Living Well: God's Wisdom from the Book of Proverbs

Rate this book
Wise proverbs stick with us and help us navigate life.

Our financial decisions might be guided by "a penny saved is a penny earned," or we might remember not to be lazy from "the early bird catches the worm."

God has given us a book filled with such memorable wisdom--the Old Testament book of Proverbs. In Living Well , you'll look at a different topic in each chapter and learn how Proverbs can guide us to live wiser, more God-honoring lives. Whether in our finances or our relationships, our approach to work or play, following the way of wisdom is often countercultural, but always best. Living Well gives us the blueprint for such a life--starting with God's own wisdom from the book of Proverbs.

This book takes large themes from the collective wisdom of the Proverbs and complies them in chapters by topic such as money, Gods wisdom for men/women etc. there were chapters I really liked. What I didn't like is the author was constantly saying such things as, "I once heard a story", and "Someone once told me." It got really annoying. I much prefer to hear anecdotes with sources either cited or a reference given. You simply cannot trust "I heard once." It made the writing on a true subject feel kind of cheap to me.

A real gem of a book on Proverbs, which I received for being a Truth for Life partner.

It is a short read, but don’t mistake its brevity for lack of quality. Instead, Moseley has deftly used all his words in compact fashion to bring across his points forcefully. Why is he able to do that? Because he has almost imbibed the wisdom of Proverbs into himself, before he shares his perspectives.

I warmly commend this book to anyone who wants to better understand the wisdom of Proverbs, and how this should be applied to our lives.

Apart from being a fantastic book on Proverbs, categorised into extremely helpful themes, Mosley draws on the rest of the Bible and quotes apt verses to bring Proverbs to life and make total sense. Praise God for his ministry and this book.

This is an amazing step by step guide through proverbs over-arching themes. It is a book that can be referenced too when you have questions. It is deep in its meaning and straightforward in its application. The first book in awhile I made notes in and highlighted in for future reference.
