definitely the feeling that I got.
 photo large_zps8ec23445.gif
I also felt that the characters were extremely inconsistent. For example, Wyatt is fawning over Charlie while she's in the hospital and is super worried about her, all while loving her like no other person he's encountered in his life. Then, literally less than 24 hours later, he's walking out and hating her for what she's done to him. Which - let's be clear - is really NOTHING. She is fresh off of an insanely traumatic kidnapping during which time she was tortured and raped repeatedly and she requests a little time to get herself together. Not ever saying that she wants to break up. Wyatt overreacts and that's the basis for this entire story? Pretty weak place to start.
 photo hatter2_zpsda5c2599.gif
Then, their friends are hot and cold and all over the damn place! Riley, do you want Charlie to be with Wyatt or not? Skylar, Scott, Darius - aren't you supposed to be Wyatt's friends, too? How come you all side with Charlie without even asking Wyatt for an explanation or trying to understand his side of things? The only real advice anyone gives her after her kidnapping is to start dating someone else - the charming detective Ian. But wait, wasn't the whole point of asking for space so that she could be on her own and figure out who she is again?
 photo 7138199_zps4a30e923.gif
Because not only has she just been kidnapped, but now the serious relationship with the love of her life has crumbled...perfect time to get back out there?
 photo week-in-review-darren-criss-gifs-confused_zpsd7c488cc.gif
NO. That made zero sense to me.
 photo 734661_zps8b6c3c6a.gif
Plus, and this is a small thing, but one that bothered me - why did we have so many random encounters with side characters?
 photo 688888_zps2f020a74.gif
It felt like the author was trying to paint a fuller picture of the people in Charlie and Wyatt's world, but it got out of control. Why do we need to know about who Skylar is dating - especially if none of that even goes anywhere. Why does Darius' daughter show up randomly? And are two different therapists really needed in this book?
 photo 1_gif_zps7de7c98f.gif
Also, what is up with Ian? I feel like he really got a raw deal. Plus, I was annoyed at how his character was written because he was one of the most consistent ones throughout the book. He seemed kind and calm - a guy who's a little older and more mature and who's been through some hurt in his own life so he gets Charlie. Then, toward the end, he just totally flips and his actions didn't line up with who he'd been throughout the rest of the book! And I don't even blame him for being pissed about the whole Charlie situation - because she treated him like crap the entire book and then expected him to be okay with it!

Phew. Okay. That was a lot. I agree with, D, though that the familiar atmosphere between this group of friends was really cool and served as a great baseline for the story. I just wish that the characters had been a bit more solid in terms of consistency of their actions and that the story had flowed better overall.

***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

Needing you is the second book of the Broken Road Series from Becca Siller, and we get to see how Charlie and Wyatt are dealing with aftermath the terrifying events that happens to Charlie at the end of book one “Wanting You”

I like the storyline line; and like before a lot happens but it does have its fair share of drama, love, and heartache, misunderstand, miscommunication, jealousy and humour. I did feel for Charlie as I started to learn the physically and emotional pain she had been through at the hands of her ex boyfriend Tony she is struggling to move forward with her life.

I liked Charlie and Wyatt, and despite the fact that they had a funny way of showing at time especially Wyatt. I could certainly see how much needed each other. I found them both frustrating at times as they had very different ways of dealing with what had happen, and so yes I wanted to bangs their heads together, and shouted talk people Talk! Simply because of the choices, and decisions that they were making.

The story is told from Charlie, Wyatt and Charlie's best friend Riley's POV, and at times I found their dialogues and inner dialogues were a bit too long for my tastes. I don't mind multiple POV if it works, however I felt that only Wyatt and Charlie's POV was needed.
Don't get me wrong I like Riley, but I don't think that hers added to Charlie & Wyatt’s story if anything it made it more confusing at times. I could see Riley had a story to tell, and I think it would have been better if she were given her own book to deal with what was going on in her life and her relationship with sweet, sexy and hot Miles.

The liked the secondary characters they were fun, interesting, and loved that they were a tight bunch though at times their presence was too much, and some scenes felt a little busy, I can’t denial the strong friendship they all had for each other, and we all need friends like that.

Overall despite the few things that didn’t work for me I did enjoy the basic of this book, and towards the end I liked the way things were working out for Charlie and Wyatt, but I will say after reading the epilogue which really set the scene for the next book I do feel for Charlie as its obvious her suffering may not be over. I like to think Becca is not going to leave me waiting too long for Book 3.

If you enjoyed the first one then you will enjoy this one.

‘Listen and hear me, Charlie. You are and always have been the woman I fell in love with. I’ve told you in every way I can that there is nothing that will make me not love you”.

“I know in my heart I will never stop loving him”

“I need you too. God, Charlie, I can’t breath around you but I can’t breathe with out you”

Needing You was full of pain and love, with many misunderstandings. The relationship of Wyatt and Charlotte Lynn (Same as my name) was difficult. They caused each other much pain due to lack of communication or only hearing what they wanted to hear, yet you could feel the love and the heat between them. I struggled with knowing whether to cheer for them or wish they would part from each other and move on. There were times that I felt Wyatt was harming Charlie, not physically but mentally. Charlie was working at recovering from her kidnapping, while Wyatt couldn’t really understand all of what she went through and show her the support she really needed. Overall, I love Charlie and Wyatt’s relationship and hope that they will find their happily ever after together.

Riley and Miles is a fun relationship. Although, it seemed that sometimes they worried more about everyone else’s problems then each other. Riley is the character that always has to be in control of her life and everyone else’s around her. When things are good for her friends she cheers them on, but is quick to change her opinion when things are not so good. I did enjoy that she was a true friend. Never did she speak bad of Charlie nor not have her back. I am anxious to find out about the threats that have been coming to her at work and am sure that the drama and intrigue will fly in the next book concerning those.

I read Wanting You and was happy to be asked to read Needing You. The next book in this series cannot be available soon enough. Becca Siller knows how to keep her reader intrigued and glued to the pages.

ok so I ordered this book right after I finished the first one in this series and I received it today. I started reading it around three o'clock and I just finished it at seven-thirty.I was so excited to see where Charlies and Wyatts story was going. I enjoyed the direction the author took with this second book, I wish there had been more interaction between charlie and wyatt though. I am.excited to see if Ms. Siller will continue on with series.
