WOMAN WITHOUT A PAST

Amnesia may be keeping Ella Weiss from remembering her past—but not from saving the little boy who's been her fellow prisoner the last seven years. After managing to escape her cell, all she wants is to find where little Joseph is being kept. Instead she runs straight into CIA agent Kyle Jennings. Kyle isn't sure if Ella is actually a kidnap victim or if she's working for the gunrunner he's been after. One thing he is certain of is her uncanny resemblance to the wife he thought he'd buried. To save a child's life and stop a terrorist from slipping through his fingers, he'll need to uncover the secrets of Ella's past—and whether or not she's really the woman he's never stopped loving.

Deadly Memories was a fantastic LIS read. I absolutely loved the story, from the beginning chapter on. I always seem find stories with characters suffering from amnesia very good and this book was no different.

While I did guess some of the plot points early on, I feel like those were ones that you were supposed to be able to guess. I loved the characters and really felt for both of them. So much heartache and pain.

I didn't find the book boring at all and because of the suspense, I was eager to finish the book to see how everything would end.

All in all, Deadly Memories was a great read and I definitely recommend it!

Wow! Deadly Memories was truly action-packed! There were twists and turns, coupled with the unnerving feeling of not knowing who to trust. I really liked these two main characters and felt for them as they tried not only to survive, but also to sort through what was real and what was not. I also enjoyed the high energy pace of this novel. It really didn’t let up! It was very interesting to slowly piece together the extremes that this enemy used to control people, including the psychological manipulations that the various characters were subjected to.

Very good and exciting story that I definitely recommend to fans of suspense.

This Love Inspired Suspense certainly lived up to it’s name. From the first page until the last it will keep you wondering what will happen next. Some things you can figure out but there are twists and turns that will keep you guessing. I like stories where the main character has amnesia and I also like it if their memory returns. Kyle it a wonderful hero and Ella is very special as the heroine. I recommend this book. I won this book in a drawing. All opinions expressed are my own.

Ella Wiess—captured eight years ago—tortured, brain-washed and striped of her memories, escapes the clutches of her tormentors to fall into the protective duty of CIA agent Kyle Jennings & his team, the Scorpions. Not knowing whether she's friend or foe, who to trust or who to believe, she only has one mission. Save the boy named Joseph her captors have used as a pawn to get her to do what they want.

High-intensity scenes, emotions ramped up on adrenaline, fear on every side, with Ella dealing with amnesia has this story pegged as a chilling suspense from the get-go! I was right with her trying to figure out exactly who she is, where she came from, and if she can go through with the “mission” Alhasan has tasked her with. Having no memories and living with years of abuse, she is rightfully fearful of everyone & it has stripped her of trust for human-kind. The moment Kyle encounters Ella in the desert, he's flooded with memories of his late wife he buried years ago. With each encounter he has with her, there is an uncanny resemblance to her and he fights the feelings it brings up. It's impossible that she's Lena, isn't it?? GAH...this one had me guessing at every turn, imaging the worst possible thing to happen and then the author takes it up another notch! She'll have you on the ride of your life, twisting you up inside, and gluing your nose to the pages. You won't breath until the last page, then you'll be left wanting more!

This is only the third book Mary has written for LIS and I'm thrilled with her work. I hope to read a lot more of her books. This story is well written, fast paced, and action packed. The story is also full of faith and I like that. I know you will love this book.
CIA Agent Kyle Jennings is in the desert on an assignment when he finds a woman out in the middle of nowhere. Is she a victim of is she working with the gunrunner he is searching for? She appears to have no memory of who she is or where she even came from. He soon finds out she is a missionary that had been abducted and held for years. It was uncanny how much she looked like his wife who died seven years ago, but he had buried her and she was gone.
Missionary Ella Weiss had been held captive for seven years. She had returned to consciousness many years ago after a severe head trauma. The only thing she knew was shat she had been told. Her family had been killed in the same attack she had been injured in. She manages to escape her cell and goes in search for the child Joseph that had been her fellow prisoner. She finds herself out side and in the middle of nowhere. She had been tortured, starved and experimented on while being held but the only thing important was this child. She had to find him. When Kyle comes to her rescue she realizes he is the man they have trained her to kill. She's a missionary can she kill someone even if it is to save the child?
A great journey of trying to find answers to the past while running from the men who are out to destroy them and his team. God has a plan for these two a plan for a hope and a future. A future they never thought possible. God has a plan for you too. Trust Him, give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life upside down. God is so good.

