Obviously, I have a biased opinion since I wrote it. But what I'm most proud of is the accomplishment of finishing a story that has been part of my creative mind for a long time. I'm proud of the process of crafting a story. Its been fun. I hope and believe that anything I write hereafter will be better. Ava's story is a fun sci-fi mystery with a dystopian flare that has a clean romantic sub-plot. I believe it's a great addition to the young adult genre and I hope anyone who reads it will find value in it.

Yes I know, it's really embarrassing that the author's own daughter wasn't one of the first people to read her book. *Face slap* But I would just like to say how extremely proud of my mom I am. I can now officially say my mom is a published author. This has been my mom's dream for a long time and it makes me so happy to see her achieve her goals. I really liked this book. I was personally surprised. I knew my mom was a good writer having personally read other things of hers, but I really enjoyed her writing in this book. Yes there were cute and corny little romantic things but that's what made this book so fun. Again I'm so proud of my mom and I would definitely recommend reading this book, writing a review on GoodReads, and THEN head over to Amazon and leave a review for this book. :)

Honestly really enjoyed this book up to the last 20 pages. Its plot intrigued me and while i feel it could have been built a little deeper, I over all absolutely loved it. The end, however, was slightly anticlimactic and left me wishing for a more complex and exciting climax and resolution. Being from Las Cruces myself (the stories main setting) I absolutely LOVED reading about every place the characters went and explored! Absolutely a wonderful representation of my home town!

Ava Tanner is a typical high school girl who is suddenly uprooted when her family moves across country. One of the first people she meets at her new school in Las Cruces, New Mexico, is the handsome Grant. Along with her instant attraction to Grant, Ava starts seeing a strange message everywhere she looks. Is she going crazy or are these messages real?

I enjoy books and movies about time travel and since I live in New Mexico, I definitely had to read this book! The book is well-written and the characters are well-developed and likeable. My only complaint about the book is the typical one I have about time travel stories: it's really hard to keep track of what time is being discussed and there are some inconsistencies between the timelines.

Since this book was set in New Mexico, I like the author's introduction of alien abduction into the story. It's always interesting to get new insights into the possibility that we aren't the only ones in our Universe!

I enjoyed the book and will look for more by this author. Thanks, Ms. Taylor, for introducing me to Ava's adventure!

This book really left me thinking. There are so many twists and unpredictabilities in the story that when I finished it, I had to sit and replay certain parts in my mind to make sure I understood what had happened. I love it when a book surprises you and makes you think like that. I am not a huge sci-fi fan and the time travel element was hard for me, but that being said- I was completely sucked into the story and I loved the characters. The author did a great job creating endearing characters and a family dynamic that felt very genuine. There were a few passages that were a little awkward to read, but they did not interfere with the telling of the story. On the other hand, there were some great metaphors and passages that had me laughing or smiling to myself. This is an entertaining and thought provoking book. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and easy read. I think this author shows great potential and I'm excited to see what she comes up with next.

Time travel

I enjoy time travel, for me this left too many unanswered questions and some unbelievable parts. Who would ever belie that you sell time travel to someone and he won't tell anyone else. A Hugh school senior is supposed to manage a retirement home? What about the missing brother, or aged girls? What about their babies? Why wouldn't they give the assistant back her memories? Why did they let both Richard and his wife go. Time travel, mental telepathy to easy and convenient, why are they the only people still capable. What about stopping the abductions. Too much unresolved for my tastes.

Not your mama's (or hubby's) boring time travel

I am typically categorically uninterested in time travel/sci-fi stories; their plots are usually unoriginal and overdone. Enter Twists in Time. The plot is fresh and new, intricate, yet easy to understand. It moves along at a satisfying pace and keeps you cheering that Ava and her friends will succeed. Well done, Angie Taylor! Can't wait to see what comes next.

The best feeling in the whole entire world is when you pick up an underrated book and it delivers.
'Twists in Time' was a unique and cosy book and I enjoyed my time reading it.

I loved the cast of characters. I could truly feel the characters' personalities jump off the pages, which made it easy to distinguish one from another (Grant had this tendency to wink a little too much for my taste though). I loved Spencer's calm nature. Not to speak of Thomas and Verla! They were perfect.

This story had many plotholes though. The time-travelling aspect could have been explained better. I recognise that any time-travel-related trope is always complex and has many layers to it, but that's exactly why I wished I had been given more boundaries within which I needed to stay. The author definitely did add to the trope, but she didn't fully lay out all of the rules and questions definitely popped up in my mind as I kept on reading.

Also, there were some time jumps, in the sense that I would be reading about a particular scene and, once it was over, the next line would say that 'X' time has passed. Some vague description of what happened in that time-lapse would be given and then the story would take off from there. I didn't mind this much, but I did mind how Ava's relationship with a certain someone hadn't changed much in those time jumps. It felt like the author wanted to space out the events, but she wanted to keep the romance on-page and so she 'paused' it during those time jumps. I wasn't rooting for the romance anyway because, from the get-go, it didn't feel fluid and it was a constant romantic tension whenever the two characters were together (it was too much for me). I almost wished she accelerated their romance so I didn't have to experience it in real-time (not that it would have changed my opinion of it though).

