This is a Romantic Suspense/Mystery. I loved the mystery, action, and suspense in this book. The characters were so great, and I loved trying to figure out which characters were the bad ones. The setting worked so well with the suspense/mystery storyline. I do feel the romance was really in the background, so you should not pick this book up looking for a romance. I really loved reading this book, and I could not put this book down.
Action, adventure, intrigue and the sizzle of romance! And there's plenty of fodder for the armchair sleuth. The reader becomes acquainted with all the characters during the intense plane crash scenes -- and pay attention -- one of them is up to no good! But which one? As the story progresses we learn more about each individual's personality as they react to the danger and uncertainty in desperate ways. My head was spinning with possibilities (or maybe it was from hyperventilating over hero Sawyer.) In any case, I definitely felt light-headed by the time I reached the resounding climatic end. Phew!
Kent is flying a plane over the Rocky Mountains but there is an explosion and they crash land. Lauren helps the injured when they seek shelter in a ghost town. Everything seems to go wrong in more ways than one. Lots of mystery, mayhem, surprises and romance. This is inspirational and a very great read.
I really like Jill's work. This is a great example of that; this book is well written, action packed, and full of suspense. Jill also weaves her faith into her work like a tapestry. I really like that. I know you're going to love this one.
Lauren Carter is riding in an airplane her step father had arranged for her and her mother to go by a chartered flight. They are over the mountain when an explosion blow up the back of the plane. The co-pilot is injured and Lauren goes up to see if she can help the pilot. He manages to glide the plane down and they crash close to a ghost town. Some of the passengers a hurt and she helps the pilot get them to a place of shelter but they soon find they are attacked and a killer is among them.
Pilot Kent Garland is convinced his plane was sabotaged. He and Lauren work to keep the survivors alive and fed. Accidents begin to take place and soon it's obvious someone is out to kill all of the survivors. Who could this person be and why would they want to destroy everyone out here?
A journey of two people fighting to save the survivors and find the traitor. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Trust Him with your heart and watch Him work for you.
I'm pretty sure I got this book from a friend, though I don't see that she rated it on here, so I might be mistaken.
The opening was not the attention grabbing type I'm used to for a suspense book. Lauren and her mom Nina are traveling to San Francisco for a girls weekend, and Nina is trying to get Lauren interested in the pilot. Also on the plane are a female copilot and several business executives.
Sabotage takes the plane down and evidence points to someone on the plane being a saboteur. I didn't guess who it was before the author revealed it, but that is rather normal for me as a reader. Once they got into the mining town, the action picked up and I grew to care about the three main focus characters.
The book starts with a young woman Lauren and her mother on a charter flight when an engine blows and the plane crashes. The pilot, Kent, relies on Lauren's calm help and knowledge of medicine with the rest of the passengers, but pretty quickly they all realize that the crash was sabotage. Now someone is still trying to kill them! Can Kent and Lauren figure things out before they all are killed?
The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character and action oriented storyline that has no steam. The characters are vibrant and engaging. The Christian ideals are more subtle, but are definitely an integral part of the story. If all this sounds good to you, try it and enjoy!
Very good. This was a little different from most of the suspense books that I read. A group of people is on a private plane heading to California when there is an explosion that completely disables the plane. Fortunately, the pilot is able to land it safely - only to discover that the plane had been sabotaged and that someone in their midst is the saboteur.
The story was interesting overall. However, it was also cheesy, and not in the cute way. Also, the author made some strange...mistakes or typos or writing choices...I'm not sure which. And it detracted from the story. I did enjoy it, for the most part, but I'm very glad it's not part of a series.
Overall good, some parts seemed rushed and lacked details. The ending seemed to tie up too nicely in a little bow, making the ending too cutesy for the type of mystery/suspense themes in the rest of the book
Reading about the plane crash, survival tactics, and the investigation and mayhem among the victims was gripping, but the pause, faith coversation, unpause halted the plot a few times. My own fault for not realizing what was meant by “suspense inspired,” but overall a good read.
This book kept me guessing - lots of tension - although I thought it slowed in a few parts, all in all, a good read for all you romantic suspense readers!
This was a very exciting and adventurous book for a short read. I could not put it down from beginning to end. Loved everything about this book. Great job to the author
Rocky Mountain Sabotage is by Jill Elizabeth Nelson. This book is really good. There is enough adventure to really keep you interested. There are quite a few twists that you are not expecting. It is fun to try to figure out what is going on. Lauren Carter and her Mother, Nina Barrington, are on a private flight to San Francisco to spend some time together. Since her marriage, Nina hasn’t had much time to spend with her only child. As much as Lauren loves her Mother, she is angry at her Father for leaving without saying goodbye. Why her Mother couldn’t have told her that he had just left instead of his just being gone working, she didn’t understand. Lauren has to put this and her Mother’s matchmaking ideas out of her mind and enjoy this time with her Mother. Kent Garland is proud of his plane and his business. He has gone over the plane from the front to back and she is ready to fly. He picks up Lauren and her Mother, along with executives: Neil Gleason, Cliff Yancy, Dirk Dickson, Richard Engle, and Phil Blount for the trip to Phoenix. Working the cabin is Kent’s friend and co-pilot, Magdalena Haven. The trip is uneventful until they reach the Rocky Mountains. Then, there is an explosion and Kent loses all controls and electrical system. With Lauren’s help, he manages to crash land the plane. They crash near an abandoned mine town. No one knows where they are and there is no way their cell phones work out here and someone has sabotaged the phone in the plane. Who sabotaged the plane? Who is trying to kill them or just frighten them away?