I really enjoyed reading this book. From page one I was drawn in and found it difficult to put it down. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. I could relate to some of their struggles, but there were some I couldn't even imagine. Deadly Memories kept me in the edge of my seat, and was unlike any book I've read before. Alford had me biting my nails and questioning who everyone really was. I wasn't ready for the book to end, and would have gladly read a lot longer.

Kyle and his team have been trying to catch an elusive terriorist, and just when they think they are getting close he moves again. When Ella shows up in the middle of the desert, she looks familiar to Kyle. Can she be his long ago buried wife, or is she someone the enemy has groomed to trick him. There is no doubt she hasn't been taken care of, but is that just to throw them off? Ella not remembering who she is doesn't help the situation. The only thing she cares about is helping Joseph a fellow prisoner. She escaped but he is still held captive, she just doesn't know where. Can they work together to find Joseph and stop the terrorist before it's too late?

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a intriguing suspense. I can't wait to see what Alford comes up with next. I felt as if I was trying to solve the mystery with them. If you enjoy a one of a kind suspense this book is for you. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

Inspirational suspense at its best. Lena has been in captivity for 7 years. She is coerced into following orders. Without her memory and the child she lost, she has no other choice. But when she is rescued by Kyle, the man she’s supposed to kill, what does she do when memories from the past override her plans for the present? Is she really who her captors say she is?

Deadly Memories is a fast-paced suspense that will keep you turning the pages. When you’ve gone as far as you can on your own, God is there. When you can’t trust anyone, you can trust God. When you don’t understand why things happen, God can give you peace. I really enjoyed Kyle’s journey as he overcame what had happened in his past and was stronger for it. He didn’t understand why God let things happen, but he trusted Him.

I received a free copy in the hope that I would mention/review it on my blog. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Although I have read a few of Mary Alford books, it was in the first few chapters that I went down the rabbit hole to find if this was part of a series, and noticed a few books with the logo "Love Inspired Suspense". I think I have discovered the gold mine and will definitely be digging deeper.
Enough of the future, let's get back to the past. Seven years ago Kyle's wife went missing on an undercover mission and he has mourned her loss after a body was discovered. Now he is on a mission to find The Fox and has been unsuccessful so far. So many leads, so many trails gone dark, will they be able to be helped by the discovery of a young woman escaped from an enemy prison? Can Ella help them in their search?
I was glued to the pages and The Fox was a complete shock at the end; I didn't see that one coming.
I bought this book and it is a pleasure to leave my honest and voluntary review.

Ella is trying to remember anything about her past, but it seems someone doesn't want her to remember anything. Someone has it out for her and all she know is she needs to protect the one person who stole her heart. Kyle is not sure why but it feels like Ella is hiding more then she's letting on. Is she really a killer or is she just as innocent as she might seem?
I will start off saying if you love reading authors like Dee Henderson, Dani Pettrey, or Terri Blackstock then seriously grab this book along with any others by this author they are super amazing. This book has you on the edge of your seat and there is not a dule moment at all. You find yourself turning the pages just to see what the author throws at you next. I want to read so much more about the Team featured in this book. I think the only thing I didn't like was that it ended. The book is well worth the read.