By the end of the book, I had this desire to have more interactions between Spencer's siblings. These kids have lived their whole life together, but they didn't interact as though they did. Their number was special to me. I grew up with my sister and my three cousins; we all are so different (I am the only one that loves to read in the group *sad face*). We have this messy tangled bond; in between us, we have pairs that work well together and pairs that always bicker the most. Despite our differences, we always fit in with each other though, like pieces in a puzzle. Even now! that we are so grown up and physically apart. Ask me which one is my favourite and I wouldn't be able to tell you. I call them cousins, but they feel more like brothers to me. My sister once said: "God made us cousins because our mothers wouldn't have been able to handle all five of us". What I mean to say is that, if this book had shown me a fraction of what I share with those four lovely idiots in the form of the siblings in this book, this story would have been an all-time favourite of mine. I would have forgiven this story all its flaws and inconsistencies. This is the closest I have come to finding five siblings, and I need to keep looking elsewhere for more, unfortunately.

As the last point, I want to say that the climax to the ending was awesome. I truly felt fear for Ava!
The story felt a little unfinished by the end because, although they achieve what they set out to achieve, the book didn't elaborate on how their mission helped afterwards.

As a wrap-up, I think I needed this book to be longer.

Please, everybody, don't look at my rating and automatically dismiss this book as mediocre. This story stands apart from all the others I have read because of its cool sci-fi elements. Yes, time-travelling is everywhere but just read the book to find out why some characters used it. This book is worth it, despite all of the negative points I brought up. It deserves attention.

Fascinating!

The premise of this book was quite intriguing! Time travel is such a tricky subject to tackle. I’d love to explore the author’s version a bit more thoroughly than she covers in this novel.

This book had a great cast of characters! So many personality traits revealed for each. I would like to have gotten to know some of the side characters better, like Ava’s sister, Cat, and Grant’s siblings. I feel like there was more potential there to fill them out. I hope there is more written about them in the further books (pretty please!)

I would also like to see a bit more of the villains. Most of the story is focused on the dilemma of Grant’s family that the little bits of story focused on the main villains seemed a bit rushed.

That said, I loved the story itself. I’m fascinated by the future technology the writer invented for this story, and how the characters make use of it.

Ava, the main character, is pretty well fleshed out. Grant, the male lead is someone I want to know more about. I hope there will be more books featuring these two getting to know each other better!

Ava is in a new town. She doesn't get a chance to settle in before she is bombarded with telepathy and time travel. This book was paced perfectly to keep me wanting to know more. I liked Ava. She was flawed, which I love in a main character. She was so quick to believe and act on things she didn't fully understand. I loved the residents in the retirement home. I felt that they were better developed than some of the other characters. However this book had so many character that there wouldn't be enough time to explore all the characters and keep the interest of the reader. I think the author choose well to focus on certain characters to keep the pace on track.

I listened to this book on audio. The narrator was perfect. I would recommend this book to readers who love ya sci-fi and or ya time travel. It was a very entertaining book and was easy to get lost in.

Twists in Time was a sweet take on a time travel story with lots learned about time travel but not a whole heap of actual time travel. There were a few storylines which to start with seemed unrelated, but it didn't take long for them to weave together. The book alternted points of view from the main characters of Ava, Grant, Richard and a lesser character Alesia. I really enjoyed the different points of view.

A couple of twists in the story that just blew me away. I had to sit and think about them before moving on! There was plenty of action and I sure hope there is a sequal...I have some unaswered questions.

I enjoyed playing a small part in reading this story before Angie Taylor had it fully published. I think she greatly improved the story and I loved the spot-on portrayal of Las Cruces and the surrounding areas. She described the Organ Mountains perfectly and exactly as I remember them. I was very intrigued by the story of Ava. I liked the love stories. There were a few grammatical errors and the ending could use some more strength (more climax), but overall so very proud of my friend and her accomplishment getting a super cool story published!

Twist in time was confusing, jumpy (meant to be I think), and yet intriguing all in one story. I enjoyed the cleverness and uniqueness. All the jumble and jumping was confusing, however it all kind of came together in the end which was nice. When I was not confused and lost is was into the story itself, which, like I said was really good.

Great story

I loved the main character Ava, she was very relatable. This story starts when she moves across country with her family like I did last year. She meets these interesting people that take her on an adventure. Very quick moving with different perspectives woven throughout.

Maybe if I were a teenager I would have enjoyed this book better. While the story was creative it just didn’t have that spark to make it good. It’s easy to read and the characters were there but I found it hard to really get into the plot. Secrets that never really became known leave me still wondering what was the point?

Twists In Timw

A clean easy to read book. With that said, the ending felt rushed. And there were a few things that felt squished in like mind taking. I think the time travel was enough to make this story. I think with a bit more work this could be a fantastic story instead of just okay. For now it is a quick easy read.

This is a fantastic YA story with interesting twists (pun intended)! Genealogy was always a big part of my childhood so having an action adventure tale with this as a focal point was creatively unique and fun. The writing quality is first class with a captivating flow and, thankfully, there is no filler material to be found. Overall it's a great story for readers pre-teen and up.

Great book!

This book catches you on the first page and then you are carried along trying to read as fast as you can! It has mystery, romance, medical thriller and time travel all wrapped up into one amazing read! The characters are marvelously fleshed out and you feel like you are always right there with Ava and Grant, experiencing everything you are. This book has only very mild violence, no foul language and no sexual content aside from your own imagination. It is lusted, I believe, as a young adult novel and it definitely is, but I'm a much older adult and I thought it was wonderful! I highly recommend this book!

Aside from instantly falling in love with the time travel aspect, the story line is absorbing and entertaining right from the beginning. The characters are engrossing, relatable and leads you to want more. This book has so many different story lines to continue from and I am excited to see what is next.