Action

Action from beginning to end. Ella Weiss has been held captive for over 7 years. She cannot remember how or why. She know in order to save a young boy name Joseph she must kill some name Kyle. But Why. Kyle is in Afghanistan looking for someone the CIA has nicknamed the Fox when in the middle of the desert he come across a woman that look like his late wife. Is it Lena or is his mind playing tricks on him. This story has car chases, gun fights, gun running, attempted murder, who do you trust, who is really the Fox, is it one of Kyle's team members, is it someone in the small town where Ella and Kyle is hiding out. Who is Ella, Who is Lena? Ella know that the only person she can trust is God, and Kyle realize that the only one that can clear up this mystery is God. We can always trust God no matter what situation we are in.

I truly enjoyed this book not only because it is well written but you love the characters and the danger.
Ella Weis has been held captive for many years and all that kept her going was the little boy she was allowed to care for. When an opportunity arises, Ella escapes but can't find Joseph to take with her. Now her only goal is to find Joseph and hopefully get her memory back. After her escape she is found by Scorpian team leader Kyle, who is struck by how much Ella looks like his dead wife Lena. He joins with Ella in the search for Joseph because the person who has the boy is also the man Kyle has been hunting for years. Can the two find Joseph and his captor before others Die? Is there more to Ella then either of them know? Will they survive their joint mission?

Action packed from beginning to end!
Ella Weiss has been held prisoner and endured torture for several years in Afghanistan. She has been trained to be an assassin by her captors. Her target? Kyle Jennings. Guess who comes to rescue her...you guessed it, Kyle. As soon as he sees Ella, she reminds him of his late wife. Will he be able to protect himself with that thought weighing on him?
This book was amazingly written. The suspense keeps going and going. Many twists and turns are in this book and I highly recommend reading it if you love suspenseful clean romances. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. All opinions in this review are my own.

Have you ever considered how you would react if you were held against your will for years? Stockholm syndrome is real and certainly can cause you to consider doing things you would never do otherwise. Add Amnesia and a child to the mix and you have the perfect killing machine....or do you? Ella Weiss has experienced all of the above. Will she remember who she really is, accomplish her mission and then live 'happily ever after'?
A fantastic story that made for the most enjoyable afternoon in the midst of a winter storm.

Deadly memories by Mary Alford is one of those books with amnesia trope being well done. It’s a hard trope to make work. This Romantic suspense is one where the main characters basically can best be described as strangers to lover but was public before tropes where a main focus on books. I highly recommend Deadly memories by Mary Alford. This is a book I believe would be good for readers who love romantic suspense and want a comparison from a harlequin book to those published today. The comparison would work with indie authors or those traditional published. Mary Alford is an extraordinary writer who would have benefited if today’s publishing structure was more prevalent earlier on.

The story sounded intriguing; so, I thought I would try out an author whose books I haven't read before. There was a lot to think about and speculate on while I was reading this suspenseful romance. Just like the two lead characters, I was consumed with trying to figure out who could be ttusted as the plot thickened and clues came to light. The ending was surprising and I couldn't help wondering if there is a sequel to follow this book; I've got unanswered questions...

What a tense read. Can't even begin to imagine being held for 7 years in such a situation. The brain washing robbed the heroine of her past/future. Tightly written with breathtaking scenes. I absolutely loved this book. Highly recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I have read several of Mary Alford's books and this is the best yet -- don't start it unless you're ready to stay up late, very late because you won't be able to put it down. It starts with a bang and continues to have surprises and suspence all the way thru -- with a big big surprise at the end.

I won this book on goodreads; however, I didn't realize it was a romance novel. Ms. Alford writes a good story. It is very predictable though. There was one thing in the book that puzzled me, but now, I see there will be a sequel.

This Love Inspired Suspense novel is a remarkable piece of writing. From the onset, the story gripped my attention, and I found it hard to put down. Although my first time reading Mary Alford's work, I was thoroughly impressed, and I look forward to exploring her other books. The author's ability to seamlessly integrate heart-wrenching trauma with suspenseful action scenes and heartwarming romance is a testament to her exceptional writing skills. Overall, a phenomenal read that I highly recommend.

Although this book is a standalone, it is closely related to Rocky Mountain Pursuit, and I recommend reading that one first. I'm reading it now, but wish I had known they went together before I read this one.
